The August House (Boutique Inn in Windsor, NS)

We had such a great stay at August House. It has this really warm, boutique vibe that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The rooms were way bigger than we expected and super comfy—really well put together without feeling overdone. The included breakfast was delicious and such a nice way to start the day. The location is awesome too—just a short walk to a great restaurant and even a concert venue, so getting around was super easy. Overall, August House has tons of charm and is really convenient. I’d definitely stay here again.

Our stay at The August House was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful and thoughtfully decorated every space was. Every room is warm, elegant, super comfortable and full of charm. The attention to detail made it feel both luxurious and welcoming. Breakfast was a highlight each morning — fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care (that baked oatmeal!). The hosts were fabulous. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

What a delight. The Team at August House hosted our daughter’s wedding this past weekend and it was impeccable. Everything and I mean everything was perfectly executed. Stunning guest rooms and common areas. Warm and welcoming service. The owners and staff were so, so kind. The entire event was all smiles, we were made to feel completely special. The inn works seamlessly with Hive Hospitality on the food and beverage side and again not enough good things can be said about these culinary experts. The meals for 60 were best in class. Thank you for making these days so wonderful. As a footnote we had friends simply stay at the inn earlier this summer. They as well, were completely blown away by the quality and warmth of August House and their team. Thank you to all involved!!

We’re just coming off the most incredible three-day stay at The August House, where we hosted some of our closest family and friends for an intimate on-site wedding. It was even better than we could have imagined. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was seamless. Everyone was in awe of how effortlessly beautiful and welcoming it all was. The August House team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Every detail was so thoughtfully considered, the breakfasts were amazing, and the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. The new stained glass window in the outdoor space created the most stunning backdrop for our ceremony. You can feel the love and care that Laura, Collette, and Ezra have poured into every inch of this place. It’s rare to find somewhere that feels this intentional, peaceful, and personal. We’ll forever be grateful for how you helped make our wedding so special. We’re already counting down the days until we can come back!

We had a lovely stay at The August House while attending an event in Wolfville. The owners are so friendly and accessible by text or call. Self check-in was nice. The room was beautiful and spacious with a very comfortable king bed. Breakfast was delicious. We appreciated all the thoughtful details in every space in the inn. Lots of great walking trails and restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay in this peaceful, well-appointed Inn and will return anytime we get the chance! The rooms are inn size and are tastefully decorated and include everything you need. Super comfy beds. The lounge area is lovely and it was great to have tea available. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, enjoyed in a really nice open space. Thank you !

Great boutique hotel. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Room are very nice, updated. In the evening I sat in the living room with a glass of wine and felt like I had the entire home to myself. Very quiet. Bonus - breakfast was excellent. Best hotel scrambled eggs I’ve ever had! And I travel a lot for work! The hosts and owners were super friendly!

After a hiking trip through the Canadian Maritimes, we decided to stay at The August House to wind down from our trip before heading home. We stayed in Room 1 (the "Best-of-King Suite") and could not have been happier about the accommodations. The room was spotless, spacious, and modern. The bed was comfortable and the sunroom attached to the suite was lovely. It was clear that the owners had thought carefully about the rooms, because it had everything that we needed and more! The August House had contactless check-in, which was very convenient and easy. Yet, at the same time, there was nothing about the place that ever felt sterile or impersonal. The hotel was an easy walk to some cute restaurants and shops in Windsor. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was a very pleasant surprise. We expected and would have been happy with a very limited continental breakfast, but The August House instead served a variety of in-house made, fresh breakfast choices in a really nice dining room. Don't skip the bread, it was great! The next time we are in Nova Scotia, we will definitely be back.
