Heart & Soul into every stitch, I like the copy. Good marketing, I like the style. Just a reminder to myself.

As great as the goods are at The Armoury (and, rest assured, they have excellent products!) the staff is what stands out for me! I don’t live in NYC, but, anytime I make it to the city, I stop by just to say hello to the friends I’ve made there. They’re great people and, when it comes to menswear, they’ve earned my trust many times over with 1) their personal style and 2) by giving me honest feedback. As an example, I’ve been told I shouldn’t buy something that I was fully prepared to purchase because the fit or the style wasn’t working for my body. On the other end of the suggestion-spectrum, when they encourage me by saying something looks great on me, it’s almost immediately validated when I wear that piece and get compliments by total strangers on the street. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful store. And Matthew was very helpful and kind even though I only came to try on a few sports coats to get a feeling for the fit. Thank you again!

Fab store.. The decor, service and ambience is exactly the kind of place for blokes to get some retail therapy. Decor is designed like an 'old library' complete with step ladder. Clothes are displayed neatly and not 'in your face'. Spacious enough to have a walk around comfortably. Yep! Cool place, cool vibe.

The Armoury is to classic menswear what The Strand is to books and Mood is to fabrics—each a New York City treasure where stepping inside almost guarantees leaving with something exceptional. Every purchase I've made, whether a bag, vest, jacket, or coat, has been money well spent. My admiration goes to all involved in operating this institution of refined taste and curation, and I'm grateful for the occasional sample sales.

Couldn’t have had a better experience with the guys at the Armoury. It’s incredible rare (in fact, I’ve never seen it) to have that level of quality combined with extraordinarily friendly, down to earth, and attentive service. Suits are impeccably made and while of course not cheap feel like a tremendous value for money.

Been to this store and the UES one - super knowledgeable and helpful staff at both. Never pushy either, just a great place to go if you like to get advice from people who know what they’re talking about when you buy clothing.

I visited the store - for the 2nd time - about 3 weeks ago while on vacation with my family. I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the excellent customer service that I received. Unfortunately, all the pieces I really liked were sold out in my size. Despite not buying anything, the gentleman who assisted me also gave us a great lunch recommendation that the whole family enjoyed. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick something up during my next visit, as I’ll be sure to stop by again!

Yelp
I came here for my wedding outfit in 2022. After exploring all the options out there for mens attire, there's no comparison. This place is top notch. You literally cannot find service or quality this good anymore elsewhere. When I had the tuxedo in hand and needed it altered, I couldn't find a tailor I trusted locally so I called them and they offered to do all the alterations and ship it to me at no charge. They made sure the fit was perfect and the experience everything I could have hoped for. I couldn't recommend them more!

Yelp
My husband swears by this store. They carry Carmina shoes, which are one of the best you can buy for your buck. Tailored clothing, Nomos watches (first store I've seen with these), helpful sales associates, and all around nice experience. Wish there were more of these kinds of stores!

Yelp
The Armoury is an awesome shop that carries extremely high-quality goods without the pretentious attitude that sometimes accompanies the luxury atmosphere. I tell people that The Armoury is a place you can visit for the experience, but also if you're not in NY or HK - they a website that carries most of their ready-to-wear offerings. I've followed The Armoury (@thearmourynyc) instagram account and tumblr for a while now, for style inspiration as someone interested in classic fashion. I recommended by a friend, and had my fiance stop by to choose a wedding suit. The sales associates couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, guiding us with some options and educating on what makes sense (pull tabs instead of a belt, for example, for a more formal look). The suit looked absolutely fantastic on him. Highly recommended for wedding parties, casual suits and especially interview suits. He's moving on to interviewing for a few firms in the city now and will definitely be wearing The Armoury.

Yelp
This is a great store for classy menswear. The prices are obviously high, but that's expected as the items they carry are uniformly very high end. I went in to look at a suit I saw online. They were super helpful and not pushy at all. I ended up not getting it, but I though the salespeople were awesome.

Yelp
I stopped by the Armoury in search of trousers, on the recommendation of someone on a men's fashion forum, and I am glad I did! If you are into classic menswear that is high quality and stylish and not faddish, timeless yet modern, this is a must-see. I'm not sure which section made the biggest impression. I loved the fabrics used in the jackets and trousers, along with subtle details that show the craftsmanship. But this store has so much more to offer. I developed an understanding for, and appreciation of, the free-flowing elegance that is the "Tie Your Tie" untipped tie. And the Drake ties they carried were, of course, as handsome as their reputation would require. I used to hesitate to put neckwear on a birthday wish-list, because, well, who knows what kind of tie you may get? But now it's easy to say, "Any tie from the Armoury would be awesome!" They have an impressive array of high end footwear from Carmina and Alden, and I was especially impressed by a boot that was just the right amount of dressy but not too dressy to serve as a solid staple in a footwear rotation. I learned that this was the Alden "Parker" boot, a specific makeup named after the individual we were working with in the store. How cool is that? It was simply perfect. Parker took considerable time with us, explaining the stories of the different products, and giving us a first class education in many aspects of the haberdashery. We were surprised to learn that the Armoury has their own shoe line. At first, I was skeptical - that is, until I saw the product. Wow! These shoes were of high quality, and they had an aesthetic that was very elegant and... familiar. It turns out these shoes were designed in collaboration with none other than master bespoke shoemaker Yohei Fukuda, and made in Northampton, England. So whereas I came to the store in search of trousers, I now have an Alden Parker boot and an Armoury shoe on my sartorial wish list. This store manages to have a a high quality, classic product, and extremely knowledgeable staff, while never coming across as snooty or pretentious. And they truly made me comfortable despite how little I truly knew about any of the products. One visit, one bag of goods, and a much lengthened wish list... The Armoury may now count me among their loyal customers.

Yelp
Beyond Disappointing. I arrived at 10:56 AM just prior to their 11 AM opening in blazing NYC heat. I was told to come back in 5-10 minutes. Why not 4 minutes? Why not just let me in, it is really hot out here ! When i returned and entered I was not greated or welcomed despite two salespeople and only one other customer. When I looked at the stairs to lower level I was told "there is nothing for you down there". That was my initial greeting I guess. I made it through the entire small store before anyone said hello or may I help you. The store is very small with little available off the peg. Over my NYC weekend I did purchase an overcoat, suit, sport coat, and fabric for three custom garments. ALL from OTHER retailers with better customer service and selection.

Yelp
I've been following these guys on IG for some time now and made a visit recently to check out the Armoury branded dress shoes. The Pedder captoe is gorgeous in person and has a very lovely shade of dark brown. While the showroom feel high end and exclusive thanks to the heavy cast iron doors, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Richard was insightful, helpful and very patient. He was not pushy and offered alternatives to get the shoes to me as I needed to sleep on the purchase. Ultimately I went with some Crockett & Jones because they simply fit my feet better. However I highly recommend the Armoury for someone looking for a great menswear shopping experience.

Yelp
The Armoury is a new, much-need men's retailer specializing in modern, yet classic tailored clothing. If I ever have the chance to have my very own man-cave, it would look like The Armoury: beautiful wooden plank floors and dark wood-paneled walls contrasted by a stark expanse of exposed industrial, antique brick. There's a subtle attention to detail - the exposed brick wall is covered with epoxy so dust won't settle on the clothes. And then there's the clothes and accessories. In a word, stunning. Ascot Chang shirts with flattering, higher-than-usual spread collars, elegant Drake's grenadine ties in two different widths, suits and jackets of interesting fabric from Ring Jacket, beautifully carved Fox umbrellas, and sleek, dashing shoes from Saint Crispin. Made-to-measure and bespoke services will be available from traveling tailors in special trunk shows. Everything from the industrial storefront, to the decor and clothes is about texture. The style that the Armoury offers is a welcome addition to downtown New York, although I miss the eclectic store, Working Class, that used to be in this location. Service at The Armoury is professional and friendly. On my visits to the store, the staff was unobtrusive yet helpful when needed. The owners of The Armoury are clued into the sartorial secret that looking great lies in fit and subtlety. Unfortunately prices are not for the weak-of-heart, which sadly reinforces the continuing lack of tailored menswear at mid-ranged prices in NYC. However, if men's style can be thought of as donning armor, The Armoury is a good place to suit up.

Yelp
This is certainly a nice store. Value - not really. They do specialize in actual luxury goods. I splurged for a new suit during one of their trunk shows. I've gotten a pair of shoes and a few ties. If I had endless money I would probably be buying more from here. The experience is certainly friendly and nice so really no major complaints.

Yelp
Here's the problem with menswear in NYC, specifically traditional tailored clothing: there's no middle ground for the modern man. Plenty of places like Reiss and Zara offer tailored clothing at decent price levels, but the quality isn't great. Others like J Crew and Suitsupply have interesting fabrics and OK construction, but are too preoccupied with trends. There are places in this city to get great traditional tailored clothing, but be prepared to empty your bank account. The Armoury falls into the latter category. They offer great pieces and hard to find accessories, but the prices are high. Here, it's possible to look modern, without dressing like your dad (which is a problem with places like Brooks Brothers). However, the real problem with the Armoury isn't the prices, but the lack of imagination. When I walked into the store, It looked like a haberdashery run by menswear bloggers: there were the ubiquitous double monk strap shoes, the emphasis on brown shoes, Talarico umbrellas, Drakes ties, and the spalla camicia shoulder. It was as if a menswear internet forum exploded. I walked out without buying anything, despite the friendly sales staff, because I had no intention of looking like an igent (a guy that dresses in accordance with the whims of menswear bloggers). A tip for potential entreprenuers: New York City lacks a traditional yet modern men's haberdashery offering tailored clothing at moderate prices. If someone can breach this middle ground, there's a fortune to be made.
