The Backyard Smokehouse Toronto

Stopped by this place after seeing they had halal brisket, but ended up ordering the smoked chicken poutine instead. The food was good. I didn’t notice the saltiness at first, but it started to taste a bit too salty halfway through; not sure if it’s supposed to be like that or if this place just makes it that way. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, and the waitress was a really nice lady. Not suitable for large groups as the place itself is tiny, see the video.

I live close by but never had the chance to check out this place. Visited on a random day after work, ordered a standard signature burger with sweet potato fries, and OMG it was way above my expectation! Crispy fries, juicy and huge beef patty with some caramelized onions, perfect for a quick EOD escape meal (though my gym coach would hate it afterwards). Also great service, was welcomed and served with smile. Definitely will come back soon!

Service was amazing. Maria is a sweetheart and super friendly and attentive. The food was on point! We got brisket, smoked chicken, Mac n cheese, mushroom confit, sweet potato fries, and it came with sliders, garlic bread, toast, and cornbread. That cornbread!!! Ooooff! I’m so glad we came in. It’s a very cute spot in a very cute neighborhood.

Absolutely amazing experience! Big thanks to Chef Youssef for the incredible food and outstanding quality. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. You can truly taste the passion and skill in every dish. The restaurant atmosphere is great, the service is excellent, and the food is simply delicious. Highly recommended — one of the best restaurants in Toronto! I will definitely be coming back again.

We were a group of 4 and we got the Three Yard group meal. It was fantastic! The brisket and Lamb Shank were so tender and tasty! All the sauces were great (each of us had a favorite between the bbq, honey mustard and the hot sauce), the mac and cheese, mushroom confit, curly fries and coleslaw were also very good. Curious to try out the other meat! The staff was very accommodating, didn’t take a long time for us to get our food after ordering and we got water refills super quick without even asking. We will be back to try the other stuff in the menu!

I dined alone and sat on the patio, which was quite nice and provided a perfect seat for observing Toronto traffic mania at the intersection of Dupont and Spadina. Service was friendly. Wait was very short. I had the mango mocktail (refreshing), mushroom soup (very good), and pulled beef sandwich (delicious). I would definitely visit again if in the area.

We had our New Year’s dinner at the Backyard Smokehouse…it was perfect! The staff were all lovely. The food was terrific..we had brisket poutine (amazing), backyard hamburger (delicious) and buffalo chicken wings (excellent), followed by a totally decadent chocolate lava cake. Can’t wait to return!

As everyone has said, the Cesar salad was delicious. The half chicken was also delicious and moist,.the rub was awesome. The mac and cheese was very good along with shrimp. However the brisket was under seasoned from a rub point of view and the meat itself was over cooked and dry, now in fairness I do smoke a lot of my own meat and do brisket fairly often so I am pickey. I also cant help wonder if the brisket is sliced well in advance of being plated. Also the mushrooms, dont bother order one of the options, not good at all. Oh and corn bread was perfect and the server was very good.
