Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, Review

"Before dinner I had drinks set to live piano in the swanky Bar Car 3674, a convivial prelude where passengers mingled and dressed for the train’s strict, romantic dress code, turning the entire evening into a staged, glamorous affair." - Adam Erace Adam Erace Adam Erace is an award-winning food and travel writer, restaurant critic, and cookbook author. We have found our new favorite neighborhood bar! Small space, excellent service and they have daily specials. They also serve pretty amazing BBQ here, including other menu items. Several people have come in to get BBQ to-go during our visit, which prompted us to try it --- Did not disappoint, YUM! They also have Bingo here weekly and a DJ on Saturdays which is pretty fun.

I think bartender and one of the owners told me upon my asking that the bar had been there since 1940-something and originally was The Boulevard Inn. It's a quaint and small place, that I'd return to. Perhaps we'll return for food sometime.

Super crowded, but was able to find a table. Not a young adult atmosphere, more classic bar atmosphere. Staff was super friendly & helpful. Drinks were strong & really good! Heavy pour, which is what we are all looking for! Haha prices were decent. Vintage vibe atmosphere. Great for bar hopping.

Wow! I'm so annoyed that my first time at this bar was this last Saturday because it's now on my list of favorites and I've been missing out for the past 5 years in Denver. My husband and I went for date night after some Korean BBQ next door. I didn't know what to expect especially since we were not too familiar with this neighborhood. My husband and I got a seat at the bar and ordered some drinks. It's not quite a "dive bar" but it's not uppity and pretentious like some places in and around Denver. They have a touch tunes type box which we love and got to play some songs that another bartender enjoyed as well. The friendly bartender told us about the Owl saloon, too which wer are definitely going to try as it's less than a mile from our home . It seemed like it might have been a local favorite hangout and quite honestly reminded us of "home" in the South. Thanks for a great evening!

Clean with good music. This bar offers inexpensive drinks with staple comfort food options like burger, fries, and bbq plate. Often visited by Congress Park locals, this is a great place to hang out on any afternoon. The restrooms are also clean and I love the industrial look of it. :)

This place rocks to prove it I wrote a song: Title: “The Bar Car Blues” (Fast 4/4 AC/DC barroom rocker) Verse 1 Down by the tracks where the lights don’t fade, Chrome and smoke and deals get made. Bar Car’s jumpin’, crowd’s gettin’ loud, Bronco fan’s tall and he’s workin’ the crowd. Pre-Chorus Bill’s at the bar with a pour like fire, Grins like sin, fuels your desire. Chorus Roll on, roll on in the Bar Car tonight, Whiskey train rollin’, everything’s right. Bill keeps pourin’, crowd’s on fire, Tall Bronco man fan feeds the choir! Verse 2 Boots on the floor and the jukebox screams, “Whole Lotta Rosie” breakin’ dreams. Bill slaps the bar, “One more round!” Bronco fan spins, tears up the ground. Pre-Chorus Shots go down, lights go red, Bar Car’s burnin’, keep your head! Chorus Roll on, roll on in the Bar Car tonight, Whiskey train rollin’, everything’s right. Bill keeps pourin’, crowd’s on fire, Tall Bronco man fan feeds the choir! Bridge Leather, laughter, lightning glass, No one here lets the good times pass. If you hear the roar, you’re already late, ‘Cause Bar Car Bill just locked the gate! Final Chorus Roll on, roll on in the Bar Car tonight, Bronco blues under neon light. Bill’s the king with the devil’s grin, In the Bar Car, baby—let the rock begin
