Exquisite Dining at The Artist: A Culinary Journey in Bucharest
The Artist, the renowned restaurant in Bucharest, is widely recognized as a landmark in the city. Located in a classic old building with a charming back terrace, it is advisable to make reservations in advance. Its fixed menu, functioning as a customizable tasting menu, offers a remarkable gastronomic experience.
The interior of the restaurant is impressive, although it would be advisable to restore the upper area (with incredible paintings). The service, while polite and attentive, appears to lack specialized training. Some errors, such as confusion in orders and the absence of tablecloths on the terrace, could be avoidable to maintain the overall excellence of the place.
In my case, my menu consisted of the option of 5 dishes, which I chose according to my interests. It was ideal, especially with the generous addition of a complimentary appetizer. Although the price per person (69.42 euros/341 LEI) may be considered high compared to Spanish standards, the quality of the dishes and well-balanced portions partially justify the cost. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to update its menu more frequently to offer variety to its regular customers.
In summary, The Artist remains a standout option for food enthusiasts in Bucharest, with a notable area for improvement in staff training and the periodic modernization of its menu.
Recommendations: For a more complete experience, it would be interesting for the restaurant to consider offering different atmospheres for different moments of the meal, such as using the terrace for desserts during the summer. Additionally, enhancing English proficiency among the staff would ensure impeccable service for international diners.
