The Assemblage John Street

Out of town friends were visiting and chose this new(ish) boutique hotel in downtown Manhattan. The room was large and well appointed, including a small, modern, kitchen area. Super convenient location. The amenities were unique and amazing. Everything from yoga and meditation classes to an elixir bar where you can combine natural ingredients to address what ails you. My friends loved it and even though I didn’t sleep there I spent plenty of time there and loved it as well. Happily recommending to all my friends.

went there for a lecture during the Winter Jazz Festival. beautiful conference room with tapestries, rugs, designer sofas and armchairs. the acoustics are perfect for setting up a lecture. The staff is great too. The views are not that great. The art on the walls is nothing memorable. restrooms are OK but could be better. I haven't tried the hotel bedrooms.

Absolutely lovely hotel! The Assemblage John Street is a peaceful oasis in the midst of busy Manhattan. The atmosphere is refreshing, welcoming and calming. Customer service was excellent. John and the rest of the front-desk staff went above and beyond to ensure an excellent stay!

First time in the States and New York and my husband and I stayed for 4 nights at The Assemblage. The location near Wall street, 9/11 memorial and the subway was excellent. Our room was spacious and very well equipped and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was the icing on the cake of a fantastic surprise pre Christmas break.

Great location, beautiful concept, well designed with large rooms but sadly with poor customer service and lack of privacy and consistency. The cleaning staff went through my personal belongings in my room one day and nothing was done by the hotel nor an apology from management after reporting to them. Don’t recommend and will not return.

This review is for the hotel. I stayed as a “staycation” from the stress of living in NYC. This hotel was way beyond my expectations. The hotel room was actually an apartment. And it was HUGE by NYC standards. Beautiful, very modern, well appointed, full kitchen- brought groceries and cooked; quiet, peaceful, large balcony. Front desk staff was great. I wish I lived there.

The Assemblage is quite exceptional. From the spacious room, with its extremely comfortable bed, to its small kitchen with all the comforts of home. After a long day in the city, you can come back, dim your lights sip fresh tea and relax. The staff is second to none, very helpful and truly care about your stay at the Assemblage as well as NYC. The aromas throughout the hotel are of an earthy scent and were very appealing to my senses, especially after walking the streets of the city. The Assemblage has a very calm and soothing atmosphere with words of Solitude and acceptance of oneself throughout the building. You find artwork in the stairwell from the bleeding heart, to words of self acceptance. Should my travels bring me back to NYC. The Assemblage will be my place to stay.

There aren't enough good things to say about the co-working space at The Assemblage. There are plants everywhere! Incredibly calming when you arrive. The staff is ALWAYS welcoming at the front desk to the elixir bars upstairs. At times some people disregard that other people are working and focusing but that's what co-working is about. It's actually helped me focus more. Yoga classes, discussions, meeting spaces, food, and an awesome community make this place well worth the membership. If you're even a little bit curious, take a tour, you'll fall in love with the space. It's a beautiful, nature-inspired, ayurvedic-focused, community filled space. If you are meditative and enjoy peaceful settings in the big city, stay here or utilize the co-working space! You will not regret it.
