It was only $11 for admission, and as someone who lives in Orlando, I'm used to these sorts of things costing like $40 each, so I was happy to pay $11. Yes, it's very small, basically 2½ rooms. You can see everything and read every plaque within about 30 minutes. But I really enjoyed getting to learn about a festival I didn't know existed before I visited. I would recommend it if you've never visited before, very cool. The float in the main hall is an incredible piece!

Informative information, but very short museum for the price. It's definitely something I could get more information online, but I did appreciate looking at the actual costumes.

I visited the Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo early December 2025 (just last week while on a Carnival Cruise). The museum itself is beautiful. It tells about the history. It is bright & colourful & beautiful! However, it is small. Like 3 rooms small. The price is $11 per person (adults ). This took us all of 5 minutes to get through - even with reading much of the history. A few minus's - NO PHTOTGRAPHY ALLOWED. At all. I can understand no PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY. But I have a hard time with not being able to take a pic of my family next to an exhibit. It is OVERPRICED. I feel the fee for admission should be more in the $6 per person range. Again: 3 rooms. Yes, I spoke with one of the owners. I appreciate that she took time to come & speak with me. She explained that the price is actually $10 per person. The extra $1.00 is tax. (Not posted anywhere) ....... She also went on to explain the amount of money it took to put the exhibit together - going on to say the technology in the theatre room was in itself well into the 6 figures. I accepted her explanation. Then advised that as a CONSUMER - the cost of the facility is not my concern. The consumer only cares about THE EXPERIENCE. The cost of this experience is not worth the price. I will be back in Nassau, The Bahamas. It would be wonderful to see a price drop next time I'm there!

This museum is worth the experience if you get the tour. The guide shared a lot of information about the history of Junkanoo, how people prepare the floats and costumes, and the unique instruments. I was amazed by the detail and artistry in the costumes alone. I hope to one day go back to see the parade in action.

Amazing tour with Frederick! His love for Junkanoo is contagious. Learned interesting things about Junkanoo, played some instruments and tried on costumes during our tour. Highly recommended!

This museum is located in the cruise port of Nassau. It's welcoming with lots of vibrant colors and the displays are unique and simply breathtaking and beyond beautiful. Love the knowledge it provided and you can't help but dance to the music/beats. It left me wanting to know more and see more. A bigger building is definitely needed to house more pieces and tell this story that all would to see and hear.

We had such an amazing experience here. It was our first stop after debarking from our ship. We love learning about the cultures, history, and celebrations of the places we are visitors in. The museum is small but beautifully put together and the air conditioning was nice on a hot day. The costumes, displays, floats, instruments and videos were a feast for the eyes and ears. The best part was at the end of the experience we were immersed into a room with festival video and sound projected onto all of the walls and a staff member teaching us to play each instrument. After the short lesson, he asked us to put on some of the headpieces and told us to grab the instruments and go on a parade with him outside the museum (in front of hundreds of people) and back through the entire museum. So unforgettable! Really forced us out of our comfort zone and it was probably the most memorable moment of our short stop in Nassau. The Bahamian people are incredible and it’s a pleasure to learn a bit about their festivities in such an immersive way. The $11 admission price quickly turned into a totally priceless experience.

Junkanoo is an overlooked multidisciplinary art form. This is a very small museum but it was impactful — all of the exhibits are thoughtful — if you’re looking to run through without reading anything maybe this isn’t for you. The staff is passionate about their art form (we were lucky to have a lesson from a Junkanoo drummer in the theater) and I am grateful for the experience.
