A true hidden gem with an amazing speakeasy vibe, right from the cool, secret entrance. The service was top-notch—friendly and knowledgeable staff who are passionate about their craft. While the food was a delicious surprise, the cocktails are the real star here. The selection is massive, and every drink we tried was an absolute masterpiece of flavour and presentation. I think this might just be the best cocktail bar I have been to (and I've visited a lot!). This is a must-visit for some of the best cocktails in Singapore. We'll definitely be back!

Staff knows their cocktail well, service are top notch. Like their unique 90s retro style, very cozy. Cocktails mix are very well blend, if you are a cocktail person, definitely should try!

i’ve been to many speakeasy cocktail bars and this is already one of my favourites! everything from the decor to the service were spot on! only managed to have two drinks this time and they were fantastic! we tried a couple of food items; the bikini and the steak & caviar bites. the bikini, while delicious, should have a bit more filling in my opinion and perhaps my own personal preference. the steak & caviar bites though, was absolutely delicious, and this is one item i would definitely come back and order again. if you’re a fan of espresso martinis, i would recommend trying their perforated rendition, it’s unique and clear colored and a very interesting experience! also tried their rum based old fashioned and it was fantastic! service here is top notch, and the ambience is very 50s or 60s american style i believe. i will definitely be back again!

In my opinion and my personal experience, I would say The Backdrop is the best bar I’ve ever visited in Singapore. Beautifully decorated behind the hidden door, keep giving me surprises. The environment is cozy and the staffs there are very friendly. They don’t just take your order and walk away but they stay and engage with each table, sharing the stories behind the inspiration of the bar and also the carefully created cocktails. Definitely worth the visit and I will definitely visit again!

Checked out a hidden bar at Voco Orchard Hotel called The Backdrop—and it’s such a vibe. The whole place is themed like the backstage of a theatre, which already sets a cool mood. Getting in feels like part of the show too: you scan a QR code at the entrance, then wait for them to send you another code to unlock the door. The bar’s pretty cozy, drinks are solid, and here’s a fun twist—when you order, they hand you a card with a random question. Perfect icebreaker if you’re hanging out with someone new and need help dodging the awkward silences. Definitely a fun little experience if you’re up for something different.

This was an experience to remember. This themed hidden bar in the Voco plaza was so full of character and charm. The guys serving were funny, friendly and very attentive. The cocktails were absolutely quality. I would definitely recommend, especially if on a date night.

Lovely ambience with en pointe 20’s speakeasy vibes, staff are friendly and provided welcome and goodbye drinks which was a nice touch. Cocktails and food were of good quality and bespoke style. Would be back again!
