A lovely converted bank in the heart or Dublin. Walked in on a Sunday night after being turned away by some other local spots due to a lack of availability. Our party of seven was promptly sat, not just in the dining room but in a private room that used to be the managers office. The service was quick and efficient. Instead of having a dedicated server, everyone seemed to share the responsibility of checking up on us, taking order. Etc. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, eagerly ready to inform us of recommendations and answer any questions. The food was phenomenal. The bread tasted close to freshly baked, the soup was rich and creamy, the vegetables tasted like they had just been picked off of the vine. The entrees were all appropriate portions for the price, the accompaniments were all beyond complimentary to the entrees. The cocktail list was expansive and well rounded. The wine list wasn’t anything grandiose but meaningful and concise. The bank is beyond lovely, and look forward to returning.

Just had the coolest experience at a super fun place in Dublin…The Bank on College Green. 6 of us were seated in the snug, a private little room with tons of history. Adam was our waiter and he was awesome! Funny, professional and amazing service!! The food was delicious! We all loved what we ordered. A great night making memories in a fantastic place. Highly recommend!! Make sure you reserve (we did and had we not, we would not have been able to have dinner there).

Google
Fantastic! Loved the atmosphere, and the food was fresh and delicious! It's difficult to find a beautiful place that serves quality food, but here it is! We ordered the mussels, the monkfish, and the burgers (for the kids). LOVED it! The cocktails were really great also! Highly recommend!!!

Google
Food was fantastic . The service eas spectacular. The lovely girl who brought my son a cake and sang happy birthday was absolutely fantastic . Super friendly and accommodating to our needs. This place is very lucky to have such lovely staff working for them . I work in the industry myself and I must say 10 out of 10 for everything. My son loved it so much he said he wants to come back for his next bday .

We hopped off our bus right in front of this spot first thing in the morning. One look inside was more than enough to convince us to pop in for breakfast. The interior is absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious, definitely hitting the spot.

Google
Super good! Different ingredient mixes. Kale and zucchini in the ravioli, light on the sauce and ricotta. The blanched cherry tomatoes were such a nice touch! And the caprese had a spiced pear that was fabulous. Wonderful service! The ONLY reason for the 4 is the loud 70’s and 80’s music playing in this beautiful space.

It's always exhilarating to visit a location where the owners appreciate and preserve the history of a place. The Bank on College Green in the former Bank of Belfast is one such example. We ate breakfast here and loved the atmosphere and the service. The food and beverages were good, if you'd like to have a full Irish breakfast.

What a beautiful place to step into. Absolutely stunning. The outside is gorgeous and the inside even more so. Definitely worth visiting for a drink at the very least.

Yelp
Beautiful interior which made it feel super glamorous and upscale. The food was equally great as well as the service. Highly recommend this place for a good meal and atmosphere.

Yelp
Beautiful place to sit right off the College Green (Main Street). Hostess told us we can order drinks and possibly wait 30 mins to be seated. It was way less. She was so lovely to us. We ordered some tasty drinks. The Bank and the Bank75 which were delish!. Food is good. Both ordered fish and chips. So tasty. Come to enjoy the food, drinks and music

Yelp
Amazing food and service. First time in Ireland and I was not disappointed! 5 stars!!

Yelp
I highly recommend the Bank on College Green, and would include it in my essential places to stop at list while in Dublin. Even if you decide not to eat here, it is well worth going in for a drink. This restaurant/bar is dripping in charm and atmosphere. Located in an old bank, the bar holds court as the center piece of the establishment with well qualified bartenders mixing high quality cocktails. The interior, which was once the main banking hall, is a great example of an extraordinary ornate setting, stained glass ceiling, mosaic tiled floors and spectacular hand carved plasterwork and cornicing. The service was excellent. The server made great recommendations for food. In all I really enjoyed myself here and consider it to have the complete package for food, drinks, setting, and ambiance. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Yelp
A friend of ours recommended The Bank on College Green on our trip to Ireland, so we dined there the first night in Dublin. The location was perfect since we were pretty exhausted with the time difference and were staying at the College Green hotel up the street. This is a large restaurant with the bar downstairs and dining up above. The bar is lively here and we enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting for a table. The food here was very good. My wife and I went for the traditional fish and chips which we both thought was very good. The dinner with a Guinness was perfect!

Yelp
I'd give 20 stars if I could. My husband said it was the best seafood pasta he has ever had in his life. So much so we visited twice. The front hostess was lovely. The building was an old bank turned in to a restaurant. We have been back home from our visit for a while and are still talking about how we loved the Bank!

Yelp
The Bank on College Green is a well known local restaurant housed in a old bank location. Vaults and bank history decorate the locale. The bar and balcony are highlight but definitely don't overshadow the culinary offerings. The Pork Chop, Prime Angus Burger and Seafood Pasta was Top Shelf. The servers were numberous, timely and all very pleasant. There was live piano music to create the perfect ambiance. Great evening with the ladies.

Yelp
Definitely the best meal we had in Ireland! It was so good, we went twice! From the food quality, authenticity, warm service, to the esthetics of the restaurant, it was a pleasant experience. Everyone was very accommodating and it truly felt like an Irish experience when my family and I were there. Definitely get the monk fish, seafood chowder or seafood tagliatelle!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful interior, great staff, lovely ambience overall. I enjoy their cocktail selection and had a few espresso martinis and other drinks here.

Yelp
At first glance, this establishment looked very snooty. I was a little nervous walking in. But I am so glad we took a chance- very prim and proper but family friendly. Their selection of hot cocoa drinks is marvelous! We got cocktails - absolutely delicious. Didn't have much time here but would recommend going back to this beautiful spot.

Yelp
Loved my dining experience here! They were very accommodating to our group of 8 for lunch time dining. We walked in and initially were sat at the bar while they got a table ready for us so we all ordered drinks. The first beer I ordered they were out of so I went for another one by recommendation of the bartender. They then sat us in a little separate room off of the main dining area which was very nice! The whole atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is very cool since it is located in an old bank building. You can tell that the room we were sitting in used to be someone's personal office. Loved the decor and looking around at everything. They had a nice menu with options for all in our group. We had some picky eaters in our group but they were able to find something they liked. Prices felt very fair as well since it felt like we were in a nicer restaurant. I went for the chicken Caesar sandwich which came with a side of fries. The sandwich would have been good with a little more sauce but overall the flavor was good and I enjoyed the fries as well.

Yelp
Landed in Ireland and what do you do first? You go to the The Bank Bar on College Green! That's what you do. The Bank Bar in Dublin, opened in 2023, is a visual and sensory overload. Its beautiful sandstone work, highlighted in pink, was a bespoke moment for me. The Victorian architecture is remarkable and intricate. It was once a banking hall. I had the Irish Penicillin with Teeling Small Batch whiskey, lemon juice, and ginger. Smooth and smoky with a refreshing lemon citrus kick. If you're gonna drink, you might as well do it amongst grandeur architecture for the views.

Yelp
We literally walked around a corner and went in The Bank on an impulse for a late lunch. "This place looks good, let's try it." A minute later we had a mezzanine level table for two with a beautiful interior view. The service is professional and polite. The shepherds pie was rich, piping hot, and filling, my only complaint was it was overly salted but that didn't stop me from polishing off every delicious bite. The fish and chips is an upscale version of the classic. At first glance the fish portion appears to be smaller than you might expect but then the quality and density of the fillet is realized. All around excellent meal and service. We ate every drop of soup and bite of the main course, so it's hard not to give five full stars. We were so full we could not eat any dessert.

Yelp
I found this place out of the blue after the restaurant I wanted to try was fully booked. We ended up eating at the bar. The staff was AMAZING!!! He was so nice and got us our food and chatted about other places to go in the area.
google avatar

Alondra G.

Yelp
The service was excellent. Bartenders and waitresses anticipated our needs. The drinks were all good but not strong. The chowder soup was amazing and the butternut squash soup was also good. The fish and chips were hot and perfect. The monkfish diner was delicious but a little small.

Yelp
The building is absolutely incredible and jaw-dropping. Lady at the front door was super friendly and helpful. Our server was also very gregarious and friendly. He helped us with fantastic choices and we were so pleased. This building is gorgeous and deserves a visit when you're in Dublin.

Yelp
On our last day in Dublin, we wanted our last meal to be something more special than the local pub. We decided to go to this restaurant repurposed inside of an old bank. Walking in, the décor is breathtaking, as the high vaulted ceiling and the live piano music really transports you to an older century. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with some high tops beside the bar. We shared the a half dozen of Carlingford Oysters and I had the Sweet Potato, Kale and ChickPea Wellington. The oysters were lush and delicious, super fresh and well prepared for us. I've never had a vegetarian wellington before, so I loved my main meal. Didn't even miss the beef! Great flavors and wonderful presentation. We had a lovely last meal in Dublin and really appreciated the service.

Yelp
My Angus burger is the best I have ever had prayed they had too thinly sliced tomatoes one on the top and one on the bottom, deliciously caramelized onions and other magnificent flavors. The bun was slightly grilled. (My favorite way to have hamburger buns.) This restaurant is a true joy to look at, as you can tell from my numerous photos which I posted. People would come in and ask the lady at the small podium if they could take photos and not eat or drink. Permission granted if they (understandably) stayed at the door, slightly to the side to allow others to enter. Food and early 20th century (or more likely later 19th century) architecture are all to be enjoyed, which we did at the suggestion of our Charleston friend Joe Nicholson!

Yelp
WHAT A FUN PLACE! Many former banks and churches in Europe have given people what they really want... A pub.. The Bank on Collage Green is in the center of town, in a lovely old building that was a bank for the elite and royalty, but has since turned into a really well done restaurant and upper scale bar. Delicious food, a very personable staff, and the drinks.... Oh, how I miss that Irish coffee... Do yourself a favorite and stop in! Don't forget to check out the old vaults downstairs. The main original safe is in the men's room, but the whole downstairs in itself is very historic and interesting.
google avatar

Yelp
An inviting place from the outside, when you stick your head inside it looks spectacularly inviting appearing very high end. That turned out to be a bit deceiving as it is very loud inside with loud music. Our dishes weren't terrible but were quite unremarkable.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was fantastic ... Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was due to me trying to make a reservation the day before. The guy that answered the phone said they do not take reservations on Saturdays that it is all first come first serve. When we arrived, they asked if I had a reservation and then a group of 4 and a couple both had...... You guessed it ....... Reservations. The young lady explained that reservations are done online for the weekends and not by phone. But the guy never said that. What he said was there were not any reservations allowed for the weekends. Anyway ...... Fortunately we only waited 15 mins but still. As for the quality of food and service? Absolutely magnificent.... Fantastic even !!!

Yelp
This place is spectacular, the live piano player and the ambience was one of a kind. My partner and I came here our first night in Dublin, and this place lived up to its reputation. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to sit at a table top at the bar. The service was fantastic, they have everyone assisting and you had someone available at all times. The ice tea with lemon was so tasty, it actually surprised me on how good it tasted. I ordered the fish and chips and my partner had the free range of chicken supreme. Both meals were very filling, but if I went back I would order the chicken risotto meal my partner ordered. The flavor was amazing and I haven't had a meal like that on the states.

Yelp
Updated: thought I hit the 5 stars! We had mid-day drinks and appies. They were wonderful however, the atmosphere was beautiful! Stunning actually. The service was nice.

Yelp
This place is not a tourist trap at all! There were many Irish people as well. Thoroughly loved the interior decor (Christmas!!) and the food was incredible. The bar itself is also gorgeous to look at. We tried the fish and chips, and the seafood chowder. Chowder had tons of fish! Both were delicious and fresh. Service was fast and friendly
google avatar

Min Z.

Yelp
Situated in the heartland of Dublin, it looked almost too grand to enter. We thought it was a tourist trap, but were we nicely surprised. Baroque architecture, golden decorations, classy atmosphere. The food was top notch, the service was warm and friendly. Our jaws dropped when we saw the bill. We couldn't believe how moderately priced it was. They could easily doubled the price and we wouldn't have complained. Highly recommend! We tried: 5*Roasted Fillet of Cod- cod with Roaring Bay Mussels, New Baby Potatoes, té Samphire L Grapes in a Light Curry Broth: cod and mussels were very tender - as a matter of fact, the best and tenderest mussels I have ever had. Potatoes were good and to add grapes was a brilliant idea, very innovative. 5*Slow Braised Beef & Guinness Pie, Served with Roasted Duck and Fat Potatoes: every bite of the beef was tender. It was very well prepared and cooked. Perfect!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
If this is a tourist trap, I have never seen so many Irish business folks here having lunch. Upstairs there seem to be Irish heritage club chatting away. My steak Guinness pie was some of the best traditional Irish food I've had. Flakey puff pastry crowned a thick guiness pie. Fingerling potatoes was a nice balance to this decedent pie.

Yelp
Ok Ireland. I see you... First the Church. Now the Bank? What's next? The Pharmacy? I wouldn't be surprised if that's already been made...I literally want to come back to Ireland in like 5-10 years and see a bunch of bars like this. But I digress... You should go to the Bank if you have the opportunity. Me and my friends got lucky when we went and called ahead. The person on the phone told me they had a some tables available but we would need to get there soon because they would need them in an hour so it worked out perfect for us. When we entered we were shocked at what we stepped into. I mean the place totally looked like it could of been a bank previously. There was someone playing the piano on the side. It was pretty cool. Their selection seems to me more towards classic cocktails. So I decided to get my usual old cocktail. The perfect cocktail to taste some whiskey without so much of the burn. However the Bank has a twist. They smoke it. The presentation is quite a treat too. If you check my pictures you'll see the shots of them taking it out of a smoked chamber. Not only was the presentation amazing but so was the cocktail. This was probably my favorite old fashioned in Ireland. So yea again, if you have the ability to try this place I highly recommend. They also have food too. Definitely saw a tasty burger pass by me on the way out...

Mackenzie B.

Yelp
My friends and I visited Ireland for St. Patrick's Day, and we stopped here for dinner...all I can say is that it was amazing! The food, the staff, the atmosphere, were all incredible!!

Larry K.

Yelp
The Bank was recommended to us by a bar in Temple Bar. The interior space is elegant with a vaulted ceiling and a piano rather than Irish cloggers which I love. Oyster, delicate and fresh. Fish chowder not to be missed. Irish lamb pot stew wonderful. Cod dish voted by the table to be #1
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
This is one of those places you come to for the ambiance. I recommend making reservations in advance. The restaurant itself is beautiful! However, the food and service could be better. I ordered the Grilled Pork Chop. The food looked better than it tasted. The Anna Potatoes were almost inedible. We waited forever for the check after we asked for it and then waited forever again for them to come back and run our card. Overall, it's worth it just for the experience. I just wish the food and service had been better.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
This was our favorite and best meal while on vacation in Dublin. The restaurant itself was very beautiful and seemed somewhat historic. The "meat and potatoes" was very delicious and the overall meal was yummy.
google avatar

Peggy T.

Yelp
This was the best meal we had in Ireland. The interior was stunning the service was exceptional and the food was to die for. My seafood dish was out of this world. Not exaggerating when I say it was the best seafood dish of my life. Also YOU MUST GET THE SEAFOOD CHOWDER!!!! So so so good. We will be back.
google avatar

Jasmin P.

Yelp
Came here after dinner for a drink and dessert! Gorgeous bar!! We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super friendly! The Old Fashion was made well and brownie was perfect. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Glenn A.

Yelp
I love repurposed buildings and this was didn't disappoint! I mean drinking in a former bank? I'm there and was only briefly unfortunately as the banter from the bartender was top notch. Didn't have the time to eat although the breakfast menu looked tasty! I have this marked to come back too for sure as you should also when visiting Dublin
google avatar

N T.

Yelp
Super cool place to eat here at The Bank. We just had breakfast but it was amazing. Lots of options, from The Full Irish to porridge and eggs Benedict. Our big group had all of the above and more. The place is an actual old bank and they it looks like it could be a museum. Absolutely stunning. I was sorry we didn't make it back for dinner.
google avatar

Kai H W.

Yelp
The space is beautiful with great service and food. Our bartender is very knowledgeable and gave us really good recommendations on the whiskey tasting. The food was delicious with possibly the best shepherds pie I ever had.
google avatar

Heber P.

Yelp
I did not eat here but I did come here because they claimed to have the best Irish coffee so I had to come come in and try it for myself. It was definitely delicious

Gerry B.

Yelp
I had dinner here with a few colleagues from work. In general, I love restaurants that were former bank buildings because of the architecture (usually lots of marble and dark wood) and the grandeur. The Bank did not disappoint on that front. Our server was lively. She joked around with us and made sure all our needs were handled. Her recommendations on the food were excellent. I had the The Bank's Creamy Seafood Chowder with Guinness Brown Bread. The Chowder was a thick creamy base filled with big chunks of fish. I loved it. My main dish was the Free Range Supreme of Chicken. It was grilled free range chicken served with Spinach & Pea Risotto with a Creamy Oyster Mushroom Sauce topped with Parsnip Crisps. It was delicious! The Teeling Small Batch Whiskey Old Fashioned was smooth. I liked it so much that it motivated me to purchase a bottle of Teeling to take home to use for my Old Fashioned cocktails. This is now on my list of favorites for dining in Dublin.

Yelp
Amazing find and one you must go to when in Dublin! It was our first meal in the country and one that we won't forget!!! The service! The food, the ambiance!!! All fantastic!!!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Amazing views. Beautiful architecture and artwork. This historic dining experience was 10/10 on the worth it scale. The drink were impressive and the way were taken care of by the staff was off the charts. Truly made us feel like special guests in a packed restaurant. The steak was great with the peppercorn sauce, and the muscles were really good.

Kacie B.

Yelp
Fantastic! We had the soup and Shepard's pie! Desmond provided fantastic service, it was amazing watching him manage the entire restaurant to keep things moving smoothly! And the piano is an amazing addition to the ambiance! A must do if you're in the area!
google avatar

Elgin M.

Yelp
I found this place after I couldn't get into another popular steakhouse in Dublin. Lucky for me...... Service was awesome and the vibe from the converted bank would keep me coming back if I was from the area. You can't beat fresh Guinness poured for you less than a mile from where it was brewed.
google avatar

Megha N.

Yelp
Fantastic ambience. Good service. Decent food. Used to go for the mussels but their seafood chowder is good too. The place is way more beautiful than the pictures I took.
google avatar

Andre K.

Yelp
Very large restaurant, lots of people. The service was good and the food was average. It was recommended by a bartender from the "Palace Bar"
google avatar

Aba H.

Yelp
We were lucky to get a table for lunch. This restaurant (formerly a bank) was privately recommended by our tour guide for Dublin after we took her aside to ask for something more upscale than the chowder house she recommended to our group. Great ambience, much better cuisine than anticipated. My dish is pictured below. My wife also enjoyed hers, which was a seafood linguine. Pleasant service and well-kept unisex restroom.
google avatar

Tommy T.

Yelp
Our food was a very pleasant experience, presentation was very wonderful and my fish and chips were delicious. The service staff is very friendly and it was great experience. Just being there was a visual experience! We will back on our next Dublin adventures.

Yelp
Was sent here by the Westin Concierge, told we didn't need a reservation, arrived and were told to wait 25 minutes. Frustrating as "didn't need" and "don't take" are two different things. Let's put that on the Westin. I'd describe this place as big, noisy, and touristy, but also kind of pretty on the interior. So, to me, it's all about the trade-offs between the size, frenetic atmosphere, and nice setting. Basically, if you want a quiet meal (which we did), it wasn't a great fit. If you want to be in a big place with a lot of buzz and what I consider a pretty narrow menu for a place of its size, then why not. Net: check the menu to make sure you see something you want and then expect a high-energy interior. For me, while the fish & chips were quite good, overall it didn't work. We were seated in at an uncomfortable high-top near the door and our service was both slow and confused. The result: we accidentally over-ordered on drinks thinking they'd forgot the first oder (it had been so long) and then of course both came. Normally, that'd be OK but not really for us on that night. Think of it as a hoppy bar with pretty decent food and more bar-like than restaurant-like tables and you'll be happy. If you want a "real restaurant" for dinner, I'd look for alternatives.

Kelly F.

Yelp
This establishment is gorgeous and the food was good as well. Good portions and not too expensive. Entire staff was very nice and personable.
