This 17th-century bed and breakfast property is filled with charm and tranquility. The Baker House is my happy escape from NYC, and I always look forward to returning. My husband and I have enjoyed our time there during both the summer and winter seasons. We truly appreciate the hospitality, delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. This place is a true gem in the Hamptons. Make sure to see the beautiful big tree that is more than 500 years old! 🥰✨🕊️

A charming historic inn offering a cozy, elegant escape with beautifully appointed rooms and exceptional service. Fine dining in the main restaurant and casual tavern fare downstairs, especially the renowned meatloaf, deliver a memorable culinary experience. Its prime location, just steps from downtown. Definitely our favorite summer spot!

The spa experience is super special, you have the entire space to yourself, making it a deeply relaxing escape. The boutique is a hidden gem, filled with beautifully curated pieces. Can’t wait to come back warmly recommend !!

The Baker House is the terrific! I love it! It is in a wonderful location in East Hampton and the best place to stay. All the rooms are unique and different. Everything on the property is beautiful - the grounds, pools, rooms and common areas. The two pools are lovely. Breakfast is delicious and the servers are friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping is terrific as well. The staff at the front desk is warm and welcoming. The owner Antonella is very nice. Always love staying here. Looking forward to another visit.

The Baker House was the rare place I found to be very tastefully decorated and appointed in every regard. A lover of colonial decor, I appreciated the genuine quality of what must have been a labor of love! I hope to return often - particularly in October when East Hampton is less crowded than it is during the summer months.

The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton is just an amazing bed and breakfast experience. It's an old house from 1600's with all the old world charm. If you want to have a massage or the private pool make an appointment and reserve your private time. The rooms are quite beautiful and offer a lot of charm and all the necessities. They offer delicious breakfast each morning, The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

I visited this place with a girlfriend of mine and we just ended up feeling like an inconvenience the whole time. The staff barely regarded us and didn’t acknowledge simple requests like may we have some glassware or small fan for our room since the Air Conditioning was not effectively cooling. We asked for a tour of the spa and the front desk couldn’t find someone (anyone on the property) to take us to the basement to let us look at it. It was just a very strange girls trip, regardless of how pretty the house looks, I’d also like an experience/stay to match that.

This B&B was the most spectacular place I've ever stayed. Everything about it is first class. The grounds are simply amazing and the location is central to everything, beach, dining, shoping, vineyards. The staff is super friendly and overall we had the absolute best experience in this little piece of paradise. We booked late and only had a room in the carriage house available BUT This is the absolute best building to stay in :) We had our own pool, bar and quite getaway, isolated from the road and hustle and bustle of other housemates. Highly recommend this place, it's magical.

Yelp
1. A gentleman with AirPods in his ears checked us in. To explain that we would need to move rooms after our first night into a different room for our remaining two nights, he showed us the entire booking screen with all the guests' private contact information. 2. The rooms have iPod docks with 30-pin connectors. I mean at this point just remove them if you aren't going to replace them guys - they haven't worked with any iPhone since 2012. 3. A woman who fell squarely into the "surprised and afraid to find herself in charge of a hotel" category was incredibly rude to my wife when we were working from the room (as we had been told we could) the day we needed to inexplicably vacate it for a different room. "My husband is showering, we need 15 minutes." "You can't have 15 minutes." Like, what are you going to do? Forcibly remove us from the room? You guys were the ones who told us we could use the room. 4. I should also note that the rooms were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER and to my eye completely identical. (The one we moved to had a small balcony but otherwise I didn't detect any material difference.) It doesn't seem like an insurmountable puzzle to solve that you could have just put the other people into the vacant room. 5. They decided for some reason to empty the hotel's septic tank during our friends' wedding photos. 6. It's one of those places where a hopeless fussy person has laminated lots of signs with rules and instructions. Do NOT remove the laminated guide to the room from the room itself. Do NOT use any towel other than the blue ones for removing makeup. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper because the house has EXTREMELY sensitive plumbing. It all seems like someone very, very angry runs the place. (Is there a significant problem with guests removing the laminated guide from the room?) One star for a good location and another star for a pretty good breakfast (you are entitled to ONE cooked item, per the rules).

Yelp
I did not have a good experience at all. I found the staff cold and unfriendly. I arrived early and left my bags. I was told they would call me when the room was ready. By 8pm I still hadn't heard if my room was ready. I returned and indeed it was ready and my bags were in the room, but why hadn't they called me as agreed upon. The receptionist didn't seem to care. Our room was old and wanting. The mattress was too soft, mostly likely old and the sheets were threadbare. The bathroom towels were tired. The air didn't work. the windows were stuck tight. They sent a man up to help open the window and that was successful. The room was still very claustrophobic. We overlooked the driveway and the trash cans and got to see the early morning trash pickup. Very overcharged for the facilities available. I'm from Los Angeles. I know what services are worth. I cannot recommend this place. Buyer beware.

Yelp
Searching for nice, quiet, place and great food. I can't rate places yet, Searching Photos, look sensational

Yelp
Saying the pools are open but arriving to find they are unheated (56 degrees) and unusable is disingenuous! Writing "fresh squeezed orange juice" on the breakfast menu and pouring it out of a container is a questionable practice! The mattresses, pillows, and bedding are sub par (soft and worn). The ceilings in the upstairs rooms in the carriage house are very low. The king size bed is split down middle and uncomfortable. Windows were also sticky and difficult to open for fresh air. Heather took awhile before admitting she was the one who told me over the phone that the "pools are open". She followed that up that the pools are technically open even though they are unswimmable you can still enjoy them????!! This is after a run around about the pipes being irrigated. Heather ended the conversation by saying it must not have been her who said the pools were open. Then she said that from now on they would close the pools when they stop heating them (pandering)! I asked for compensation and, in her words, having worked there for 18 years, she knew better and that the owner would never consider it! Not a great reflection on the owner's part to take responsibility for the errors of her staff! The downstairs jets in the pool do not work and didn't work a year ago. The bath jets in the carriage house room didn't work a year ago. There was too much deniability on the part of management and no offer to make up for their misleading claims. I would have chosen to stay elsewhere where the pool was indeed open and heated had they not mislead me! Paying over $750/night and offering only 2 little complementary bottles of water in the room, says it all!

Yelp
I went to the Baker House for a massage at their spa. It's an old house from 1648 so you really don't expect to step through a doorway into this modern spa cavern. Unfortunately I wasn't able to jump into the pool or tub since there was another massage appointment after mine. Instead I hung out in their garden which was serene. It would be fun to spend a night, although it's not really a kid friendly place so it might be a while before that happens.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL & OLD WORLD STYLE B&B It's a historic home and I love the fireplaces. Do not expect to be staying in a modern glass hotel. This is not for you. They tend to not bother the guest which is a plus if you value privacy. The breakfast was very nice and homemade by our server. Everything was fresh and of very good quality. The neighborhood is quite beautiful and peaceful. Great weekend getaway.

Yelp
Price wise, this hotel is at the top end. One expects good, friendly service at this price point. Unfortunately, one gets no service from the staff at this hotel. When I asked for something, like someone to clean my room or a fresh towel, my request elicited rage from the staff. Very unusual indeed. It is a small boutique hotel with only a few rooms (I would not recommend it, but if you do book this hotel do not book a room on the very busy, noisy highway where the hotel sits) and the service is frankly miserable. It is a b&b and the breakfast portions they serve are unfortunately sub par. The food is greasy and the portions miniscule. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
This is not your typical B & B. My wife and I got in late and enjoyed a few cocktails and a fire in the common room of the Carriage House. The place was beautifully renovated. In the morning we almost missed breakfast because our bed was SO comfortable. At breakfast I had blueberry pancakes and huevos rancheros. The staff here was very friendly and able to accommodate all our needs. Not what I expected at all. We also spoke with the staff who were able to suggest a winery for us to visit. I can't wait to come back in the summertime!

Yelp
The spa was very relaxing and they seemed to take COVID precautions very seriously. It felt very safe and the massages were great! The inn is gorgeous. We stayed in the carriage house. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't think the bed was the most comfortable but the linens were great and the shower and bath were awesome! The breakfast was great each morning.

Yelp
Last weekend, I unfortunately had a horrible experience with the representatives at The Baker House 1650, that caused me to cancel my reservation. My good friend and I had a long president's day/ galentine's weekend planned and were so excited to be getting out of the city to relax in the Hamptons. The different room types on The Baker House website were quite confusing, so we called the front desk to help us navigate the differences. In discussing with the associate, we realized the rate was cheaper on booking.com, so she encouraged us to book there and said she'd change the reservation on her end to our desired room. We were pleased with the overall experience. The morning I was supposed to arrive, I called to confirm my reservations (including several spa reservations as well). To my surprise, we did not have the room we desired. For context, we requested a more modern room, and this one was more traditional and not as nice (in my opinion). The front desk associate apologized for the inconvenience and transferred me to the manager for help. This is where the NIGHTMARE began. The general manager, Heather McCormick, was so incredibly rude. She was borderline yelling at me saying that the mix up was my fault and when I explained my interactions with the front deck associate weeks earlier, she told me "that couldn't be true", essentially implying I was LYING. She offered up no solutions and was completely dismissive- ending the conversation with "Well, you need to tell me now if you're going to cancel or not". I was absolutely appalled. She had a horrible attitude and when I told her I felt uncomfortable by the way she was speaking to me, she was completely unapologetic. I hung up the phone shaking, so disappointed in her service and crushed that my weekend away to relax was ruined. There was no way I was going to stay at a hotel where the general manager was so rude to me. I immediately called booking.com, explained the situation and they were able to fully refund my stay. Overall, I was highly disappointed and truly hope that no other guest has to experience the aggression I did, especially on the morning of the trip they've been looking forward to for weeks.

Yelp
We were so looking forward to visiting the spa at this hotel, where you have the option of using the pool, steam shower and jacuzzi without a spa treatment (for a fee). After reading about it the night before, we called to confirm the details and were told that for non-guests the fee would be $125. Nothing on the website indicates the need for an appointment, nor did the person on the phone say so. Imagine our surprise and disappointment, then, when we arrived and were turned away for not having an appointment. If anyone had said so we would have tried to make an appointment and, if that wasn't possible, saved ourselves the trouble of being turned away like street urchins. The woman who turned us away seemed unconcerned about the confusion (if I were her I would have wanted to know who we spoke to and when, to make sure they made clear the need for an appointment in the future), and indifferent to our frustration (in fact she tried to say they didn't actually allow non guests to use the spa, which made us feel like we were being gaslit), but I guess that's the Hamptons for you.

Yelp
My mother and I stayed for two nights. The mattress is so comfortable that leaving it is almost a disappointment. The most memorable part of our visit is" Anne". She made us feel the way one should feel after a $1,400, 2 night stay. Anne bends over backward to give intuitive yet non-intrusive service. She isboth polite and affable. We'd wanted a Mimosa for breakfast. Anne was gone for 10 minutes, to find a bottle of champagne. The next day there was no champagne and no Anne. The house itself is exceptional, with the grand staircase and attention to detail. There is room cleaned twice a day and we had a wood burning fireplace. We'll only stay again if Anne is working, since we are used to superior service.

Yelp
The Epitome of Luxury! I have stayed at a lot of the upscale locations in The Hamptons and this B&B takes the cake. So warm and charming and has all of the amenities you would ever need including an on-site spa! This is the only place I will ever go back to!

Yelp
What an amazing place. We spent our wedding weekend here and the service, spa treatments and beautiful rooms were the perfect complement to an amazing wedding. Thanks to Antenellla and her staff for a 5 star weekend.

Yelp
I have traveled all over the world and stayed at some of the best hotels in different countries and never in a million years I thought something like this could take place ANYWHERE ... The experience I had while staying at this place was a NIGHTMARE, literally. Found there was bed bugs in our mattress so we decided to let them know and the hotel called the police on us!!!! Can you believe that??? We had then to decide last minute where to go and that horrible experience completely ruined our vacation. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Have a great day, Amy T

Yelp
Left the city after work on a Friday for a short stay here. Being able to put a log on the fire, pour myself a glass of wine and enjoy all the comforts of absolute luxury is why this house is what it is. What a treat. The property is gorgeous, the food is delicious, the rooms are incredible (walk-in closets and bathtubs...), I could go on for days. If you are lucky enough to visit, do not miss the spa. Bravo to Antonella for all the love and work that has gone into creating this environment.

Yelp
Staff was awesome and welcoming! Very quite, clean and organized. Rooms were better then I expected and I was more then satisfied. Comfortable beds and linens.

Yelp
Coming straight from France I was invited by my boy friend to spend few beautiful and romantic nights at the magnificent English-style manor house built in 1650. The architectural details of the house and the gardens with a beautiful wisteria are complemented with a beautiful interior decoration. We stayed in the Gardeners Suite and enjoyed the warm and cozy fire place and the impeccable service. Can't wait to return and feel like at home at the Baker House 1650. My home away from home!
