This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Salt Lake City for savoring a variety of bagel options (and believe me, I have tried a fair few popular restaurants). Every bagel I’ve tried has been fantastic, especially because their cream cheese is incredibly delicious! The bagels are freshly made, and the generous cream cheese filling makes them worth every dime. Service is also prompt, even on busy weekends. If the main parking lot is full, there’s convenient street parking right across the road.

Google
Came here for breakfast and really enjoyed my sandwich. I’m no bagel connoisseur, but I do like my bagels on the softer side, and this was not that. Other that, I’d eat here again.

Google
Great bagels with a lot of variety. I had the bacon egg and cheese and it was excellent. Would recommend 100%!

Google
The food was excellent as well as the service. I only give it four stars out of five because parking is fairly limited and there really isn’t much seating for people who want to eat at the establishment. I feel it’s more of a get your order to go kind of place. Nevertheless, I’d happily go back time and again.

Google
This place has great, delicious bagels; they do sell out quickly, so try to come early. The bagel breakfast might seem simple, but they’re good. The downside is finding parking around here. Great customer service.

Finding local food gems is one of the highlights of traveling. Choosing an airbnb in the center of SLC gives many opportunities to find pockets of new discovery within walking distance. The Bagel Project is one such place. Obviously, a local favorite, the place was never empty. With limited seating, the inner and outer area of the bagel shop was full of people either waiting to order or waiting to receive their orders. The "Lox and Loaded" on the EVERYTHING bagel was so satisfying! I recommend the fresh chive cream cheese. A small coffee was $3 with one refill. It was so filling it was my breakfast and lunch. Across the street in the corner is a small park with an Artisian well open to the public. A nice and peaceful view with coffee. I feel I will visit a few more mornings while I'm here. If you visit Salt Lake City, seek out this shop.

Google
Delicious! We had the “Hava Tequila” Bagel sandwich with plain cream cheese, and the Cinnamon Raison bagel with honey cream cheese with a black coffee, all very good! They were generous with the toppings which is always great. However, it is on the pricey side. They charge extra for cream cheese on a bagel sandwich… I’m getting a bagel sandwich, it should come with cream cheese right?? You pour your own coffee which is completely fine, but it’s more expensive than most coffee shops and there isn’t anywhere to sit. All in all very yummy, will definitely go back, it’s close to liberty park which is a great place to walk around while you eat!

Ordered a few bagels for pick up during Sunday rush. They were cranking the bagels out, I didn’t wait very long which I appreciated. We got the bagels toasted, but in retrospect probably wouldn’t do that again. They were just a little too hard and crunchy. Other than that it was delicious. So far the best bagel we’ve had in Salt Lake. If we ordered the eggs and bacon again we would add cream cheese.

Yelp
The bagels were extremely fresh as we stopped by on the hunt for a good bagel in the area. They helped us quickly and got the food out hot and ready to go. The inside of this place makes for more of a grab and go due to there only being a few tables. Nonetheless, a solid bagel at a decent price in the area. Cheers!

Lynn V.

Yelp
Ok bagels. Ambiance: Limited parking lot. Otherwise, it's just street parking. A couple of tables on the inside, but it can get crowded so grab one when you can. You order at the front and pick-up. Service: Friendly and the food comes out quick. I saw a lot of people doing to-go/online orders for pick-up. Food: Got the egg/cheese/bacon on an everything bagel, a trout and about bagel, and a plain salt bagel. Everything was ok. I thought there was more bagel than ingredients for the first one, there was a ton of arugula on the trout one that made it hard to taste the trout, and the salt bagel was a little hard for more liking. Overall, not a bad bagel place but not my favorite either.

Yelp
I ordered the Lox n' Loaded on an everything bagel and it was delicious!!! The bagel was the perfect texture as to not have everything slide out when you bit into it, which is one of my pet peeves about bagels!! There's not a lot of seating inside, which is kind of annoying, but when it's warm out there's a nice shady outdoor seating under a tree. Although I do feel like they need a couple more tables out there.

Bernice C.

Yelp
Parking: Only 5 or so parking spots, so you might have to park on the street. Seating: I arrived at 11:30am on a Saturday and there were so many people! There are only two or so tables to sit on, so don't plan on eating here if you're coming on a Saturday as it is quite packed. Bagels: We love bagels and were excited to try this place. We got 1/2 a dozen bagels for home. Sadly the salt one was extremely salty, and the onion sun dried tomato we got was just alright.

Yelp
'Ello chaps, The Bagel Project offers a variety of bagels and sandwiches until closing or while supplies last. This is a quaint little bagel shop in the middle of a busy neighborhood. We ventured here at the recommendation of a friend, while visiting town. The bagel itself was quite good --- slight crunch but soft chew. It really hit the spot. Be warned the parking is quite limited, so if you can't get into the small parking lot, consider the nearby street parking. Overall I give The Bagel Project 4 stars out of 5.

Julia J.

Yelp
I wanted to love this spot when a friend told me about it. But, coming from NY, this is just not it. :/ I ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel, and it was honestly pretty similar to what you'll receive at Einstein's. The bagel had very little texture and didn't come across as a hot fresh bagel, and the filling was extremely sparse compared to what you'll get and receive in NY. Bummer!! Staff was friendly, interior is tight with only a couple seating options, but clean throughout. If you're wanting a killer bagel, drive north to Cheryl's. Hard to beat and closest to NY you'll get in UT so far.

Yelp
We went here for breakfast and it was good, but not the best bagel. Pros: staff was super kind and were quick to reassure that they would take our order. They were busy! The sandwich was good. Bacon was perfectly cooked and the sauce they had in there complimented it well. My mom got the bacon egg and cheese and she said it was good and the egg was cooked well. Con: not really a con...I think I went in thinking I'd get a NY bagel - chewy. It was still a decent bagel.

Sarah D.

Yelp
These bagels are so good, so this review has nothing to do with the quality of the food product. My complaint is the prices. I live in this neighborhood and have been coming to Bagel Project for a really long time. It is rare I stray from my regular order, and as a consequence, I've been able to track their prices. The cost of my regular order has gone up almost $5 since January 2024, which is almost double in one year! Definitely not worth it anymore. I need to find another bagel spot that doesn't overcharge.

Nathan F.

Yelp
First time at Bagel Project after hearing a lot about this place on social media. Decided to get a half dozen to bring home and a couple bagels for breakfast for my wife and I. I got the salt bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagel itself had a great texture but for me there was way too much salt on there. My wife's onion bagel with sun dried tomatoes was delicious. They toasted our bagels and had them out very quickly even though it was quite busy when we arrived. Looking forward to trying the rest of the bagels we brought home!

Harper F.

Yelp
I've had this place on my list for awhile so I finally went to try it this weekend. I ordered the bacon, fried egg, and cheddar bagel sandwich on an everything bagel. The sandwich was great! My order ended up being $10.50. I've been to a lot of bagel places in the past and this price seemed steep to me. The outdoor seating area is nice. The employees are very friendly. I would recommend!

Ellie D.

Yelp
A cute little establishment. Parking is limited but there's no interior seating so it's meant to be a in and out type of place. What we got: Lox and Loaded - 5* this was on a toasted everything bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese. Bacon, Egg and Cheese - 3.5* this was on a toasted Parmesan Bialy. We wished they had a sausage option instead of bacon.

Nicholas H.

Yelp
My colleagues told me about this place. So after work one morning I stopped by and tried them. Since then I have been a few times. The customer service is awesome; and the bagels are fresh and delicious. The ambiance is amazing and calm and the lighting is nice and pleasant. My only complaint is that the price is more than it's worth. But I still enjoyed the sandwiches and food overall. My favorite is the egg, bacon and cheese bagel! Thank you!!! Will be back soon!

vita f.

Yelp
Location was pretty easy to find. Parking available and they had some outside seating. The line was not long at all and ordered right away. The menu is simple and they didn't have too many choices which made it easy. My order didn't take long.

Isabelle H.

Yelp
Went here mid morning on Memorial Day. Pretty busy and backed up with online orders (~15 min wait to get bagel sandwiches) but the Hava Tequila was good! The salt bagel was yummy

Emily H.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning after a hike. It wasn't too busy and my order came out within about 5-10 minutes! The workers were friendly and the store was clean. I ordered the salt bagel with lox cream cheese. It was so good! The bagel had a bit too much salt for my liking and compared to others salt bagels I've had, but overall it was good! There was lots of seating outside, but no seating inside. Great if the weather is nice, you have the option to eat outside!

Helen L.

Yelp
I've heard it can get pretty busy so we placed our order online and it was ready when we arrived. We got a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese and jalapeño jam which was a surprise hit. I would definitely go back for another one. We also got a Parmesan bialy with lox and it was not my favorite but probably just a personal preference. Ambience was busy but there was seating outside on a nice day and people just lounging in the grass. It is also close to Liberty Park so you can also enjoy it there. Good location and will be back!

Madysin F.

Yelp
Bagels were good but nothing too special. I really wanted a blueberry bagel and was disappointed that their only sweet bagel was a cinnamon and raisin. We also got a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel it was good and filling but not worth the price in my opinion.

Nico S.

Yelp
100% the best bagel I've had in a long time. And the coffee is delicious. Highly recommend this shop if you're looking for a great breakfast place.

Kristy A.

Yelp
This is a cute, clean little shop. There's a variety of bagels to choose from: everything, poppy, sesame, garlic, onion, cinnamon raisin, salt, etc. There are different cream cheeses to choose from (some for one or a tub to go). There's even hummus, butter, and jam options as well. They have a handful of intriguing bagel sandwich options. They have bags of bagel chips for purchase as well. The shop is pretty small, and there is a small amount of seating inside, but it is jam-packed with people wanting to order/ get their orders. They do have an order ahead option if you're in a rush, which is nice. They also can pre-cut your bagel order really fast in their nifty machine. The garden vegetable cream cheese and scallion cream cheese are so yummy. I was a bit disappointed that the bagels did not have the chewy texture that bagels are generally known for. But I'd like to go again and try a sandwich bagel!

Kevin W.

Yelp
No wait on a Sunday at 10 am. Online orders do slow them down but hey. Coffee was good until it was empty then asking them to change out the full pot was an inconvenience. Parking wasn't an issue seating is if you want to eat there

Vida A.

Yelp
I had a everything bagel with lox cheese spread and it was delicious. Bagel was chewy and I could taste everything on the bagel. The lox spread wasn't too fishy and tasted great. Very fresh. Very busy on a Saturday morning.

Sarah H.

Yelp
I had a friend bring this to go and even to go this was delicious. I wish the bagel was a little bit more toasted but the contents of the bagel were delicious. There are a lot of different options for their bagels or also just a normal bagel. I'll be back!

Miriam S.

Yelp
I tried the new Holladay location and as my first exposure to the Bagel Project I wasn't disappointed. Tried the lox sandwich and the portions were generous and flavorful and the ingredients fresh. Enjoy!

carrie h.

Yelp
Amazing bagels and everything is so fresh I highly recommend this place. Staff was very friendly, place smelled amazing

D L.

Yelp
Perfect bagels! Friendly staff. Well organized and speedy service. Small group seating is available inside and out.

Brendan L.

Yelp
Lovely spot located in a nice side of town. Im picky when it comes to bagels so dropped a star just because it was not my favorite one ever, but the staff was amazing and this place was popping with to-go customers. It's a hot spot for sure and I'm so glad we went. Great coffee too! Sad I didn't take pictures this time, but good sized eats too!

Dominic P.

Yelp
The flavors at the bagel project are five star caliber! The only thing detracting from this spot is it's location. I am a big Bialy fan and have yet to find a spot in Utah that does it right, except for the bagel project. The staff are nice and great, but this business is clearly a small/local business so they never have more than 2 employees on site (at least every time I've eaten here) so as a result if there's a line you could be waiting a little bit, which usually wouldn't be a big deal but the bagel project doesn't have any seating inside. I did however see they added 4, 2 seater tables outside which is great and new since the last time I visited. Also parking is rough here so you may not luck out with a parking spot and will need to park a block away. Overall the bagels are perfect, traditional east coast bagels. I got the egg bacon cheese sandwich and added "the works" (pesto, tomatoes, arugula, and red onions). This pretty much tastes identical to a bialy from New York! If you are a foodie or just a bagel junkie you have to give this place a try. Just a heads up, they bake bagels fresh every morning only! They close early whenever they sell out (which happens often) so I recommend coming as close to opening especially if you are trying to get this on a weekend.

Kaleena S.

Yelp
Such a cute and inviting place! Went on a Sunday morning around 10:50am, line was out the door and it was busy. It's located in a neighborhood on the corner and looked like a house to me and parking was limited so just be on the look out. Waited in line for 20 minutes and then waited another 30-45 minutes for the food. The bagels made it worth it, we got 3 sandwiches and a coffee. I got the Hava Tequila and the flavors were spot on, just wish there was more chorizo. My boyfriend got the Lox & Loaded, he really enjoyed it, I'm not really a raw salmon fan but it was good to me! We shared the Nana Bea and they were not shy on the cram cheese lol, just wish there was more jam. Definitely a great place to try, the service was amazing. I recommend going early or ordering online, will definitely be back! (If 4.5 stars was an option, I would give it. -.5 due to the long wait)

Lin S.

Yelp
You know it's not going to go well when the person taking your order is in a BAD mood and doesn't hesitate to let you know. Our order was wrong and we did not go back to ask them to fix since we knew the person taking the orders didn't care. Not worth ever going back.

Samuel B.

Yelp
Wow, as someone who has been too New stork multiple times, I think I have an idea of what a good bagel is. Well being in Salt Lake City I heard this was the best and if it is, the bagels in Salt Lake must be great. Crunchy and flavorful on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. I wish there was room to sit inside but to keep those prices low, I'd rather have a small place than a big place. In Los Angeles, a dozen bagels is like $23, here it's like $14! I should've gotten a dozen. Oh well, that will be for next time.

Traci S.

Yelp
I have to agree with the many people who left sub-par reviews. The bagels are fine if you like big bready bagels. They have ok toppings, but nothing special. The worst part about this place is the service. The online ordering is sketchy at best. I've tried many times, they either forget things, mess up things or make you wait forever. My last order - they "forgot" and I had to wait for 30 minutes AFTER it was supposed to be done. I would skip this place.

M. G.

Yelp
We ordered our bagels online and they did not disappoint. Picked them up on our way out of town and they were quite tasty. Love me some fresh bagels! Service was fine and ambiance was kinda like a Starbucks, you're probably going to take your food to go. Not really a place you can sit down and eat there.

Lilly K.

Yelp
Growing up having bagels in new york i can confidently say this is the closest youll get to a NY bagel in utah. The bagels are fluffy and soft but still dense and filling. They have amazing smears, including seasonal jams. You can even order online to save time (if its down on the site that just means they are busy so id recommend just ordering once you get there). The best stop for a quick and filling breakfast. You can even request to have the bagel double toasted for extra crispy goodness!

Paul D.

Yelp
Great food, made to order, super nice people. Have already returned 6 times to this and their Holladay location.

Beth A.

Yelp
Delicious bagels that are worth the wait. I recommend ordering online to save time. The weekends lines are not for the weak. I have yet to have a bagel I didn't like.

Brittany L.

Yelp
Bagel: 3 stars Service and incorrect order: -1 I came here because I heard it was the best bagel in SLC. I ordered online when I was on my way to work to eat while I was driving. I requested that cream cheese be put on my egg and cheese bagel (I know, seems weird but it's delicious). I picked up my order and started driving away to find that there's no cream cheese so nbd mistakes happen, I've barely left so I'll just go back. When I went in the girl was rude and said that it wasn't on the order but I had their copy of the receipt on my bag and it was clearly marked. So instead of putting cream cheese on my untouched bagel, she gave me a cup of cream cheese and no knife. Not worth it for an $8 meh bagel that comes with bad service.

Maria A.

Yelp
The Bagel Project has one of the best bagels I've ever had. I love the Everything bagel and how tasty it is. The scallion cream cheese completes it. I have also tried the Hava Tequila and Lox and Loaded. You cannot go wrong with any choice here. The outdoor seating is lovely when it's nice out.

Clarissa C.

Yelp
This place was SO YUMMY. It's super small and only had outdoor seating, but still so worth it. There was only two people working the register and kitchen but they were as fast as they could be given how many people were there. Can't recommend enough!!

Charles S.

Yelp
Decent bagels. They even have salt! Always Great Service. Good ambiance. Live the bagel slicer cannon.

Sarina L.

Yelp
Skipped McDonalds since our group was craving a good ole bagel with cream cheese. We ordered a half dozen and asked if a tub of cream cheese was enough. The person helping us said 2 would be enough, so we did. Didnt realize when we got it that it was a FULL size container and we barely used 1 container. And we were pretty generous with the cream cheese on the 6 bagels. Bagels were pretty hard and firm and not warm. I dont think we were even given an option to have them warmed or toasted. Kind of disappointed... was expecting a better bagel than Starbucks, but its about the same and if anything would prefer the starbucks one for getting it toasted. For the price of bagel with cream cheese not really worth. Their sandwiches might be better. I would try again if I'm ever back in town.

Aj H.

Yelp
They were super busy so I tried to understand but they made us wait 20 mins at first, and when we went to check on the food, it turns out they had comepletly forgotten our order and we had to wait another 10. Horrible experience, they didn't even apologize. Wait was not worth it at all. Bagels were good quality but nothing special. Toppings were very subpar, as everything was very over cooked and tough to chew.

Amelia A.

Yelp
Really filling and delicious bagels, not enough seating for costumers but otherwise pretty enjoyable place to check out.

Alexander E.

Yelp
Great service and the most delicious bagels. I highly recommend this place for a casual bagel breakfast with a few tables of outdoor seating.

Nichole R.

Yelp
The perfect bagel sandwich does exist and it's definitely made at the bagel project! The bagel was dense and held their sandwich perfectly. I had the bialy bagel which has caramelized onions and poppy seeds in it. You can add the works to any of the sandwiches which is arugula, pesto, onion and tomato, I definitely recommend it!

ANGELA S.

Yelp
DAMN GOOD bagels n schmear! Nice people. Fair prices fot the high quality. Delightful lil neighborhood shop. I'm excited to go back & try a bagel sammich!

Shirley A.

Yelp
Came here for the first time, and customer service is great! Didn't wait long for my bagel. Ordered the Trout Bagel and coffee. The taste is delicious. The Garlic Bagel is one of the best I've taste.

Mikaela M.

Yelp
This morning, we had our first experience with The Bagel Project! Given the pandemic, all orders are taken online and picked up to-go. We put our order in then went on a walk around the block while we waited. We placed our order at 9:48 and were told it would be ready by 10:05. This place is super busy! As a result, we did not get our order until 10:26, which was a little annoying. The sandwiches themselves were both tasty. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese with arugula on a bialy (parmesan) bagel. I've never had a bialy bagel before, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the center is filled with caramelized onions. Yum! The cheese tasted like a sharp cheddar - no Kraft American here! The bacon was cooked to a slight crisp, which I like. My fiancé got the lox and loaded on an everything bagel. He had them use scallion cream cheese, which he recommends. He's never pleased with the amount of lox that any bagel spot uses - he says it could always use more. Other than that, he said it was a pretty good bagel.

Chloe C.

Yelp
Great bagel place! I come here once a week. My friend has a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. My favorite is the nana bea on a salt bagel! Try this place!
