Amaaazing food and selection. Wish the US had more places like this. Fantastic pastries , coffees, desserts and food. Pizza was big for a ‘small’ and could not finish it all. Would like to come back if there’s an opportunity. Prices great by home standards.

The Baker is a charming neighborhood spot in the Copacabana area , just a short walk from most major hotels. It has this cool city café vibe, like a mix between an Italian bakery and a New York-style café, with great food to match. I liked it so much I ended up coming here every morning for breakfast during my stay in Rio. Their café lattes were consistently excellent, and their pizzas are definitely worth trying too. It’s a cozy, casual place with quality food and a great local feel. A solid choice if you’re staying in Copacabana!

I had the supreme sandwich on ciabatta and it came with a salad. The sandwich was good, but it definitely needed the apricot spread or it would've been too dry. There's a bakery in the front of the restaurant with lots of yummy looking food, as well as prepacked items. The restaurant has a full menu, and you seat yourself.

Found this gem during a 10-minute walk from the JW Marriott on Copacabana. The Bakers has a dual concept - a bakery section up front and a sit-down pizzeria area where we decided to have lunch. Surprisingly, we all opted for filet steaks instead of pizza. I ordered mine with a fruit sauce and risotto, which was the day's special - absolutely delicious! The boys got fries and steaks as well, though they were a bit disappointed with the hot chocolate, which turned out to be actual melted chocolate rather than the powdered mix with milk they were expecting. Despite our complete lack of Portuguese (we basically just said "obrigado" constantly - the magic word!), the service was decent. The interior was cozy though a bit warm inside, but the quality of the food more than made up for it. The pricing was excellent for the quality, making this a real value find. If you're staying in Copacabana and feel like stretching your legs for a short walk away from the beachfront, this is a wonderful spot to pop in for either a quick pastry or a full meal. Just don't expect American-style hot chocolate if that's what you're craving!

Google
Food was good, they have a variety of cakes and breakfast, also options for a lunch meal, communication was a little difficult using English

Google
The bread is fresh and they have a wide selection of pastries. The ambiance is nice and they offer free Wi-Fi. I didn’t try their desserts but they all look delicious!

Google
Very poor service. I will never go back for sure. That is the breakfast the offer, see on the picture please. I asked English menu, waited almost 1 hour.

Google
Amazing bakery / restaurant. They serve fresh breads and have a great selection of breakfast options. I had the manhattan breakfast. We also ordered the Teremasue cake and the chocolate cake. Both were delicious. The fresh juices are delicious.

Yelp
I came The Bakers for breakfast during my time in Brazil and had a great experience. I wasn't in love with the sandwich that I had but the chocolate croissant was divine! Nice little bakery feel with nice vibes. This was our go to spot during my Bachelor Party week in Rio!

Yelp
Found this small pizzeria/bakery/deli/coffee shop close to my hotel on Copacabana beach. I had the pizza for take-out and it was just as good, if not better, than I've had back home! I highly recommend if you are looking for a carry-out pizza to bring back to your hotel / AirBNB.

Yelp
Came here for brunch. Very nice ambiance. Wifi says it's free, but you need wifi or cell service in order to get a code to sign up for it, so not really helpful. I had the Eggs Benedict, which comes on top of a sourdough bread slice. My son had a waffle with Nutella and strawberries. Both were very delicious. I also had a Nutella cappuccino, which came with a layer of Nutella on the inside and overflowing across the top of the cup. My son loved licking all of the Nutella off the cup. Would definitely recommend trying it out if you're in Rio.

Yelp
Where do I begin.. I had to wait forever for my food, my juice was hot, after I got my sandwich it was very underwhelming: the salad had no dressing and it was smaller than I expected. The flavor was just not there. I was given no choice of bread when the menu states I could've chosen. The waiter forgot to bring my coffee... I wouldn't go back there.

Yelp
Something like an American Deli transported to Copacabana, The Bakers serves a comprehensive menu of Soups, Salads and Sandwiches in addition to Sweets and Breads, though prices trend a bit higher than other similar shops nearby. Established in 1994 by Europeans, and still operated independently by the same family across four location including Centro and Ipanema, it is form 09h00 daily that guests will find The Bakers ready for service, entry to Rua Santa Clara 86 finding air full of the smell of Yeast as options span across cases and counters to the right. Offering a full menu in addition to globally inspired confections, the sizable seating area carefully watched over by a middle-aged man who otherwise busied himself with arranging shelves of packaged goods, it was after perusing options that a six-piece order was requested, Corn Cake in the local style of Pudding undeniably the best tasted in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo while a round of Manioc and Coconut was also delicious and plenty moist. Less impressed by Pastel de Nata, doughy Crust and overcooked Custard both a far cry from Brazil's Portuguese bakeries, The Bakers' packaged Dulce de Leche Biscuit was enjoyable albeit less-so than the Milhojas while a Croissant overstuffed with Nutella was rich but unexceptional thanks to a lack of proofing that results in compromised lamination.

Yelp
This was an adorable little find in the middle of Rio. The place was not a far walk from Copacabana Beach and suited a very nice interior. The pastries were incredible and the food/drinks were very nice. I got the Caprese Waffle as I had never seen anything like it! While a little dry, the taste was very savory and definitely worth a try. The inside was very quiet and a nice break for my group from the busy streets of Rio. Service was very nice as well!

Yelp
We visited this place on 10/16/2022. We ordered the mini waffles and one of the sandwiches. The service was a little slow that is why I can not give it a 5. The language barrier was a slight issue; nothing Google translator can not fix. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back on my next visit to Brazil.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is cute and located a few blocks from cops cabana beach. They sell panettone (Italian brioche) and breakfast/lunch. Our waitress was just the best, she offered to relocate us because we were near the A/C and getting frozen by the minute. We ordered the salmon/cheese sandwich and a quiche lorraine, both quite tasty. I would recommend to try eat to get a good breakfast.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick espresso and pastry before heading to the World Cup Fan Fest. Walking in you can see that it appears to cater to the tourists a bit, but that certainly doesn't change the quality of service and food. You will be quickly approached by a waitress that will take your order and ask you to take a seat. Be sure though before placing your order to take your time and look at the three cases of pastries and desserts because making a choice is going to be tough. I went for a pastry that had fresh bananas in it and a few even on top. Super delish! This place is definitely worth a stop when in Rio. The service was quick and very pleasant. Many of the employees do also speak English, which is very helpful as well. The only thing I would do differently next time is get something to go!

Yelp
I'm going to preface that I haven't had a salad in five days, everything here is fried, yo! That being said, i was so excited to find a place to get a salad. I started with the caprese salad. What i got was cheese, tomatoes, olives, and cucumbers. No lettuce? Alright, maybe it's a Brazilian thing. The tomatoes tasted nice and fresh, but to be fair everything was covered in pesto. Decent italian spot in Copacaba! Not amazing, not awful.

Yelp
The breakfast combo with a croissant or baguette with butter and jam, including coffee, espresso, or cappuccino is a steal. (Also, get your panettone for the holidays.) Oh, and free wifi.

Yelp
Breakfast/Brunch place that I use to go to (moved away from that area and have not been back recently). A large variety of cakes and pastries and good breakfast sets. Coffee is OK. I do like their croissant :) They do sell biscuits / cookies there too and the one I tried (love letters half coated in chocolate) is good! Had their ham and cheese waffles one and it was good, a wee bit too much cheese but I'm not complaining!

Yelp
Excellent place for delicious cakes and coffee. My wife has a sweet tooth and she can't help going there.

Yelp
Cute bakery / restaurant on Santa Clara with very friendly staff and oh by the way, free wifi. I ordered the good morning breakfast which was WAY too much food for me but very good! It had cheese (note, Brazilian cheese is very different than what you might be used to in the US), smoked turkey slices, two mini baguettes, orange juice, jam, butter, cream cheese and an espresso. The apricot jam with a little cream cheese on the baguette was definitely my fave combo. My boyfriend had 1/2 a papaya which tasted like candy and scrambled eggs. Overall, it was about a $20 breakfast and by far the fastest service I have yet to receive in Rio.

Yelp
Awful service and food is not good either. The ciabatta bread was one of worst I've ever had And the sandwich was served cold. The portions are not adequate. At least the coffee was better than the rest.

Yelp
Went for breakfast July 2014. The storefront was so pretty with lots of cakes, a good number of pastries and sandwiches on display. Seating is located at the back of the bakery - has 20tables or so and is packed on a Sat morning. Ordered egg white omelet with cheese and ham- was so good! The omelet was super moist and the ham, cheese was a generous serving. The cappuccino was strange though - loads of undissolved cinnamon powder at the bottom. I choked a few times due to the powder.

Yelp
I love this place. This restaurant kind of reminds me of being back home in Los Angeles where things are bit more familiar like their amazing Challah bread. I came here with a girl friend for an afternoon tea. We ordered from their breakfast menu and got a basket of bread with jam and yogurt. The croissants and capuccino were delicious and the whole experience was memorable. I would come back here again.

Yelp
Flaky croissants, banana pastries, apple strudels and other baked goods. Also salads, gourmet sandwiches, prosciutto and mozzarella on ciabatta, quiches, ricotta with sun-dried tomatoes, and lunch specials...yummmmm.
