Stepping into this pub on the way to Durdle Door felt like finding a hidden gem. The interior immediately captivates you – exposed beams, rich wooden textures and the warmth of a fireplace create a homely yet refined atmosphere. There’s a real sense of character here, with thoughtful details in the décor that make the space feel both traditional and stylish. The menu strikes a good balance between classic pub favourites and some more creative touches. We started with the Scallop, King Prawn & Crab Coquille and the Salt & Pepper Calamari – the latter was a particular standout, beautifully crisp and seasoned with precision. For mains, we tried the Roast Sirloin of Beef, Pan-Roasted Lamb Rump, Chicken Parmigiana and their Signature Burger. Each dish was well executed, with flavours that went beyond what you’d expect from standard pub dining. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience without ever feeling intrusive. All in all, this is the sort of place that leaves you looking forward to a return visit – a pub with genuine charm, a kitchen that delivers, and a setting that lingers in your memory.

Very lovely Sunday roast, staff were great and food came out promptly - ordered 3x turkey roast and 1x lamb roast, veg came in a separate help your self bowl which was a great portion size! We will definitely be back soon, highly recommend booking in advance as well as it books up quickly on Sundays!

Cozy beautiful place, great service and delicious food. We didn't book the table, the place was busy on Saturday, but they still found a table for us. The service was fast the staff very polite and the food was excellent! I ordered sea bass and my partner odered fish amd chips. The fish was cooked perfectly- crispy outside and nice and succulent inside. We definitely recommend this place and if we will be in the area we would go to eat there again.

Christmas day visit. Amazing experience for a family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). Table was set with crackers, kiddy bags and personal touches. Drinks orders took quickly and arrived promptly. Food courses came out swiftly and were all lovely- zero complaints from anyone. All staff were happy and helpful. Special shout to our table waitress was Jasmine- perfect combination of being available without the overbearingness. Thanks for making Christmas perfect x

Just happened to stop by after a visit to Wareham market....and glad we did. I've not been here for 20 plus years, so it was a pleasant surprise. It certainly has improved greatly to what I remember. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, which was lovely, as was the pub and its surroundings. The beer was lovely, and the scotch egg and fries were simply divine! We will endeavour to make sure we stop by more often!!

We went to the bakers arms for a roast, it was delightful. The gravy was amazing especially! Our service was so quick, the roast came out within 10 minutes of ordering it and it was piping hot. Lorraine was our server and she was so lovely, it made all the difference. Thank you to the Lorraine and the rest of the bakers arms team!!

Yelp
This pub had a great festive Christmas feeling , but the food was not to par. We ordered the festive hand carved turkey breast, roast dinner. A quarter of the turkey was fat and the roast potatoes you could not cut with a knife. The parsnips were burnt. There were supposed to be lemon and thyme stuffing with the dinner but we couldn't find any on our plate. I have been coming to this pub for decades, but lately, I have found the food not as good as it used to be. The service, as always, was excellent as was the atmosphere. Pity about the food.

Yelp
Got a recommendation off a local. Was over in Dorset visiting. My mum was dying to go to a traditional english pub with good pub grub. The bakers arms is exactly that. The pub itself is quite big with lots of different sections. Ther is a good few fire places and when we visited they were all roaring. Nothing better :) Loved the interior a lot!! The food was also very good, typical good quality english grub. Nothing extremely exciting and high technique. But that's not why i went. No messing, hearty, flavoursome food. I shared the Desert for two with mum. Churros in chocolate sauce, brownie, peanut butter cheese cake and triffle. Ehhhhh unreal!! If I was ever back in the area Id go even just for the desert. Yum yum yummmmmm

Yelp
This is a good family pub/restaurant. There's a good beer garden with stuff for kids to do. The pub itself is nicely turned out and the service is very good. They did do a pub quiz weekly, not sure if that's still going. I stopped coming here because I kept meeting people I knew, and it is so jam packed. It has won awards. If you have children, it's worth trying.

Yelp
I have been here twice in the last month for an evening meal for the first time in years, and both times have really loved it! The food was amazing, the garlic mushrooms were light and crispy and full of flavour, and I had a lasagne special which was really tasty and packed with filling. The first time round I also had apricot and apple crumble dessert which was to die for. Everything was well worth the money as not very expensive at all, and the staff were very helpful and polite. Loved the fact that as we approached the bar somebody actually acknowledged us straight away rather than having to wait around to be seated. Definately be going back again :)
