The Balmoral Bar

Most delicious steak pie, very generous portion and the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious and some of the best food we ate during our holiday in the Cairngorms. Good service, happy atmosphere and very good value for money. Would highly recommend

Loved it here. Friendly local pub serving up some really good fish n chips, soup, burgers and curry. The fish n chips were huge and the star of the meal.

Best pub service we have ever had and good food - if your near visit here. We were planning a wander at balmoral castle but alas it was closed and they recommended the Balmoral Bar for lunch. Great stop on our journey and a cute town. Thank you

The food was amazing with a lot of gluten free options. I had the gluten free burger which was just amazing. The staff is very friendly and the general vibe is chill.

Busy spot on the high street of Ballater village. Super friendly staff. Enjoyed the burgers and haggis bon bons.

What a beautiful atmosphere in a beautiful town. We stopped in Ballater in the snow and loved the warm welcome at the pub. Great food, great wine and generous servings all round. Don’t miss it!

We popped in for a drink as we were stopping in our campervan nearby. What a great bar and lovely atmosphere. Very friendly and a great selection of spirits and beers including cask. We did not eat however saw the food coming out which looked fab. Next time we are here we will be having food. Parking across the road on the car park which is free and also on street.

I had the ham panini, which wasn't much of a panini, but the ham tasted good. My husband had the burger, but didn't like the seasoning. I tried his burger and agreed, not very tasty and the relish didn't help.

This place is to Ballater what Cheers is to Boston. If you go where. the locals go, you can never go wrong. I tried my fist Haggis here, and found it to be delicious. It was deep fried, like a tater tot. The bartender was awesome, being so very cordial to us yanks. But then again, everyone in this quaint little town was super nice

Vibe was great. Service was friendly, food was plentiful and delicious especially the steak pie and venison burger! Knowledgeable staff and all around great pub atmosphere, complete with plaid on the walls and floor!

It was a good spot to get a quick beer. The staff stuck to themselves and it was a bit hard to get their attention for service, but the beer was good and cold. Fun atmosphere.

This is a local pub and if you want the real deal, this is it. They have good beer on tap and simple pub food. I liked the Punk IPA on tap and the salt and pepper squid. The chicken barley soup made my wife happy on a cool rainy Scotland afternoon. We also had dinner here a day later and we're disappointed with the burgers. I suppose a Brit would be disappointed with the fish and chips in Arizona so I won't complain.

Very "local" place where you rub elbows with the village inhabitants. Absolute best Mac and cheese I have had in years. Great service and beer selections is wide.

This has been my favorite place to frequent during my stay in Ballater. They provide table service in their two dining/bar areas and their selection of food is desirable. The fish and chips are eye opening big! My first meal I had here was a meat pie on special which was terrific. The bar staff is friendly and willing to help with even odd requests (in our case we were looking for an empty cardboard box). I'll recommend Balmoral Bar to anyone remotely close to Ballater.
