The Bank Hotel Istanbul, a Member of Design Hotels

The Bank Hotel Istanbul in Karaköy totally exceeded our expectations — it’s one of the most memorable stays we’ve had in the city. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the perfect blend of historic charm and modern design in every corner of the property. The rooms are elegant and thoughtfully styled, with luxe touches that make you feel genuinely pampered.  The location is fantastic for exploring Istanbul — you’re right in the vibrant Karaköy district with easy access to great cafes, galleries, and the ferry to the old city — and the views from the rooftop are truly unforgettable. Whether sipping a cocktail at the roof bar or enjoying dinner with a skyline vista, it’s hard not to fall in love with the setting.  Add in superb dining options, a relaxing spa with a Turkish hammam, and thoughtful amenities throughout the hotel, and you’ve got a place that feels both intimate and luxurious. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a chic, comfortable, and unforgettable stay in Istanbul. 

This hotel is very deserving of its 5 star rating. The staff is super attentive and friendly. The location of the hotel couldn't really be any better for getting around Istanbul and seeing the signts. The hotel itself is beautiful and meticulously clean. The rooms are beautiful and classy. The breakfast is very good, a little limited but you can order eggs and other things from the staff. I have very little criticisms - 1. The beds are very hard. They definitely need to put a pillow topper on them, because basically you are just sleeping on straight up mattress.. after a couple of nights my back was hurting and I have slept on the floor in Japan for a month and never had back issues..😅 2. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace you can enjoy the amazing view. However they stop serving tea and coffee after 5pm. While I understand that there are probably legit logistical reasons for such a rule, as a non alcohol drinking person I just wanted to have some turkish tea with my dessert and view 🥲.. Those are the only things that I didn't care for. Regardless of these small nitpicks I would 1000% recommend this hotel and stay here again!

The perfect hotel in Istanbul and the perfect experience. We enjoyed it so much we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else on future Istanbul trips. Everything — the check in experience, the rooms, the breakfast, the spa and hammam, and the degree of helpfulness and kindness we received from the team — set this hotel apart. The Turkish breakfast in particular was lovely and high quality — I’d had some restaurants on my list but the hotel’s offering was so good there was simply no need to go elsewhere. If you are thinking about booking — do it! Thank you sincerely to the whole team for such a good experience.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bank Hotel Istanbul and would highly recommend it. We booked two rooms for two nights through Chase The Edit, and the experience exceeded our expectations. We were given two lovely adjacent terrace rooms connected by a shared private hallway, which was incredibly convenient for our family of four. The setup offered both privacy and ease, making our stay very comfortable. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts waiting for us in the rooms upon arrival. The staff throughout the hotel were attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly, always ready to help with a smile. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to use the $100 hotel credit at the hotel spa. We enjoyed a relaxing massage and tried the Turkish bath for the first time—an unforgettable and authentic experience. The location of the hotel is another big plus. It’s perfectly situated, making it easy to explore the city and access many of Istanbul’s attractions.

I stayed at the Bank Hotel 7-11 January. It was fabulous! The hotel is beautiful, and I love the marble floors and vaulted ceilings - I can feel how it was like back when it was a bank. Special thank you Sahar for organising the Dolma making session. I had so much fun! But all the staff at hotel were excellent and so very helpful.

We stayed 5 nights at the Bank hotel and everything was fantastic. Very beautiful ambiance, fantastic rooftop. Room was clean and cozy with a small varanda. Great breakfast options with a buffet and option to order additional hot made to order things like eggs etc. very friendly and helpful staff. Location was fantastic. You can walk through Galata neighborhood to the end of Istiklal Caddessi in just 30 min, and the train to Sultanhamet etc is just 7-8 min walking and a 10 min ride. Karakoy is a 5 min walk for restaurants and the water taxi. My next visit to Istanbul ill absolutely be returning. Just make sure if you want to take advantage of your Chase Sapphire benefits that you bring your physical card.

A welcoming check-in at this boutique hotel, chocolates are actually delicious, and convenient location! Rooms have gorgeous classical architecture and cozy-sized. FYI, the curtains don't block out all the light - bring an eye mask and you'll be fine. The breakfast is nothing to write home about, but it's convenient!

I booked this hotel through the Chase Sapphire Reserve “The Edit” program specifically for the stated benefits: complimentary breakfast and a $100 food and beverage credit per stay. My partner and I booked consecutive nights separately — two nights on my card, one night on hers — which means these were two separate stays, exactly as the program allows. The hotel refused to honor the second $100 credit. Their explanation was that because the nights were consecutive, Chase would not allow it. We called Chase directly, and Chase confirmed the opposite. Chase told us the hotel should honor the second credit and even reached out to the property on our behalf. The hotel still refused. To make it worse, they limited the use of the single $100 credit to the first portion of our visit, even though they were simultaneously treating the full three nights as one stay for the purpose of denying the second credit. It was inconsistent, inflexible, and clearly not aligned with the published benefits of the program. The property itself may be fine, but the way they handled this was disappointing. If a hotel is going to participate in a premium program like Chase Sapphire’s Edit collection, it should honor the benefits as advertised — not blame Chase and push responsibility back onto guests. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t book here again through Chase or otherwise.

I don't know where to begin! The Vault Karakoy is The PERFECT hotel. Staff was professional, helpful and genuinely nice, the hotel itself is gorgeous and walking distance to the Galata tower and Istiklal street which are must places To visit (make sure you drink a coffee at Autentic coffee house). I highly highly recommend it, Look no further and book your hotel, You won't regret it! Listen to their recommendations, they were all spot on. I don't think I've ever been this happy with a hotel!!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed. It's like a boutique hotel, small and cozy, very professional staff! Rooms are pretty and very comfortable! The best service we got from the concierge, I cant spell their turkish names but they really helped us with our itineraries! Best hotel in turkey! Truly recommend it!!!! You won't be disappointed! :-)

Exceptional service, perfect location, a true gem. The hotel is located within walking distance of just about anywhere we wanted to go in the city. Public transportation is also a five minute walk away. The conversion from a bank to hotel was executed with great attention to detail. The hand painted detail on ceilings in the bedroom, crown moldings and warm decor created a welcoming oasis at the end of a long day. Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel!!
