My friend and I stayed here for the first time and had a great time. Car park was a good size - £10 per night. Hotel is lovely and a great location. The staff were really friendly and professional. |I stayed in Hawthorn. Air con was perfect. Loved the sachet of hot chocolate in the room. Also came with complimentary popcorn, biscuits and fruit.|We paid £20 for breakfast. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were fantastic. |Will definitely stay again.

Our experience began the day before our arrival when the hotel called to confirm our details and ensure we were prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the location was perfect—central to everything. We loved the rooms and enjoyed relaxing on the terrace with drinks after our walks. Breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back if we visit this lovely town again.

It’s a lovely hotel right opposite the RSC and close to the beautiful river area. It’s not the cheapest hotel but we chose it for location and as a treat. Staff are friendly and a special thank you to Zoltan for his special attention and looking after us so well. Rooms have old world charm despite some of the furniture being a bit in need of some TLC. Couldn’t fault it for cleanliness. We enjoyed dinner and brekkie and drinks on the terrace a must. A little trouble understanding the bill on checkout and they do add a service charge. I’d recommend if you don’t mind paying a bit extra. Stratford itself is lovely & I can’t wait to go back.

Why do we read all the reviews AFTER we have booked? Why do we take more notice of older bad reviews than better more recent ones? I am guilty of the above and should be ashamed! |As above we were slightly worried about our Afternoon Tea due to many poor reviews, although mostly from 2024. |Let me reassure you.. everything was first class! Lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, warm and tasty scones with jam and cream. Many “top ups” offered on our tea and coffees, in fact every negative feared was actually a positive. |Special mention for Mary and Emma, Also pastry chef Neelam, her cakes were delicious, so pretty too! |I would recommend the Afternoon Tea at the Arden, so well situated too just across the road from the theatre by the river.

Nice afternoon tea but not wowed.|This was a Christmas present via a Virgin Experience Day at a cost of £61 for two people.|Felt that was very expensive for what you got per person:||Four finger sandwiches.|Two small scones with a tiny pot of jam & very small tub of cream for two people! Not nearly enough. They did bring more when asked but should have come with a sensible portion.|One small mango cake, small piece of Battenberg cake and small chocolate pudding.|Choice of teas (apparently) but no menu given for either food or drinks so just had to guess!||Friendly initial service but then virtually nothing so felt very neglected.||It was ‘fine’ but wouldn’t rush back as we’ve had much better teas elsewhere with note attentive service (including Prosecco) for half the price.

I highly recommend The Arden Hotel as a hotel, venue space and restaurant/bar. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and hosted 20 guests for my husband's 50th Birthday luncheon. IT WAS BRILLIANT!!!! Everything we expected and even MORE!!! The attention to detail, the high standards of service, the venue, the food and drink selection, the comfortable accommodation and all the amazing staff who looked after as so well. Thank you Emma, Mollie, Ruel, Beth, Mary, and Meet, and the entire hospitality staff you are EXCELLENT!!!! 5 STARS!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Thank you:)

Great location, opposite RSC. Car park signage is missing letter and so a bit tricky to find, but on-site parking is big advantage in Stratford.||Old style hotel. We were given a room with a small, separate seating area and bedroom overlooking the RSC. Bed had type of mattress that moved when my husband moved and vice-versa. Consequently, not the best sleep, but that's because we're not used to that type of mattress. Shower over the bath (would ask for walk-in shower next time).||Staff were pleasant and helpful.||Breakfast was very good, particularly the cooked to order part.||Would definitely stay at The Arden Hotel again .

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned about staying at this hotel. But, once we checked in, all concerns quickly vanished. ||Location - for the price, you just can't beat the location! It's in the heart of Stratford Upon Avon, right across from the river. There are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Plus, they have parking!!||Service - the staff couldn't do enough for us. I've stayed at true, 5-star resorts and hotels, and, aside from not wearing uniforms, the service here was very comparable. A big shout out to Peter who catered to our every need. If the Arden Management is reading these reviews, you truly have done an exceptional job at employing first-rate staff!!!||Room - our room was on the small side, but it was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was in great condition with all the toiletries one would need. Plus, it had AC!!! With the recent UK heat wave, that was a must-have. Could it use a little updating? Sure. But, again, for the price, you really can't complain.||Food - We had both dinner and breakfast. Both were OUTSTANDING. We loved the selection, quality and quantity of the meals. Plus, the ambience of the restaurant was lovely, as was the service. The only small downside was there's no AC, but that's pretty much on par with every other boutique establishment throughout the UK. ||In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will absolutely return if we're in the area!

Yelp
It is a nice hotel with really good service and accommodations. We stayed in a room with a king or queen size bed. It was a good size, and the bathroom was really nice with handheld shower head extension and a nice sink. The only downside was that the bath was only half enclosed, so it is really easy for water to get on the floor. The refrigerator was really small and wasn't kept very cold. Breakfast was really nice. It's slightly pricey but nice. We purchased a full English breakfast. Everything was really good. It was but pricey overall and they added more because we had our son. Another downside is bringing your luggage in and out. It was not easy going up and down stairs with 20-25 kg bags. There are no elevators.

Yelp
I loved it! We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect if you are attending a play at the Royal Shakespeare Theater (across the street) and it is just a block off the main road so quiet - but close to everything. The staff were ALL so professional and very helpful with anything we needed. The room was fabulous and had modern amenities - including a large bathroom and shower. We had breakfast in the restaurant both mornings which was delightful. We stopped at the hotel bar each evening for a night cap after being out on the town. I would highly recommend it!

Yelp
We're staying here for one night only. Positives: 1. Toilet seat, just right, for small butts! 2. Magnifying glass in bathroom. 3. Room & bed adequate for 2 people. 4. Free Wi-Fi really fast! 5. Restaurant & bar, fabulous. 6. Front desk service. 7. FREE Cotswold chocolates, also provided in your room along with tea & coffee. They even filled my Contigo hot drink holder! 8. Lots of buffet breakfast selections. 9. Hot foods in the menu. 10. Lots of staff avail. to help. 11. View to the garden, from our bedroom. 12. Able to open windows for some fresh air. Negatives: 1. Bathroom too dark to put makeup, even with magnifying mirror a plus, but you can't see. 2. Drapes lining all ripped. 3. Seat cushions too low, padding worn out? I put a pillow on, but still too low for the desk. 4. Stairs not handicapped access. 5. Even though we've closed the windows by the time we went out for dinner, the room, was still cold, even the sheets were cool after sleeping a good night sleep (for me). So, it must be a perfect temperature, since I slept the longest from this hotel!

Yelp
I visited here while strolling here for lunch. My prior visit had been over 10 years ago for a wedding when it was still known as The Thistle. It's a great location for pre-theater dinner as it's directly across from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. If you stay overnight, you may find yourself in the breakfast room with an actor or two from the prior night's performance. At lunch they offer a fixed price menu with 1, 2, or 3 courses. I selected 2 courses. The first course was a chicken and mushroom terrine; the second, a bream. There was a good selection of wines to accompany the meal. The food was nicely presented and prepared perfectly. Service was attentive without being cloying. Quiet ambience was appreciated after a day of tourist activities.

Yelp
Nice hotel with good sized rooms and fine amenities. It is a bit of a maze to get to the rooms. The keys - old fashioned, not key cards - come on a large key chain with your room name, no numbers here. This is quaint but a bit of a problem for toting around. Guess you could ask the front desk to hold it for you when you go out. The location is fantastic, right across the street from The Royal Shakespeare Theater. Breakfast was mixed. We ordered omelettes which were very good but the breakfast buffet was disappointing. The one irritating thing that happened was that upon check in they asked if we wanted a newspaper and which one, they made is seem like it was complementary - it wasn't. They asked for payment upon check-out. I told them that it wasn't explained that there was a charge - not much just one pound. They could have bought themselves a bunch of good will by waiving the pound but they didn't. Too bad.
