Just happened to stop by after a visit to Wareham market....and glad we did. I've not been here for 20 plus years, so it was a pleasant surprise. It certainly has improved greatly to what I remember. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, which was lovely, as was the pub and its surroundings. The beer was lovely, and the scotch egg and fries were simply divine! We will endeavour to make sure we stop by more often!!

Cozy beautiful place, great service and delicious food. We didn't book the table, the place was busy on Saturday, but they still found a table for us. The service was fast the staff very polite and the food was excellent! I ordered sea bass and my partner odered fish amd chips. The fish was cooked perfectly- crispy outside and nice and succulent inside. We definitely recommend this place and if we will be in the area we would go to eat there again.

Who doesn't enjoy a fantastic Sunday Roast at a cosy pub? The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The pub itself is spacious, yet its thoughtful layout makes you feel like you're in your own little corner, creating a truly special experience. And they also had a soft refurbishment. What really stood out, though, was the warmth, friendliness, and professionalism of the staff. Hats off to the management for clearly making great service a top priority. We had a lovely time enjoying our lunch in the garden, basking in the sun. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Dorset!

Who doesn't love a Sunday Roast in a beautiful country pub 😀 The Bakers Arms has had a recent refurbishment and WOW, it's stunning ! We had a Roast and Pie options - food was exceptional, unlimited gravy for roasts 👌 and it was great gravy! Lovely outdoor seating and plenty of it. We had great weather, it was just beautiful. Now this may be controversial - ** I don't advocate drink driving by any stretch ** I wasn't driving my sister was , it was a warm afternoon so she decided on one shandy with her dinner. She asked the barman what was the lowest alcohol options so she could have a shandy , she mentioned she was driving (you have to drive to the location, it's in the middle of nowhere ) The barman refused to serve her ! Which is fine that's his perogative as a responsible seller of alcohol. It was the way he presented himself, almost telling her off for her choice of drink. He didn't offer her any alcohol free options. So she settled on a soft drink, and it wasn't a big deal . It just felt very judgmental. Looking around the car park was packed, and there was plenty of wine on most tables ! My point is don't judge people, we are responsible drivers . If the drink drive policy was ZERO tolerance then I'd expect it ! Just put a sour taste on the experience 😔

The roast dinner here on a Sunday is outstanding. Big portion, great value for money. The lamb was delicious and all the vegetables were perfect for my tastes. This is a classic country pub atmosphere with friendly staff and a comfortable decor.

I came in yesterday with my family and was greeted by Ellie who took us to the table, told us the soup and pie of the day and let us know about the weekend treat menu. Ellie took our drinks order and then our waitress chrissie did a great job taking our food order and looking after us during our visit. The team looked like they all enjoyed working their as it was a busy Friday night. The two young men on the bar were very busy and making cocktails all evening. I thought why not as it’s a Friday night I’d treat myself to a few strawberry daiquiri’s. Food was brilliant so well done to all the team during our visit. Will be returning very soon.

We've visited The Bakers Arms a number of times since its refurbishment, which looks fabulous. The welcome is warm & friendly, staff are helpful and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is amazing. On this visit we enjoyed the Signature Burger (cooked to perfection) & the Lamb Skewers (tender & delicious). We also enjoyed a mini pudding with a coffee. Overall experience was excellent, thank you to Steve and Chantelle who both looked after us wonderfully. We'll be back soon.

Yelp
This pub had a great festive Christmas feeling , but the food was not to par. We ordered the festive hand carved turkey breast, roast dinner. A quarter of the turkey was fat and the roast potatoes you could not cut with a knife. The parsnips were burnt. There were supposed to be lemon and thyme stuffing with the dinner but we couldn't find any on our plate. I have been coming to this pub for decades, but lately, I have found the food not as good as it used to be. The service, as always, was excellent as was the atmosphere. Pity about the food.

Yelp
Got a recommendation off a local. Was over in Dorset visiting. My mum was dying to go to a traditional english pub with good pub grub. The bakers arms is exactly that. The pub itself is quite big with lots of different sections. Ther is a good few fire places and when we visited they were all roaring. Nothing better :) Loved the interior a lot!! The food was also very good, typical good quality english grub. Nothing extremely exciting and high technique. But that's not why i went. No messing, hearty, flavoursome food. I shared the Desert for two with mum. Churros in chocolate sauce, brownie, peanut butter cheese cake and triffle. Ehhhhh unreal!! If I was ever back in the area Id go even just for the desert. Yum yum yummmmmm

Yelp
This is a good family pub/restaurant. There's a good beer garden with stuff for kids to do. The pub itself is nicely turned out and the service is very good. They did do a pub quiz weekly, not sure if that's still going. I stopped coming here because I kept meeting people I knew, and it is so jam packed. It has won awards. If you have children, it's worth trying.

Yelp
I have been here twice in the last month for an evening meal for the first time in years, and both times have really loved it! The food was amazing, the garlic mushrooms were light and crispy and full of flavour, and I had a lasagne special which was really tasty and packed with filling. The first time round I also had apricot and apple crumble dessert which was to die for. Everything was well worth the money as not very expensive at all, and the staff were very helpful and polite. Loved the fact that as we approached the bar somebody actually acknowledged us straight away rather than having to wait around to be seated. Definately be going back again :)
