"Another Fort Worth gem, The Ashton (No. 2) earned praise for its VIP service. One voter remarked, 'It’s a great place if you want to feel important!'" - Travel + Leisure Editors

"What were your first impressions?Soul seeps through all 39 of the well-appointed guest rooms in this beautiful boutique hotel in a renovated building on the National Register of Historic Places. It's located next to the bustling, modern Sundance Square—a welcome change of pace, especially when compared with the wedding parties and convention crews that compose the guest roster at the Omni. For a city as exciting as Fort Worth, it's shocking that the Ashton is one of only a handful of boutique options. When you arrived, how easy was it to get into your room?Guests are able to enjoy free keyless hotel room entry via smartphone when they download the OpenKey app—which we humbly submit should be a thing at all hotels. It's so much more convenient than your classic plastic key card. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The whole feel is an understated throwback that echoes the 1915 date the building went up. Wingback chairs sit next to a comfortable king bed with down pillows overlooking Main Street below. Any standouts among the food offerings?Saturday afternoon tea at the Ashton is an essential for Fort Worth visitors. The seasonal menu features a selection of fine English teas, soups, scones, sandwiches, and more—we love the white chocolate and apricot scone, especially when paired with a cup of orange blossom oolong. Are there other essential activities to fit into a stay at the Ashton? The innkeeper hosts a complimentary wine hour on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Bottom line: Worth it, and why?Yes. It's intimate and charming and you cannot pick a better location in town." - Diana Oates

I travel a great deal with my job and usually have a teenager or two in tow with me, and this hotel was the best hotel we could have stayed at for the week! They treated us with respect, courtesy, and even made us laugh a few times! Rodney went above and beyond to help us one day print some documents we left at home and was very happy to do it! The location was safe and perfect for walking to our destination! The rooms were stunning and cleaned daily! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed here for a weekend anniversary getaway and loved the location—everything downtown was within walking distance. The hotel has a charming boutique feel with great historic character, which added to the experience. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. Special shoutout to Iris, the bartender, who was incredibly friendly and made great drinks. The front desk staff was also very welcoming and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Great location. Very helpful staff. Front desk staff was amazing. Lashanti made a late check in absolutely seamless for me while also taking care of an unruly couple. Valet was very quick. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly. Uber drop off and pick up was convenient. Will definitely stay again.

At first I was pleasantly surprised at the historic hotel. The first night was nice but the 2nd day we were there and getting ready to check out was the problem. We called down to the front desk to ask for some more toilet paper since they only provided us with one roll. Never got one and had to go to my father in laws room and get a roll. Highly disappointed in that kind of service. Upon check out, we find that we've been charged over $ 100 for parking which we were never told would be extra. Couple of days later we see another charge of over $ 101 . I call the hotel and ask what it was for. I was told it was for incidentals and that it would come off in a few days. I wait for about 2 weeks and call again because the charge is still on there. I call again and get told the same thing, it's an incidental charge. I call a few days later and ask for the bookkeeping department. Now I get told that the charge was for taxes that they forgot to add to our stay. I ask my sister-in-law if she had the same charge and she did. She called and asked for the managers name and number. She gives me the number also and I called. Here's a surprise, he wasnt available. I left my name and number with the voicemail but have yet to hear from anyone. Seems to me that they have a nice little game they're running. Will never stay there again. Also we were staying there for my wife's nieces wedding and they had problems regarding that event also.

5/5 – A Charming & Romantic Stay My husband and I recently stayed at this historic hotel, and we enjoyed our experience! Our room was cozy and the bathtub was heavenly; perfect for relaxing after a day of traveling. With so many great restaurants and attractions within walking distance. There were just two very small hiccups—the bathroom hand towel had a hole, and one of the lamps flickered a bit—but everything else was so wonderful that these were barely noticeable. It’s clear the hotel takes great care in maintaining its historic charm while ensuring guests have a comfortable stay. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of elegance, convenience, and top-notch hospitality. Thank you for such a lovely getaway!

The Ashton was a decent stay in a great location in Fort Worth. However, the room cleanliness was not what it should be, and the whole place is showing its age (that elevator sounded like it was going to give up at any moment!). If you can get a good price it’s still worth staying for location, though. You’ll want to valet park for less hassle. I wish the interiors of this building had more of a nod to the historic nature of it, but oh well. Maybe the next time they renovate!

Google
I’m so happy to hear that they are going to be remodeling this property. I love historic hotels, and I try to stay in them whenever possible so I do understand that this is an older historic property. Unfortunately, things like broken tiles in the bathroom, peeling wallpaper and buttons that do not light up in the elevator are unacceptable at a property at this price point. The coffee was also not put out consistently in the mornings. Also, I’m hoping when they do the renovation it will be ADA accessible.

Iris was the BEST bartender!! She was kind, courteous, and made our time at the bar an unforgettable experience. When my wife and I come back, we hope Iris is working, if she's not we will go elsewhere. But honestly, she made our anniversary wonderful.

Yelp
Oh, Ashton Hotel, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways... starting with the valet parking! Seriously, is there anything better than handing over your keys and avoiding the existential crisis of finding a downtown parking garage? I think not. Upon arrival, I was ushered into what I can only describe as a charmingly cozy first room. It was like being enveloped in a warm hug from a vintage friend: clean, comfortable, and quaint. But, oh, the bathroom! The tile was older than a classic country song, cracked like it had been two-stepping a bit too hard, and the water leak above the shower? It was like the ceiling was crying over my holiday hangover. Cue the hero of our story: the front desk. With the swiftness of a Southern drawl, they moved me to a larger room - nay, a suite! It was as if I had been upgraded from a charming bed-and-breakfast to a grand old-school men's lounge. I half expected to find a monocle and a brandy snifter waiting for me. The new room was marvelous - spacious, with air conditioning that could rival a winter breeze and a bed so comfortable, I considered taking it home with me (though I'm not sure the valet could've fit it in my trunk). The décor had a rich, timeless feel, making me ponder if I'd somehow wandered into a Southern gentleman's club from a bygone era. The Ashton Hotel is a gem in the heart of Fort Worth, perfect for those who appreciate history, luxury, and a bit of humor in their hotel adventures. Would I return? Absolutely. Just keep an eye on those bathroom tiles, Ashton. Even a grand old dame needs a bit of upkeep now and then. P.S. - Thank you, front desk, for the prompt room switch. You deserve all the cookies next holiday season.

Yelp
The Ashton Hotel in Fort Worth has quickly become one of our top choices for afternoon tea. Their scones are absolutely worth the visit, and I can't get enough of their delicious butternut squash soup - it's now a personal favorite. We had the pleasure of trying their Winter Menu, which showcases their commitment to seasonal freshness. Staying overnight was a treat. The room exceeded our expectations in size, and the bathroom even boasted both a shower and a separate tub. The hotel's location is superb, with a lively dueling piano bar just around the corner and a charming coffee shop mere steps away. Additionally, there's a great selection of fantastic restaurants within walking distance, and the historic architecture adds to the vibe, transporting you to a different era right in the heart of Texas.

Yelp
This review is for the High Tea at the Ashton. My friend and I had stayed and visited the Ashton in the past but this time it was quite disappointing. Im glad we didn't book a room as they wanted over $400 for one night. The tea reservations were a bit unclear, I ended up calling the front desk to reserve and I was glad I called back to confirm two weeks before because they did not have our name. The menu was neat, the food was good. The pea soup starter was incredible. The wait staff was nice, but all of them seemed inexperienced. We got one glass of Prosecco each, and when we inquired if we could purchase another glass we were told the hotel had RUN OUT. We saw another table with a bottle, asked the waiter and he said you had to pre-reserve it. No where on the reservations did it say that. We each got one selection of tea and it was okay. The desert was the best part-the scones were delicious. The Prosecco was poured before guests arrived so it was not cold. The ticket included valet parking but we couldn't figure out how to do that and the valet line in front of the hotel was too long to park so we just found another spot to valet. When it came time to pay, my friend and I went to the front desk and were told that they can only accept one credit card per party. To me that seemed ridiculous. And the gratuity (26%) was added on. Two people, $81. Not worth it in our opinion. The hotel itself was dark, the bathroom was run down, and the snack "bar" for guests was empty. It's a shame because this hotel used to be very nice

Yelp
The best High Tea in Dallas! We stayed here a few weeks back and scheduled tea the next day for a little staycation action. Best Scone in Dallas!

Yelp
Completely disgusted and furious at the recent service from Ashton Hotel. Our company made a reservation at Ashton Hotel for Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9th for an important guest and his wife visiting us from Houston. Upon checking in on Friday, December 8th he was told that his reservation for for Saturday, December 9th WOULD NOT be honored and they would make him Check Out and move him and his wife to the nearby Hilton. Upon hearing this disappointing news he texted me but it was already late in the evening and I didn't see the text message until the next morning. When I called the Ashton the next morning Shayla (spelling?) told me that they would refund our company CC and they were paying for his stay at the nearby Hilton. This important guest texted me today (12/12) saying that his personal credit card is being charged and that Ashton is now refusing to pay the Hilton charge. This was his first time visiting Fort Worth and his first time seeing our business and meeting us. It was very important for this weekend (especially his hotel accommodations!) to be a positive experience. I could not have been more disappointed in the service from the Ashton Hotel.

Yelp
We stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend and I knew the moment that we arrived that it was a mistake to stay at the Ashton. The hotel staff are either incompetent or indifferent about customer service. Two staff behind the desk watch me and my wife make several trips to unload our baggage from the car without offering any assistance. When my wife inquired about a luggage cart, we were told they didn't have one. When we asked where the valet was, we were told he was probably out parking cars and just to bring them our keys and he would eventually park our car. The room smelled of bleach and the shutters had so much dust on them that it's likely they haven't been dusted since the hotel opened. Oh, and they overbooked the hotel by four rooms, so four couples had to move hotels. Later in the day when the wedding party was set to get ready in the Scott room, which was reserved, we were told by the staff at the front desk that they didn't know where the keys were to unlock that room. That was after we had called down 2x over a period of 45 minutes to ask them to unlock the room, to which they never sent anyone to communicate to us that they couldn't find the keys. It took a trip downstairs to learn of this. Lastly, the morning of check out, my wife and I checked out at 11am and the hotel lobby was littered with trash from the night before (cups, wrappers, etc) and no staff were going to be bothered with cleaning up. Oh, and the young lady behind the front desk was making out with some dude prior to us checking out. I will never stay there again and I recommend that no one else caring to stay in downtown Fort Worth stay there either.

Yelp
Cool hotel but no one could figure out how to turn off the friggin wake up call that came every morning at 6 am and again at 6:30 am. No one. So much for relaxing, romantic get away we had saved credit card points 3 years for.

Brendan T.

Yelp
On the plus side, the place is a very cool historic building originally built a century ago as the original Fort Worth Club. It's very centrally located downtown within quick walking distance of Sundance Square and a number of good restaurants and bars. Rooms were quite spacious and nicely appointed. On the downside, while I'm all for historic preservation and original details some basic renovations were sorely needed and the hotel looked downright beat up in spots. They should maybe also upgrade the windows in hopes of some better soundproofing as you could hear a lot of traffic noise at night and early mornings in our 2nd floor corner room. Security seemed way too lax, no key entry required for the hotel or elevators and we saw the lone front desk attendant have to chase out people coming in from the street a few times over the course of our two night stay. The hotel was too short staffed overall but all staff who were there were uniformly professional and lovely.

Eric A.

Yelp
The wife and I as well as another couple both booked rooms here over a month ago. I spent right about $400 for the room because we were treating ourselves and celebrating an occasion with good friends. We had issues using the app to check in online, upon arrival at the hotel. We were informed they overbooked and sent us up the street to the Hilton. This was rather aggravating because we were never called or notified of the issue until we arrived. We had even confirmed our reservation the day before, which was paid in full over a month earlier. This threw a big kink in our plans altogether, and i do not feel the room we were set up in was worth $400 at all. If you want to pay for a room way in advance and to being shuffled to another place who rents the rooms for a cheaper rate than this is your place. I feel like they merely overbook at the higher rate to bank money. I'll never waste my time here again because not only was i shafted on our room and rate, they relocated our friends as well and they had also paid in advance and got set up in a much smaller room and had paid for overnight parking further down the road and had to walk to the new hotel. Waste of time and disappointing evening for sure.

Yelp
The Ashton Tea. More like a lunch that offered small pots of loose leaf tea. The food was tasty. That said, this was not an English tea. Soup and Selection of hors d'oeuvre. Their scones were not traditional biscuits, the Ashton's were a large, hard triangle flat 'sugar cookie' that one may spread jam across. One bite and I left it on the plate. $$ , close dark tables, more for dinner and wine.

Micalah C.

Yelp
The room we got was okay but definitely not worth the 500 we spent in two nights staying there they also charge a "historic fee" after you leave for 23$ they did not have a breakfast like they advertised and the parking was an additional 40$ this place sucks

Danielle N.

Yelp
Service was great, Rodney was very helpful and professiona. beautiful hotel great location awesome pillows

T W.

Yelp
I'm giving three stars because service was fine. It was our room that sucked. This was the second time we stayed here and the last. To me it looked like the room they gave us might have been used for something else and they turned it into a room. It was tiny and no tv. Check out the view I attached. We could also hear everything our neighbors were saying and doing. So if they try to give you room 302 ask for something else. Our friends stayed on the fifth floor and had a great room with high ceilings and a TV.

Lee Anne J.

Yelp
We booked this hotel first and 2 other couples followed us in booking. We were having a Weekend in Ft Worth and wanted to stay in the same location. When we got to the Hotel we were the first to arrive. They said they called the previous day and the day of arrival. I have zero voice-mails from the Ashton. They said there was an issue with our room and sent us to the Hilton. It was a rainy afternoon so it was not fun at allwalking with all of our stuff to the Hilton. The next couple in our group arrived after we were sent to the Hilton. They were told the same thing. Problem with the room but they got upgraded to the presidential suite. Then the last couple got there they said they had a voice-mail saying there was an issue but they were given a room at the Ashton as well. So we were at the point the couple not at the Ahston. And we don't understand why. We called customer service and gave a detailed complaint and we were told a General Manager would call us and its been over 2 weeks and we yet to receivea call or email. To add insult to injury I get an email asking how my stay at the Ashton was. It was a very inconvenient weekend.

Jim K.

Yelp
At nearly $300 per night I had high expectations of this "boutique" hotel and was terribly disappointed. The room was a typical hotel room and the bed was comfortable but the pleasant anniversary getaway hotel ended there. We were supposed to get a "Tea/light lunch" with the reservation; however, there was no such thing offered/provided. We were in the 4th floor facing 6th street and the traffic noise, especially in the wee hours of Saturday night, was very, very loud. Car alarms on the street and loud cars make for a poor night's rest. The windows of the hotel were caked with dirt. The desk staff seemed wholly incompetent (every time we walked past, without luggage, they would ask "are you checking out?"). The required valet was a joke, we called down to have the car retrieved and got a call back from the system indicating it would be ready in 10 minutes, when we showed up at the right time the answer we got was "oh, sorry, I didn't hear my phone buzz". The next time there was no call back that the car was ready and when we decided to go to the lobby to check on it, behold the car was there. The Echo Auto that I leave attached to my dash was broken. Luckily nothing was stolen. As someone who has spent a lot of nights in hotels this is among the poorest experiences I've had. If you want a historic boutique experience I would highly recommend that you try the Kimpton hotel that's at 7th and Main instead of The Ashton, the AC Hotel (boutique brand in the Marriott family) that's on the West side of 5th and Main or even the Courtyard by Marriott that's on the East side of 5th and Main. Terribly disappointed. Definitely won't be back.

Layla A.

Yelp
First, let me start out by saying this was our Thirtieth Wedding Anniversary celebration and we were planning to make a weekend of it. To start things off, the whirlpool bath in the room was not working, which was why we chose this specific room in the first place. When checking out I mentioned this to the front desk personnel, who could not have cared less. I told her we had specifically paid MORE for the room because it advertised that feature. Cricket noise. Secondly, we were jolted awake by an unsolicited wake-up call at 7 a.m. When I mentioned this, the front desk person replied, "Oh yeah, there were several others who had that happen too." Well, the fact that others suffered the same fate...that makes me feel so much better. Not. Lastly, we had an appalling experience retrieving our vehicle. Initially we were told that it would be at least a half hour to get our car. Well, okay, there was only the one attendant and he seemed to be rather frazzled. We waited 20 minutes for our car, finally the attendant told us we might want to go down the street a few blocks to the Hilton as they were parking cars of the Ashton guests at that location, and they could help get our car sooner because he thought he would be at least an additional half hour getting ours. We walked down to the Hilton and stood in the cold for 20 to 25 minutes until I tell my husband that I am walking back to the Ashton at least I can sit indoors and not freeze to death while waiting for the car. No one ever helped us. We wound up returning to the Ashton only to discover that our car keys had been lost and at which point they began asking for a description of our vehicle. At this point I was nearing tears. When our car was finally returned the surly valet had a minor fit when my husband declined to give him a tip. I mean, really? You are rude, non-responsive, apparently incompetent, and then expect a tip? When we were leaving the young woman at the front desk apologized for the absolute disaster of a stay and said that she would have the manager contact us later that day to try to make the experience right. I told her that we would really appreciate a call. That was a Sunday morning, it has been three days since this happened. Any guesses? Yep, no call. No email...No comment. I completely understand that a couple's anniversary may not be a big deal to a business establishment, but it really was a special milestone to us. I also expected a level of excellence and service at an establishment of this caliber, or should I say the "purported" caliber. Never again! If I am hoping for quality, I will go to the Omni or even the faded albeit service-oriented Renaissance. I seldom write reviews and certainly try not to dwell on a negative experience, however, I am hoping I can save someone else some grief and incredible disappointment over a spoiled special event.

Beth Q.

Yelp
This hotel was awful. Do not waste your money. Not clean, temperature in the room was set at 54 degrees, and it took hours to warm it up. Hot water only available at bathroom sink faucets, and a knock on our door at 9 am from housekeeping. Seemed they wanted us out! Very disappointing.

Katrice S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Impeccable customer service. I could not have chosen a better location to have hosted my intimate wedding ceremony. The wine cellar was beautiful! Super cozy and exactly what we wanted. The 3 course dinner and cocktail hour with appetizers and champagne set the pace for the elegant dinner that followed. The butler and hostess/waitress were above and beyond what we expected. My day was perfect! It was everything I hoped it would be and then some.

Charles L.

Yelp
I want to give The Ashton a good review but can only get to mixed. The room was $360 and was nice and clean. I purchased valet parking with the room but no one from valet met us when we arrived. The desk clerk was nice and helpful but informed us there was no food service since COVID. Everyone else in the area is open so The Ashton seems to be falling behind. They advertised turndown service on their website. Didn't happen. The intersection below sounded like the starting line for a NASCAR race all night with people stopping and revving their engines. The room was spacious enough but a big part of the charm of historic boutique hotels is dining and the bar. The Ashton has neither for the time being.

D B.

Yelp
Sooo. We have not stayed here in many years. Booked a room for Friday night 2/27. An average rate of $219. Plus $35 for valet. Not bad. After checking in, I had no idea that the property had completely disintegrated. I'll start with the only positive: The front desk girl was very polite and sweet. No complaints there. The rest of the hotel is downhill from there - There is no Restuarant, or bar. The "snack" area is half empty. The gym is the size of a 5x10 closet and extremely claustrophobic. The worst part of this hotel was the cleanliness of the room. It was one of the worst I have experienced in a long time. And unfortunately once you unpack and settle in, it's just too much trouble to re pack and call downstairs and ask for a new room. (It was only one night) I am sure they would have been happy to accommodate, but seriously ? Should we have to ask ? There was pubic hair on the floor in the bathroom, the toilet was not clean, there was a used nail file sitting on the desk, and there was dried toothpaste on the wall. Disgusting. Again, I want to be clear that the front desk girl was very nice. But it doesn't make up for the rest of the hotel. Will definitely never be back. And do not recommend.

Robert L.

Yelp
Terrible service. This in no way lives up to the standard of a luxury hotel. My suggestion is to try some place else. BTW, I never leave reviews, but I hope you learn from my mistake.

Farzi S.

Yelp
Elegant hotel with lots of extra touches. They pay attention to detail. Rooms are clean and spacious. However the bathrooms need a major remodel, they are awkward and old, our room had a leak because of a broken tile that caused a leak into the lobby. Staff was nice, bed was comfortable.

Suann G.

Yelp
This review is for the high tea at the Ashton. We hosted a baby shower for a friend at High Tea. It was a lovely afternoon. We had a party of 12. The staff, food and service was fantastic. The tea costs $38 and includes valet parking. It is a good value, in my opinion. You have your choice of tea, and start with a small taste of soup. A variety of finger sandwiches, veggies and deviled eggs followed. These are all small snack size portions. But you will not leave hungry! The tea ended with hot scones, shortbreads and chocolate covered strawberries. The desserts were very large! It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it!

Joann F.

Yelp
Flew into Fort Worth for a night for business and stayed at The Ashton after finding a good deal on Expedia. Great price and absolutely loved where it was located downtown. We were greeted very warmly and given our room key, which was so unique. I fell in love with the ambiance, the friendliness and the location. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Bathroom is well lit and has a stand up shower. Outside you will find the prettiest stand up tub with massage options. Very romantic. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view of downtown through the window was great. Check in and check out process was easy and quick. Will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Fort Worth!

Sarah H.

Yelp
Love this hotel. It's my go-to. Small and feel boutique and personal. Staff is always super nice. Rooms are lovely. If you ask for a corner room, you should get a stand alone tub and shower. They also have Romance suites with big tubs for two. Beds are comfy. Location is great. There is no room service or bar, but they do serve breakfast downstairs and to your room. Great restaurants in walking distance. Highly recommend.

Anita N.

Yelp
We stayed for our anniversary and loved it. Our room was wonderful. Really comfortable bed. Very quiet. We had a fireplace which was lovely, the only room that has one. This place feels like a home, not a hotel. We will definitely be back to spend more time. Great location to Sundance Square for great dining, shopping and movies.

Douglas P.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for her birthday celebration weekend. It was a great experience! We will definitely stay here again. We highly recommend the Ashton!

Tayah B.

Yelp
Exceptional staff who goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. From umbrellas on a rainy day to hosted wine bar from 5-7pm Friday night! Every detailed courtesy was considered! Thank you for a great week in Ft Worth!

Robert S.

Yelp
We selected this hotel for the location and because it was a small boutique hotel. Great check in and friendly desk staff. On the second day of our stay we returned to our room to find that it had not been cleaned, no bed made no towels, no trash emptied nothing. Went downstairs at 4:30 in the afternoon and complained and were told housekeeping had left for the day, and that they have been short handed on staff. Room was comfortable but very expensive considering lack of housekeeping services. Also they do not have coffee downstairs you have to walk next door and purchase a cup of morning coffee. No amenities just a room.

Barb H.

Yelp
Might be the best hotel in DFW. It's beautifully decorated. The food is exceptionally good- try the mascarpone omelet. The bathrooms are the highlight. Great tubs and showers. All rooms Have excellent lightning, big windows. Comfortable beds. I added a picture of the gym. I had a hard time finding it. It's in the basement. Now you know. Also, restaurant is not 24/7 and hours are haphazard. Be sure to plan ahead re: food& drinks. Finally, if you need wine, walk 5 minutes to Oliver's. Descent selection also has cheeses, fruit/veggies.

Sharon S.

Yelp
The worst hotel in Ft Worth!!! Sure it's quaint and in a good location but that is it!! There are absolutely no amenities! The have limited breakfast and lunch options and a bar that is only open on Friday and Saturday! Dinner is a choice between a salad or a sandwich and only available through room service! It is delivered to your door in a disposable container and for that they charge a 20% service charge! Not to mention that the rooms are hideously small if you get their "Deluxe Signature Studio Suite". There is a room and a bathroom. How is that a suite? Look elsewhere for a room! The Omni is a very good choice! Chapter 2 - I order a half bottle of Mondavi Cab and I get a glass of Barefoot Cab. I let it go because it's late. The second night I order a half bottle of Cab and I get a half bottle of Chardonnay! They are out of Cab!!! That is the reason nothing is ever right! I hate this place!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at The Ashton for date night. When arrived, the hotel upgraded our room since we where repeat customers. The rooms are always in great condition and the staff are always helpful and caring. We would recommend The Ashton to anyone.

Yelp
Beautiful room!!!! Very comfortable bed, I came here for a short business trip and I have never slept so good in my life. I wanted to take the bed with me! The cafe attached is also great, I did not get a chance to taste the food, but the coffee was so good & gave me the pick me up I needed!

Yelp
Stayed at The Ashton after flying into DFW on the way back to California from Belize. The hotel was fabulous! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. On the way to our room one of the room stewards gave my husband and I bottled water and fresh homemade cookies. The room was amazing with a very comfortable bed. The room decor brought back the hotel's rich history. It was very classy and chic. The doorman was very friendly and had some great recommendations for dinner and things to do in the area. Though short, we truly enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Great place to stay. Excellent food and stellar service. Beds are comfortable and turndown service complete with homemade cookies plus a great downtown location make this a top hotel.

Yelp
If you need to stay in Forth Worth, then this is a lovely boutique hotel located in downtown. Easy access to the day/night life of Fort Worth. Very friendly staff. The place is clean, renovated and charming. I was here for a wedding and the food was fabulous! It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Positives: - location, service, convenience, food Negatives - small rooms, pricey, no fitness center, no view Great place for an event

Yelp
Nice boutique hotel with modern decor and spacious rooms. They balance the mod decor with a pair of fresh, homemade looking baked chocolate chip cookies on your bed. As someone with a major chocolate chip cookie tooth this is much, much appreciated. I've stayed here a few times and the service is typically comparable to the space. Although during one stay they actually checked me into a room that had been freshly painted. Yes, it certainly reeked as such. Low VOC paint they did not use. They first decided to try to air out the room and bring in fans before realizing blowing fumes around was not a way to actually remove the fumes. They finally moved me to another room after I complained again. Sorry, I don't want to join the hotel room death list- especially not by any misdeed on my part! The room service portions are normal size, especially compared to everywhere else I eat in Fort Worth. Serving sizes in the area are astronomical but here, I almost felt like my veggie egg white omlette was too small. It was fine, nothing spectacular. Oatmeal is pretty tasty. If you can, request a room with a tub. Something about the showers makes me dizzy. might be the tiles.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon and were very impressed with the Ashton! I spoke to Jorge prior to our arrival, who was kind enough to upgrade our suite to the incredibly gorgeous Presidential Suite. I can't say enough good things about the Ashton and its staff - but suffice it to say that they made our stay special enough that we're planning on returning for our anniversary. Would absolutely recommend the Asthon!

Yelp
We loved our stay! The room and bathroom were very spacious! We had a stand alone tub and a shower. The room was nice and quiet and the staff left us chocolate chips cookies. How nice! Plus the hotel itself has character and has a great location. It's a bummer about no room service, besides breakfast, but that didn't diminish our satisfaction. I would highly recommend it!

Yelp
Third stay, beautiful hotel, near Sundance Square. Watch final receipt if traveling in tax exempt status.

Yelp
this place is not as advertised! website deceitful! service is awful! no restaurant and no food except at breakfast. no bar! rooms run down! do not disturb on and maids still came in the room.. staff unprofessional in dress and actions.. if there was zero stars i would give zero.. clearly crippled by covid with no plan! even though the rest of the state is open. no wonder a room was available when the city is sold out! stay at the omni! stay anywhere but here! feel like we are in a prison ! will never be back

Yelp
Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the Ashton stands out for it's elegance and beauty. This boutique hotel has been fully renovated and restored, but thankfully they retained its unique architecture. Ladies, the bathrooms are amazing. Separate shower and tubs, huge vanities and an excellent supply of bathing products. Each room is also equipped with full, fluffy robes and slippers. I was disappointed that my boyfriend didn't think to get a room with a dresser for our four-day stay, and an upgrade was not available. The Ashton over delivered when I called to inquire, quickly sending up two rolling carts (the kind with drawers you can find at BB&B) making sure we were able to fit everything needed. The customer service was impeccable. The breakfast of pastries and fruit that I ordered every morning was always delivered within ten minutes and was unbelievably fresh. The coffee was strong and delicious. The beds were comfortable; the room was equipped with an ipod doc. I would recommend the Ashton to anyone staying in Fort Worth, it is definitely worth the price.

Yelp
Stayed at The Ashton on a recent girl's trip - Highly recommend. The room - King-sized bed in a spacious room for $360/night, including breakfast the next morning. Large suite with comfortable bed, very soft bedding and feather pillows. I enjoyed a plush robe, the in-room coffee, and the complimentary iPhone/iPod dock. Free wi-fi. The hotel - Just gorgeous. Business center, including computer and printer. Fitness center (which I never saw). Breakfast - $50 for two people. The eggs benedict, fruit bowl, and OJ was wonderful. Loved the 4pm house keeping service. The bed was turned down, cookies and ice were brought in. Very nice touch! Friendly and helpful concierge & valet ($20/night for valet).

Yelp
Do yourself a favor; next time you are in the Fort Worth area and need to stay in a hotel, stay at the Ashton. A date night with the wife was made extra special by staying at the Ashton. After dinner down the street, we wanted to watch the second half of the Cowboys game. We went back to Ashton to sit at the bar, the tv wasn't on and there were a few people enjoying a quiet dinner. We asked the bartender (never got her name but she was great) if we could order some drinks and go sit in the lobby. She did better and told us to go sit and she would come to us for orders and serve us in the lobby. The drinks stayed full and it made for a really nice moment with some dear friends. When we returned to the room, we had fresh cookies from the hotel service team waiting for us on our pillows. Great experience and we will be back next time we are in the area. The personal service makes all the difference in a world of corporate hotels.

Yelp
My wife and I booked the "Summer Stay and Save" package at The Ashton for our Anniversary after I had basically made my mind up to stay at The Adolphus in Dallas. The fact that they upgraded us to a Suite to celebrate our special occasion made the decision even easier for us. The location is perfect. We walked to a fantastic dinner at Grace which is located across the street. The room has floor to ceiling windows larger than most garage doors and the bathroom is extremely nice with a very large jacuzzi tub/shower. We have heard that the hotel's restaurant, Six 10 Grille, is excellent as well however we did not get the opportunity to try it out. As The Ashton is located just off Sundance Square, there IS some street noise until 1ish in the a.m. but that should be expected. Upon check out, we were being charged for overnight valet parking ($17) and when I called the front desk to point out that was included with the package we purchased it was removed with no delay. We also had a fun event with the housekeeping staff when they knocked on our door while we were getting ready for dinner and when I opened the door to let them know we were "OK" right now the kind lady said "OK" back to me and then walked right in and started straightening up our room for the evening. It wasn't a big deal as we were basically ready to go and the cookies she left us were enjoyed later in the evening. Beautiful small hotel, registered on the Historical Hotels of America, prime location near Sundance Square, this is a fantastic hotel to spend a night or a weekend!

Yelp
This formerly charming hotel in the heart of downtown Fort Worth has new owners, and a new "can't-be-bothered" ethos. We've stayed at the Ashton at least twice before, the first time for Christmas 2006, and we've recommended it to friends as an affordable gem: comfortable beds in contemporary but luxe rooms, warm and professional staff, a very good restaurant and bar, and not only pet-friendly, but pet enthusiastic. This year, we booked two rooms for three nights over the Thanksgiving weekend and it was like another place - our reservation was mixed up and the staff was only mildly interested in fixing it, the ceiling in our shower featured a rusty hinge on an HVAC trap door, not all of the lights in our room worked, and the phones only worked intermittently. I mentioned the latter problem to the front desk - "I'd like to order coffee service for the room, but the phone's not working" - and got no reaction (he directed me to the bar for help, where no one was on duty). The front desk no longer greets guests as they enter and leave - faces are trained resolutely on the computer screen - and the bellman, who's stationed right inside the front door, is far more interested in his smart phone than opening the door, even when guests' hands are full. Worse - if the restaurant hopes to attract the general public as well as its guests - the bartender had no discernible bartending experience (likely the reason the place was deserted by its discouragingly early closing time), and the one meal we had was mediocre. But I didn't get the impression that the staff didn't care so much as they were young, inexperienced, and untrained -- which means it's the owners and management who don't care. In which case they should lower the prices, and customer expectations.

Yelp
I stayed at The Ashton for the first time this past weekend and My experience was very unsatisfactory. Upon entering the hotel which has a lovely lobby, we were unenthusiastically greeted by the cold staff. When trying to check in there was a mix up with my reservation. The staff resolved the problem very quickly and we were sent to our room. The Room - A pretty spacious suite. Large King Size Bed, Large luxurious Bathroom with a very inviting tub/shower. It didn't take long to settle in the room and get comfortable. We stayed in and relaxed in bed that evening while watching TV. The Issue - A few hours into the night our neighbors started smoking and you could smell it throughout the entire floor. The Ashton is widely advertised as a Non-Smoking facility. The guests in the room next to us continued smoking all night long. Smoke was coming into our room from the connecting door and the smell was awful. It was making us sick. Around Midnight we contacted the front desk to let them know of the situation. They said there was nothing they could do about it. I find that totally unacceptable. They moved us to another room on a different floor. The room they moved us to was much smaller than the original suite I had been in. It still had a comfortable king bed and at that point we just wanted to get to sleep. Overcharged - In the morning we ordered room service which was supposed to be included in my overnight rate due to the terms of the online booking special I got when I made my reservation. The breakfast was very good, and the server who brought it to our room was very friendly and genuine. When we went to go check out the computer system was down and they did not have a bill for me. They told me they would e-mail it to me. They didn't have anything for me to sign, they didn't ask me how my stay was, they did not even tell me "Goodbye" or "Thanks for staying with us" or "Sorry we had to move you". Nothing. Very unfriendly. A few days later I was sent my bill via e-mail. They had charged me for the suite that I originally booked but did not end up staying in, and they charged me $50 for breakfast that was supposed to be complimentary. I visited their website to see if I could find an e-mail to contact them about the problems I had, and their website has no answers. Only and e-mail for someone to contact about catering and booking for weddings. Very terrible customer service. Very terrible hospitality ethics. I live in Fort Worth and I will never recommend The Ashton to anyone.

Yelp
We stayed in room 505 and it was spectacular. The restaurants & bars that conveniently snuggle its prime downtown location make it perfect for an upscale date night. The room was a piece of art. High ceilings towered above us in the suite and the windows peered into the downtown area; we paid the extra $19.00 a night ($219.00 total) to have a room with a view. The bathroom was very well designed with excellent tiling stepping up to the the long bathtub and back down into the heavy glass enclosed shower. Screw the chain hotels, splurge a bit & enjoy this fine one-of-a-kind boutique gem of a hotel.

Yelp
The Ashton is a nice hotel, but I had much higher expectations, especially for it being "historic" and "luxery." When we arrived we asked where we shold parked and were greeted by an older door man who asked, "why are you here?" Well sir, we are checking into the hotel you work at. It didn't get much better from there, The front desk wasn't very friendly either. The room, meh. There was a water damage spot on the ceiling, ink stains on the bed, wallpaper coming up in the bathroom, hair in the bathtub and cheap toilet paper that you could see through. We should have gone to the La Quinta, at least there we could had a complimentary breakfast and saved ourselves atleast $200.

Yelp
Lovely boutique hotel with really spacious room and bathroom. Things I loved: 1) being able to put the luggage valet in the bathroom 2) water and cookies in the room. Really good cookies! 3) lighted magnifying glass in bath 4) lots of plugs for electronics 5) powerful hair dryer 6) Awesome staff!
