Had a great lunch here pre footy! Shared loads of food. Loved the cauliflower, popcorn shrimp and the real winner was the crispy halloumi! Nikki provided great service and it was nice to chat to the Chef Zandie.

Poppy you are our absolute fav sis! Not only did you keep the drinks and vibes coming but you made my husbands birthday one of his favorite memories. We appreciate you! And we love the aviary brunch!

Fabulous birthday bottomless brunch for my friend. Food was awesome. Loved the selections of bottomless drinks that was the bonus. Chloe who waited on us was Fabulous. Happy and friendly and on the ball. She even greeted us at the stairs as it was a surprise for our friend and there was friends upstairs waiting. Thank you Chloe and cheers to the Aviary for accommodating our loud bunch x

Google
A Toast to Poppy at The Aviary At The Aviary, where brunch dreams come true, We found bottomless joy — and a wonderful view. But what made it shine, through drizzle and wet, Was Poppy, a star we won’t soon forget. Though rain gently fell from the overcast sky, She served with a smile, never letting it die. Attentive and kind, with warm-hearted flair, She brightened the mood with impeccable care. With glasses kept full and spirits kept high, She moved through the tables with sparkle in eye. Friendly and graceful, she stood out with ease, Bringing brunch to perfection — and guests to their knees! So here’s to The Aviary, rooftop and charm, And to Poppy, who served us with passion and calm. A five-star experience, rain couldn’t quench — Just joy, laughter, bubbles — and a brunch to entrench.

Yelp
This is a very trendy rooftop bar and restaurant located in the downtown (central business district) area. Conveniently located near the train station, not even a block walking distance. Hard to find because I was not looking up to find the signage. Once inside, you go up some very unique stairs (they had cutesy sayings painted on them) and then a couple flights up you are at the rooftop bar. It was a public holiday when I went, and it was pretty dead (nice and quiet just the way I like it). Beautifully decorated, dark polished wood high top tables, great view of the city. My friend had a bubbly and I ordered a French rose which was nice and dry, about $11 a glass. We shared a cherry tomato and basil pizza, pretty much a Margherita pizza, for $18. It was just ok, nothing to write home about. What got on my nerves was they wouldn't let me take home the leftovers, something about they aren't licensed for takeout? (Lame) The bar is a gorgeous gray marble counter, staff were not all that enthused but maybe because it was a holiday. There is a strict dress code that is outlined on signage before you enter. No tank tops, even in hot weather? I get it that it is trendy and all but sheesh.

Yelp
This is technically a railway pub namely because it is located on top of the entrance to the Perth Underground Railway Station. Actually, the bar covers the top two levels of the building - sort of, namely because it is sort of tucked under a second building. Basically it is a rooftop bar, though not so high up as to afford some amazing views of the surroundings. When I was here it was pretty empty, though it still has a nice charm about it, though it does fall into the rather classy category. Fortunately, most of the rooftop area is undercover, so you don't get shut out when it starts raining.

Yelp
To be fair I wanted to give the Aviary 3.5 stars but since I cannot do that, 3 it is then; it is probably my age showing but whilst I like most things about the venue there are some things that just don't gel with me. Firstly the good! The staff are generally helpful, the drinks list is good, and the food is fairly interesting, plus the venue itself is fairly original. The not so good, it gets crazy busy, like can't order a drink busy; and when the DJ gets going it is impossible to speak; and there is often not enough cover from the sun during the day; nothing major but there are other venues better suited to me I guess.

Yelp
The rooftop is such a cool place to go to. I've been to a few events here and it has so much to offer. Great variety of cocktails (a bit on the pricey side but they don't skimp on the alcohol) and other drinks on offer. They regularly run promos. They have a members club which is actually awesome and recommend (it's valid at the areas in the Aviary). Plenty of varied seating, from stools to benches to comfy seats and seats that you can get cosy on and lie down if you wish. It's on the roof do on the warmer months it's extra lovely. If you're sitting on the boundary you can look down and watch the world go by if you wish. The bar food is also pretty tasty, at the last event I went to it was food to match the beer that we were sampling and I must say the slider we had was really really tasty. I'm yet to order anything other than chips from the bar menu though but I must say they were yummy too! The staff are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back there again as it really has it all.

Yelp
I didn't know what to expect of this place. I will admit I wasn't expecting a good experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised and had a great time. My experience was confined to the rooftop bar. The crowd seemed to be essentially over 30s with a significant number of over 40s. (I actually felt young). Drinks were on the pricey side but find me a inner city rooftop bar anywhere in the world with cheap drinks. Staff were polite. The place didn't seem to get too over crowded. Wait times for a drink weren't excessive. The atmosphere was awesome. Clientele were all nice and I never sensed any attitude or aggression. I guess the bogans aren't attracted to this place. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
This place is convenient because of it's location in the city, and me and a girlfriend popped by on a Saturday night before our 9pm dinner elsewhere. We didn't sit at the rooftop area because it was too noisy and we wanted to unwind and have some words. We sat on the lower level, where the walls and ceiling are decorated with bird and cage motifs. We got a random house red and I couldn't decide between the two Chardonnays sold by glass, so our friendly short-haired female server gave me a taster of both so I could decide - good service! We also got the squid with pink pepper to munch on. The squid was fresh and juicy, with pink pepper. I thought pepper all over would be too spicy, but I was wrong. The pink pepper has a small kick but a fragrance which went well with the squid. Cost about 30+ for two here. I would come here again, maybe for a nightcap.

Yelp
Perth's newest and largest rooftop bar is the current flavour of the month. A rooftop bar has undeniable appeal in any city however, there's just something little bit ostentatious and manufactured about this one. From the patrons to the astro-turf lawn, it's all a bit artificial. It's a large venue, spanning two levels and the bird theme is carried throughout the décor in a pretty literal way. The rooftop features two bars, a large projector screen and a marble fireplace in the centre. Hype has made The Aviary a crowded place on most nights. In the weeks it's been open, I've been turned away at 5:30pm on a Friday due to the entire two storey venue being booked out to functions. Another time I was naive thinking I'd beaten the crowds arriving before 9:30pm, only to find a sizeable cue with a thirty-minute wait. I'll admit it's lovely to enjoy a drink and watch the sun go down over the city from the roof, but it's not somewhere I feel at home. It's not a 'kick back and relax' kind of bar and more of a 'place to be seen'.

Yelp
The Aviary has a bit of a bad rep for two reasons - the staff are rude and the cocktails leave a lot to be desired. I have to say I'm not big on cocktails so I can't comment on the latter. I have noticed the bar staff aren't the friendliest but that's nothing new when it comes to Perth bars. Neither of the above matter that much really though, because it's not the type of place you would be coming for a heavy night of cocktails or a chat with a barman who's a good listener! It's best to go here with a group on a Thursday or Friday evening for after work drinks and maybe a few nibbles from the quality platters they do. It's got everything you would want for that kind of occasion - a nice bit of sun and a great atmosphere to wind down and chat in.

Yelp
Recommended this bar by the person I'd met for coffee earlier that morning, I declined their idea of drinking an entire bottle of scotch (more of a winter idea ) and instead selected one of the Feral Brewing beers available from a fairly extensive menu. To chase it down and combat the summer heat I also ordered a pineapple juice - I would have loved if there were some juice blends or mocktails on offer to counteract the caffeine and alcohol intake. Nevertheless, the Sly Fox was a delicious drop and the service from the bartender prompt and friendly. While this seems like a fantastic place to hang out with a crowd, it's also ideal for secret rendezvous in the massive high back chairs on the side closest to the street. Perfect for if you're sharing secrets with your bestie or meeting that new man that you don't want your friends to know about yet. The people-watching potential looking down on the mall is pretty fabulous too.

Yelp
The Aviary boasts a number of spaces. The Bird Cage is its restaurant. The Nest is its rooftop bar. My review here is of the latter: a beautifully designed watering hole that combines a certain hipster mentality with a degree of exclusivity. A Saturday afternoon at the bar is a good opportunity to observe the former quality. Groups sit around enjoying wine and food--everyone seems to be eating the very impressive-looking wagyu burgers--while the large screen at the end of the bar shows the movie LABYRINTH. A Gen Y favourite that nostalgia has preserved and that the horn-rimmed have made cool. The thongs have been kicked off and everyone is letting the Astroturf tickle the soles of their feet. Things are a little different at night. For one things, thongs aren't allowed anymore, and on Friday and Saturday groups can secure themselves a VIP table for one thousand and eight hundred dollars, respectively. This is where the sense of exclusivity is to be felt. (As it is in the fact that one requires written permission from the owner to take photographs. Mine were taken before I was warned not to take any more.) The wine list is short but solid, offering at least one example of each major varietal by the glass and favouring Western Australia, South Australia and New Zealand. (There are also two French champagnes.) The cocktail list is even shorter, and the drinks on it tend towards the sweet end, but all are well-suited to the sun-kissed setting. Which is, in the end, the bar's real draw. The Aviary's Nest is the perfect place to while away the afternoon and usher in the rather more exclusive evening.

Yelp
Great Place for drinks on A saturday night! Very happening crowd..didn't come here for food so not sure about that. Maybe next time. Good variety of cocktails and I think they probably do good food service as well. Al Fresco area, cool seating and a lot of interesting events going on all the time!

Yelp
We were warmly welcomed by staff, and as it was early in the afternoon the place was very empty. Staff on level 2 helped us download and use the app which allowed us to get discounts and special offers for drinks and food. We ordered a pork and chilli pizza, which was very good, but the pork used on it was very fatty which is my only criticism. The Green lantern cocktail and watermelon caprioska were also great drinks, and came with a very detailed garnish, would highly recommend the watermelon caprioska.

Yelp
I absolutely love the concept of a rooftop bar and the Aviary's Nest Rooftop is the best in town! It ticks all the right boxes, al fresco area, cool seating, cosy nooks and even fabulous hanging egg chairs! I have still to experience the joy of sitting in one of the swinging egg chairs as they are always highly coveted. Never you fear, I will get there early one day and snag one and then it might be a struggle to get me out of it. Can you almost picture me, sitting there, serenely sipping my cocktail a look of pure pleasure on my face swinging away to my heart's content? Bliss! The cocktails at The Nest are lovely to look at and pack a punch. I am working my way through the cocktail menu and so far I have enjoyed the Marshmallow Sour (complete with marshmallow swizzle), French 75 and the Mojito. The food is always amazing no matter what you choose. The fish and chips I tried was delicious and had a spicy edge to it. The lamb ribs and the popcorn shrimp with Tabasco mayo are so tasty, you will not want to share them! I also love the soft shell crab sliders and the Reuben sandwich. The soft shell crab sliders are a steal at $20 for three and the flavour is enhanced by the Singapore chilli and the crunchy slaw. There is always a fun event to celebrate special days! This year alone, I have had the pleasure of attending Canada Day, Christmas in July and The Ice Bar party. The celebrations are themed, so you enjoy the food and drink pertaining to the event. On Canada Day, there was a moose, poutine, Montreal sandwiches, Bloody Cesars, Canada Dry cocktails and more. There were giveaways and everyone had a great time. Christmas in July was wonderful with an Ugly Sweater competition and really brightened up our winter! The recent Ice Bar party saw the Nest transformed into a winter wonderland. Snowflakes, giant ice sculptures and cocktails served in glasses fashioned from ice were the order of the day! There was a competition to win several bar cards! All you had to do was pick away for 2 minutes at a giant ice block and release your prize! It was a hoot, watching people armed with the ice pick, shearing away at the ice! There is always music and on some days there is even some live entertainment. The staff at the Nest are young, friendly and efficient. They are good sports as they always get into the spirit of things and dress up for event days. Join up as a member of the Aviary and you will reap the benefits. You will receive invitations to exclusive members' parties, a complimentary cocktail for you and your friend on your birthday, a point for every dollar you spend and much more! So, if you are looking for a lovely, relaxed venue for you and your crew, take the stairway to the top and enjoy a break from frenzy that is life!

Yelp
The nest- situated in the avairy (logically on the roof) one thing's for sure. . . you'ld have to be pretty passionate about birds to work here! The name indicates there is a bit of a high flying theme but this branding takes no prisoners- that's what the statement peacock in the dining room said- making for the stairs to the roof I almost didn't notice the large bird cages suspended from the ceiling due to the bird infused wall paper. . . at this point I was starting to think maybe someone took this bird branding a bit too far. Luckily, when I made it to the roof the first thing I saw was not bar staff in bird costumes! As such I began to relax. The can turf on the roof is novel and although the beer and wine selections were limited- (the cocktail list was relatively uneventful) On a Wednesday arvo at beer O'clock it would be nearly impossible not to enjoy the surroundings. The bright yellow dwarfed tables reminded me of stylised mishrooms and the canturf looked like it would sport a great put put course if given the chance. (perhaps another opportunity to get some more birds on the scene with pink flamingo putters?) The wide screen playing music clips made for a summer days vibe but it was evident that this nest would transform with a clickier crowd when the sun went down. I'm happy to leave the fascinator at home and keep this nest for day time play.

Yelp
The Aviary is chic yet casual, and overall a fabulous place to hangout over chilled drinks and a delicious meal. Recently this has become a regular spot to hit for me and my girlfriends, it's a trendy place where you can dress nicely whilst enjoying the roof top view of the city. The serving sizes are huge and you would expect to pay a lot more than $24 for the location and vibe that The Aviary has to offer. It has a gorgeous summery feel to it, as the sun shines down on you, while you sit under bright umbrellas that are decked out on fake grass; or where you can enjoy the lovely summer nights out on the rooftop. This is a great place to hang out and meet up with groups of friends!

Yelp
OK so abit of a split here.... At night i would give this place a 1 star. You first have to line up to get inside. Then you have to line up all over again to get on the roof. And to make things worse, while you are lining up to get upstairs you cannot drink! Did this guy give them 5 stars by mistake? No..... On a Saturday during the day (around lunch) this place couldn't be better. 6 stars if i could. The selection of beers is great, the cocktail jugs are great value and the Pizza's are excellent. My fav are the crinkle cut chips with spicy aioli. Ok but whats so great about this place during the day? Well its the atmosphere. If you are lucky and get the corner lounge chair/bed thingo's, you will be able to lay back SMOKE and DRINK while having the food served to you. Its so relaxing. I really shouldn't be spoiling my favourite place to hang out by telling all you buggers :)

Yelp
A nice view of ... TARGET? I have to say the idea always did interest me when I first heard about this place a while back now. I have been during the day for a few beers and a meal when it had just opened and have to admit it is a more laid back atmosphere and on a day with nice weather it is an enjoyable experience. Having said that at night the place changes and all of a sudden there are huge lines to get in. The service is average for drinks. I haven't eaten here at night. I have to say there does seem to be a thick cloud of pretentiousness as you enter the deck area from the ramp entrance. Just last night a male patron that had clearly had a bit too much to drink (should he have been cut off at the bar) dropped a tray full of drinks right onto the floor right behind where me and my friends we sitting on a table in the middle of the deck area. No apology. And then he was gone. The bouncer that was nearby saw the whole incident and didn't really seem bothered that he had dropped drinks and broken glass all over the floor. When he did eventually come and clean up the mess he didn't even bother to ask if we were okay or if any glass had broken on/around us. This infact was the case too as a LOT of glass had broken and shattered all around where our feet were on the ground. UNIMPRESSED At this point the only thing left to do seemed to be to leave as some of my unfortunate friends' back were covered in whatever drinks the aforementioned drunk male patron had spilled beforehand. A bad end to what was initially a good night. It seems to be a place that people are desperate to been seen/heard in but that isn't really that cool or even appealing. The idea in essence is great... if you had decent views. But realistically when you are sitting the only view you have is that of an enormous target sign or other rooftops. Not really THAT appealing. Honestly if you want a good night out without drama/average service save yourself the time and go somewhere else. There are other bars/pubs out there with LOTS more to offer.

Yelp
The nest and the birdcage are both great places to go. I had been to the nest plenty of times for Friday drinks in the sun on the rooftop and decided to go to the birdcage restaurant for a change. The food and service in the restaurant was amazing, the pork buns are to die for and there was literally nothing I could fault. Great selection of wine, beer and cocktails and the decor is beautiful.

Yelp
Love love love this place!! I've only been here a few times but it never disappoints! Its the perfect mix between a chill night with your friends sipping on wine and devouring their sweet potato fries or working up a sweat on the dance floor. Their service is incredible with bar staff attending to you reasonably quick and the wait staff managing to work their way through a busy crowd to find you at your table to deliver your food. Their strawberry daiquiris are an all time favourite amongst myself and my friends, with a large range of other cocktails at affordable prices considering the venue. I went last weekend and danced until closing, heading to The Aviary definitely made it one of the best nights me and my friends have had in a very long time.
google avatar

Mitchell J.

Yelp
I've been to the Aviary about five times and every time say that this will be the last. It's not that anything is exceptionally bad about it, (although the service is generally rude and I don't rate the drinks list) it's just that nothing is overly good. You're paying premium Perth prices (which I'm fine with) but this isn't a premium Perth bar. Sure it's nicely decorated and is modern, but it has no real atmosphere or anything to distinguish it. It's one redeeming feature is that it's a rooftop bar, however the crowd is usually that busy you can't see anything and when you can you get a nice view of Target. I genuinely prefer the Conservatory as it's got a friendlier vibe, better value for money and a more relaxed crowd.
google avatar

Rhys O.

Yelp
Wandered in to The Aviary for Sunday lunch because of it's central location in the CBD, went up to the rooftop bar and was disappointed to find a limited menu as we weren't really in the mood for burgers or pizza. As we were about to leave we popped our heads in to the Birdcage restaurant situated directly below the rooftop bar and were very excited to find they were doing their own version of Dim Sum for $30 per head. We had a set menu of roughly ten separate dishes which were all delicious and still maintained some resemblance to a traditional dim sum with the slow cooked pork spare rib being the highlight as the meat literally fell apart. I can't speak for anything else on the menu but I can highly recommend the Dim Sum with a twist!
google avatar

Kally W.

Yelp
I really didn't think I would enjoy the Aviary but I have to say that a Sunday sesh at The Nest was great. And being open-air, a summer Sunday sesh was particularly good. There's lots of room and a lot of places to sit or even lie down (huge wicker chairs anyone!?) to enjoy your afternoon or night. The bar serves alcohol and food and they have a range of cocktails in jugs that are amazing but also a bit dangerous! Music is average but good for background to noisy chatter. It can be a bit pricey but if you're splitting cocktail jugs with a friend or doing rounds, you should be fine :)
google avatar

Alice H.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for a Sunday sesh. Sun and shade for those who don't want to burn, live music by the talented local muso's, good drinks, good food, and when it is hot they have those mister fans running. Why I come back? It's trendy but not too pretentious. The cocktails jugs are refreshing for summer. The food is good (I'm currently eyeing off seconds of the sage and pork sausage rolls). That and I love the music ;-) keep it up!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Nice bar to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city below. Plenty of space with many different places for groups to gather. Very nice range of beers on tap and nice range of spirits for the various cocktails on offer. The bar serves food, mostly things to be shared which was good for the occasion and they even had a big screen showing the Freo vs. swans game although it didn't look like a typical footy crowd but hats off to making the effort. A little chilly in the current weather but in summer it would be a great place to spend an afternoon session or a warm evening. Like every thing in Perth it is a little pricey
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
I love the idea of rooftop bars and this one is in a wonderful location right in the heart of beautiful Perth! :) However, it's too expensive for what you get. It becomes tiresome when new things open in Perth and automatically they slap on the high prices, twice as much as other cities, for what ever reason I don't understand! Yes the view is nice, well done. The food is meh. The drinks - well they are pretty standard - straight from the tap or bottle. Cocktails - WOWSER, expensive and yet not perfected. I love my cocktails and I can tell a real Cosmopolitan from a.... bit of vodka and cranberry juice - it's not the same thing. I love the concept and on a sunny day it's wonderful up there, but I highly recommend you save your pennies before you visit.
google avatar

Sandra T.

Yelp
The mains were amazing! I had the Roast Pork Belly and it tasted divine - tender pork belly, sticky and crunchy skin with the freshness of the green paw paw and coconut salad. The staff recommended the pork belly as it was one of the specialty. Great pick! I tasted the Crab and Scallop Risotto and it was great too especially the melt in the mouth scallops. Happy x 2! I was quite full at this stage but thought I couldn't leave without trying the desserts, and it was good that we did. The Coconut Pannacotta was very refreshing flavoured by the chilli pineapple jam and lychee - it was my first time trying this kind of sauce. It was nice and grew on me. The Pecan & Maple pie on the other hand was very sweet and the nougat ice cream added even more to the sweetness. This is really the dish for all the sweet tooths out there! Somehow I managed to finish it and had a big sugar rush! Hehe Overall it was an enjoyable dinner with great and friendly service. I love the recommendations by the staff! I'm glad I decided to try this place out even though I'd heard average reviews from friends. Would be back again!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
The Avairy is one of my favourite city bars in Perth. The location is amazing if you are like me and don't say no to a quick drink after shopping in the city. If you are lucky enough to get a table, you'll be able to enjoy great cocktails in the sun and the food is not to be passed by either!
google avatar

Hayley R.

Yelp
The Aviary's location (smack back in the middle of the city), decor (bright, playful but not tacky) and rooftop (hello fresh air and sunshine) draw me here every few months. Whether it's post-Friday night shopping drinks, a Sunday session, or meeting point for a big crew, it's a multi-purpose bar that's seriously convenient. But... there's a few things that take the shine off. No pints (but schooners at pint prices) is one of them. Service also varies a lot - I've experienced helpful, friendly bar people as well as a few grumpy and cold souls. Food has been delicious but at times, average. I'm torn between giving three or four stars - it's a great spot for a few rooftop drinks, but I seem to end up here out of convenience rather than being wooed by stellar drinks or service. I'll review again during this summer!

Yelp
This place really knows how to hold an event. I came here for a work function. We were a bit early so went upstairs for a drink first to the rooftop bar. It was a Wednesday night about 5:30 and the place was packed. They had the heaters going which was nice. I loved it up here, the bar was amazing and there were heaps of places to sit. The event was in the Bird Cage which had been hired out. There was espresso martinis and cosmos being made all night and it was definitely one of the best espresso martinis I have had. They did have some mini sliders going around and but meat looked a tiny bit too pink for my liking but all the other food that was there was just as amazing as the cocktails. I have never been on a Friday after work because I see the line going out the door but it will be a place a go back to many times. Loved it all.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Well, we wanted some good pub food and a few drinks to end a Friday night. I can't fault the drinks but also that's hard to get wrong. The popcorn shrimp tasted like, well, almost nothing. It was cooked well but really if you deep fry anything surely it tastes better? Apparently not here. My Rueben sandwich was dry. Like a desert. It sucked. Chips are good. Pro tip: drink here and come with a full stomach. The place looks great..... Not good enough to counteract the shizen food.

Li S.

Yelp
I have been waiting a long time for Perth to get a roof top bar. We have one of the most beautiful cities in the world with the best weather in the world, so we should have loads of these! Now if we did have loads of these, maybe the prices would come down a bit. It was very very pricey to drink here and ultra packed. I didn't really enjoy my time here due to the fact it was so busy, however if I sat here on a nice quiet afternoon and if someone else paid for the drinks, the experience would be a delight- however I cant see that happening any time soon. The views from this roof top bar are quite sensational but I wouldnt queue in two lines to get in, I just dont have the patience for that shit.

Yelp
This is second visit and we go back because the food and atmosphere are lovely. Enjoyed fish and chips very good

Yelp
Great last minute dinner choice while walking around downtown Perth! We loved all our dinner choices which included the lamb salad (HIGHLY recommend), FUNguy pizza and Asian crispy chicken kimchi 'burger'. Rooftop Atmosphere was great and service was quick.

Tore this place up when I was there with my friends. When we arrived it was empty and a band was setting up to play. We all just grabbed some drinks and after a few we were pretty sauced and people(GIRLS) hardly any guys appeared magically. My friend lost his cell phone twice and it appeared magically at the bar. The bartenders were looking out for it haha where does that happen in America? So the place is really cool and it's two floors one being a rooftop bar where my friends and I had a blast. The drinks are pricey but it was worth the time spent having conversation and making neat Australia friends. Oh and it was Thursday I think haha and it was raging.

Yelp
If you're a fan of slow service, underwhelming food, music being blasted into your ears and menu items getting mixed up, then you'll be a fan of The Aviary. However if you're like me and you're not overly fond of those things, you'll be cautious about accepting invitations to dinners held here. Having only dined here once before, I accepted a dinner invitation to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our group of 20 were split across two tables, and once we were all seated, it was more than a half hour wait before the waitstaff came to take our orders. No complaints about the bar service though, but if it weren't for our drinks keeping us occupied, I'm sure we would've complained to the manager right there and then. Another 20 minutes passed and our entrees finally came out. Presentation: good. Flavours: uninspiring. I ordered the wagyu beef and mushroom dumplings, which is what the waitress claimed she placed in front of me - I took one bite and was surprised to find that not only was I served pork dumplings (what my friend next to me ordered), but the meat was uncooked. My beef dumplings that went to my friend next to me didn't get much love either- still raw on the inside, it was quickly spat out (my friend is pregnant and therefore cannot take raw meats). After we finished our entrees, it took another good 20 minutes or so for some of our mains to make their way out of the kitchen. By the time some of us got our mains, half the table had already finished theirs- that's how long it took for everything to come out. All in all, not a great experience. Actually you know what, it wasn't even a good one. I was really happy to be celebrating my friend's birthday, but aside from the venue's prime location, everything else was disappointing. With music blaring across the section and waitresses that had trouble understanding English, placing orders and asking waitstaff for recommendations was no easy task. This experience merits the 2-star rating it's receiving, however I'm a believer of second chances, so I'll be back in the next few months to do a review update.

Yelp
Nice semi open-air bar in Perth downtown. Funky seating/daybeds and good lighting in evening. Beer selection is good and full bar too.

Yelp
Sunday lunch for a birthday as our fave place was sadly closed. Hmm, the service was atrocious. A meagre attempt at wiping down the table recently vacated by a group of people. The menu was basic and uninspiring. Food was delivered in a haphazard manner, the wait staff didn't seem to care if orders went to the appropriate person as long as they were dumped on the correct table. The salt and pepper squid had a very strange after taste, the burgers were extremely salty, pizza was good. Not a particularly busy day for the staff as it was pretty cold and breezy on the rooftop but very difficult to get even basic service from staff. Drinks are ridiculously over priced. Lets bring in low wages and reward good service with great tips like they do in the US, maybe it will wipe out the staff who don't give two hoots for customer service :(

Yelp
I hadn't heard much about the Aviary so when a friend asked me if I wanted to pay $200 dollars for a ticket to the New Years Eve party, I was slightly sceptical. I went along with it as she had nothing but good things to say about it. They promised canapes throughout the evening, and unusual expensive beers. Instead I received cheap brand beers, and because I was sat on the opposite side of the room to where the food was being bought out by the time it got to our side there was nothing left. For $200 this really wasn't good enough. I refuse to go back after that day, I wouldn't have minded paying if they had lived up to what they had said it would be like, because as a venue, it is actually quite nice.

Yelp
The food was great and the service in the restaurant the night we went was fantastic and probably the best I've had since moving to Perth. The venue... mixed feelings about it...the line to get in was painful but to the restaurant is was fine...if you going for dinner great, if you're going for a drink on a Saturday night not great. The fitout and area is interesting but the lack of seating when busy doesn't make you want to stay when there are many places to choose from. Was good but didn't love it... will have to try it on a Saturday or Sunday arvo for lunch and see if I like it more then.

Yelp
Just a little on the expensive side, but it's a good respite with a cool atmosphere right in the heart of the Perth CBD. Service was friendly, quick and courteous. Beer selection is large. I enjoyed going mid-day for some drinks with coworkers- definitely not so loud you can't have a conversation, so I appreciate that.

Yelp
Its relatively new, right above the Perth Underground station. Its quite comparable to the Ivy Bar in Sydney in how dressy it is and how classy and sleak they make things look. The highlight is definitely the rooftop with some Japanese decorations to the side. But in terms of the audience, It looks like it will take some time for the demographic to settle as the Perth CBD is opening up again by reconnecting with Northbridge as the CBD did not draw that many people for many years

Yelp
I was super excited when heading to Aviary for the first time after all the hype I'd heard. Super cool rooftop bar they said. Just like Melbourne or Sydney they said. Now my high hopes weren't dashed necessarily but I wasn't blown away either. Rooftop yeah, good tunes yup, chilled out vibe check. The food is also sweet, the chips are a highlight. The issues I have are: A) once you make it through the big fuck off line to get in there is a second one to get upstairs. B) the wait to get a drink upstairs was ludicrous. Like seriously 45 minutes. and it cost a mint. C) the whole place was way too packed A step in the right direction for Perth bars but a flawed step.

Yelp
Great view from the restaurant to the bustling street below. The sofa were very comfortable & spacious. Service was attentive. Came here for lunch on Wednesday and it wasn't busy so it was perfect for our catch up. Food was ok.. I had chips for entree & salmon salad for my main. It wasn't anything special..

Yelp
The Aviary if a great centrally located watering hole, with a wide variety of drinks on offer and a selected modern menu. Roofop vibes add to the vibe.

Yelp
Soft water mist jets lightly cool the crowd mingling on the rooftop on a beautiful summer's night. It's Friday & everyone's enjoying a drink with their mates sitting around one of the benches or standing by bar tables. But we didn't come to sit or stand, we came to dance! Eclectic tunes & a fun casual but classy atmosphere, the Aviary hits the right notes. The only issue is being surrounded by so many smokers. An easy 5 stars if we could dance in the open fresh air

Yelp
The venue itself is amazing and has so much potential, but the food is extremely overpriced and very small servings. We seemed to annoy the server when we were order food as we were asking a couple of questions. Won't be going back for dinner anytime soon.

Yelp
The Aviary rooftop bar is a great spot for a drink and a sit-down when your feet are tired from shopping. I love the decor and the fake lawn. We just stopped for a drink and I had the Aviarian Punch which was fruity, not too sweet and very refreshing. It was pretty quiet on the day in question as it had been raining, but I imagine this place gets pretty busy normally!

Yelp
I've visited the aviary a few times and each time it's ok but never great. It lacks wow factor. Service is nice and decor is quirky and modern but it seems like yet another bar. No stand out points. Cocktail pitchers are worthwhile and money rise a great purchase. It's a decent go to place out of convenience or on the way to elsewhere but I wouldn't plan to go there as a part of my evenings master plan.
