Who doesn't love a Sunday Roast in a beautiful country pub 😀
The Bakers Arms has had a recent refurbishment and WOW, it's stunning !
We had a Roast and Pie options - food was exceptional, unlimited gravy for roasts 👌 and it was great gravy!
Lovely outdoor seating and plenty of it. We had great weather, it was just beautiful.
Now this may be controversial - ** I don't advocate drink driving by any stretch **
I wasn't driving my sister was , it was a warm afternoon so she decided on one shandy with her dinner. She asked the barman what was the lowest alcohol options so she could have a shandy , she mentioned she was driving (you have to drive to the location, it's in the middle of nowhere ) The barman refused to serve her ! Which is fine that's his perogative as a responsible seller of alcohol. It was the way he presented himself, almost telling her off for her choice of drink. He didn't offer her any alcohol free options. So she settled on a soft drink, and it wasn't a big deal . It just felt very judgmental.
Looking around the car park was packed, and there was plenty of wine on most tables !
My point is don't judge people, we are responsible drivers . If the drink drive policy was ZERO tolerance then I'd expect it !
Just put a sour taste on the experience 😔
