50 Best Restaurants in India, From Kasauli to Kolkata | Condé Nast Traveler

"Assagao’s The ASSA House leans into French bistro rigor—black-and-white tiles, a handsome bar and garden—with classic plates like French onion soup, beef fillet dauphinoise, lamb confit, baked brie and an elegant cocktail program (praline fat-washed whisky, Palorita with yuzu and pistachio salt), delivering a timeless, unpretentious bistro experience." - Karina Acharya

Six of us girls went on a Sunday night without much expectation. The owner was very friendly and chatty. I was sceptical as too friendly sometimes translates to not so good food lol. I was wrong and how. The food was phenomenal and so were the drinks. The ambience was nice. The restroom had no water but I guess they would have fixed it by now. Overall a great experience PS: I loved the food despite having eaten at our airbnb before we left , so kudos to the chef! Highly recommended

Absolutely excellent food and a great ambience. Every dish was well prepared and delicious - we ordered the prawns, calamari, risotto, mezze and more. The owner is right there to keep an eye on things, and the results are apparent. Lovely speakeasy upstairs, very intimate with live jazz on Thursdays. Sensible pricing too. Definitely a place to visit again and again!

This is what a tourist trap feels like. We were a big party of about 15 people. When we arrived at the place late at around 10:30 pm , we enquired with the host if they would be able to accomodate us this late in the night even though there was only a few guests. The host was really confident . When we started ordering food we came to know that most of the non veg items were out of stock. The confit chicken which we wanted to try was also out , they said they will pan fry chicken instead . They really hyped up a veg kebab platter which was actually one of the worst things i ever tried in Goa. Their pesto pasta was ok but little too salty. The calamari starter was also a flop as it was on a bed of tomato flavoured sauce. The calamari rings were one of the smallest I have ever seen. Due to the starters we skipped ordering the mains as we didn't want to be disappointed again.Absolutely not worth the price and hype. The only thing we truly enjoyed were the hand cut fries and the drinks. Lastly, the seats were really rickety not some thing you expect from a fancy place.

This beautiful restaurant based in a little green corner is Assagao is my absolute fav! Love the ambiance, the coromandel chicken curry and spanakopita's are to die for! Also in my opinion their picante's are the best in all of Goa! An absolute must visit.

It was our 2nd visit in as many years! The food is delectable, the ambience classy. Though I prefer to stick to the European menu, but they have introduced a coromandal thali for people who prefer local fare. Definitely worth a visit if you are in North Goa .

Underwhelming and over priced ! We went here as a group of 16 including kids for a family and friends dinner on holiday after reading all the good reviews and it was not a good experience at all . For a restaurant claiming to be a continental European restaurant it has very few options especially in non vegetarian. I felt personally it was a gimmicky restaurant with vegetarian dishes fancied up a bit to please North Indian pure veg tourists ..we tried to order chicken and they informed it was out of stock , the other items we ordered were miniscule in quantity for the price and it was so underwhelming in flavor . the only good item we had was a mocktail and that it self was so overpriced . Word to the wise , skip this place and go to the old favorites in Goa like Brittos ! Coming to the ambience - it was dark, the chairs we sat were so old and creaky and uncomfortable . I wish there was one redeeming quality I could write about but there is none honestly!

Went there for my fiance's birthday dinner. The food was impressive, the service immaculate and vibe special. They really went out of their way to make the night a highlight of our trip

Excellent for people who understand french cooking and flavours. We were delighted by the quality of the food and the recommendations that came from the owner.
