I only intended on staying the weekend at The Balcony but it was so perfect that I cancelled my onward rental accommodation and based myself there for seven months! This charming, villa-esque hotel is immaculately styled with a calming, oasis like pool at its centre as well as a convenient deck for meditation or yoga.
I frittered away many a morning and afternoon here doing laps in the saltwater pool or lazing on the sun loungers. A good book is mandatory here! Furthermore, the people who work at The Balcony were kind, considerate and always accommodating and the on site kitchen is generously equipped with a plethora of breakfast items and good coffee offered each morning. My room itself had an abundance of natural light with vast ceilings and beautiful, wooden flooring. My gigantic bed, extremely comfortable mattress, the Moroccan styled tiling in the bathroom and the ample and luxurious bathtub were particular highlights of mine! I loved the location too; the Old Town was ten minutes away by bike and two excellent supermarkets were within a 10 minute walk away. Dangerously, there is also a stupendously good bakery (Nana bakery) across the road as well as a picturesque, weekend market nestled amongst coconut trees and lagoon like canals. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. I travel a lot and have stayed in many a hotel in my time, and The Balcony would be very close to the top of the list. Whether your stay be short or long, for business or for pleasure, I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
