The Balmoral

The hotel staff is beyond the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered while traveling extensively. From the hotel manager, reception desk, the restaurant, and the housekeeping staff, everyone was incredible. We had a room facing the water, so it was incredible to look out the windows and clearly see the water and beach. The room was not noisy at all. Breakfast had lots of options and we ate dinner in the hotel almost every night. We already booked this hotel for next year for 10 days.

Excellent place to stay in Durban. The hotel is located on the beach promenade in the safest part of the city. Very good breakfast. Food in the restaurant is very good. We tried buffet dinner that was very diverse (grilled seafood, beef, and veg curry). As it is a halal hotel, they don't serve alcohol. There is free parking. I really liked the vintage feeling of the hotel's interior. Zaheera, the office manager, was incredibly friendly and helpful. When I told her that we wanted to go to the jazz club, she arranged for the hotel's car to bring us there and then pick us up. Thank you 😃.

Old but still in great condition and well kept. I enjoyed my stay. Only downside was the limited parking, and waiting for your car when it was parked in another location. Not the quietest of areas of course, but it didn't keep me up at night.

Balmoral is truly an amazing hotel, it's very clean and they're staff members are super friendly... We stayed for 4 days and we were treated like royalty... Thank you Balmoral, we are definitely coming back. Our room was one of the BEST with a breathtaking view😍

Maintenance inside the rooms is slowly degrading. A nice revamp would be good. Reception doesn't inform customers about daily specials when they do the bookings.

This place needs a serious revamp from their floors, beds not comfy at all and rooms in general a not hotel standard clean and breakfast area is smokey and their food it's not to die for we ate because we had to eat breakfast otherwise we had 1 reception lady who made our stay enjoyable shame she apologized for all our complains forever friendly... Please revamp the place and please get more professionals and less students..
