Catch 22 Seafood in Brightwood Turns Into The Bar @ Milk & Honey - Eater DC

"The Motown music-playing venture is called “The Bar @ Milk & Honey” and now has a full bar inside that makes a whopping 26 cocktails. “The rebranding to our founding company (Milk & Honey Cafe) will prove to be even more satisfying for your taste buds,” reads a statement on Catch 22’s now-defunct web page." - Tierney Plumb

I loved Catch 22. We reserved a table for brunch on a Saturday. Upon arrival, we were seated within 5 minutes. We were promptly greeted by the waitress and handed our water drinks. I ordered the crab cake benedict which was good. My party had the fried crab legs with a waffle and the chicken and cheesecake waffle. Everyone enjoyed their food. Only bad thing is the check took forever to come but that didn’t affect my overall rating of my experience. I would definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing!!!! I love this place. The food was so tasty. Everything was good and fresh. The service was fast and efficient. My server gave great feedback to help with our selections. I have never been disappointed with anything from Milk and Honey. It gets better and better each time!!! This is the absolute best French toast I’ve ever tasted. The Cajun salmon pasta was a perfect blend of flavors. I would give 10 stars but google only allows 5. I cant wait to travel to DC or Atlanta to eat at this place again. Please open a location in Charlotte NC!!!

The food here is tasty. The deep fried crab was my favorite. I did feel like the other items needed a little more salt but that could easily be fixed at the table. The service here is ATROCIOUS. No greeting when you come in, and we had a reservation and they didnt seat us until almost 30 minutes later. They were not busy. When we asked for an update on time, the hostess was dismissive. The waitress was friendly enough, however she kept forgetting items and we had to keep reminding her. The food took almost an hour to come. I am not sure whether I would return.

Atmosphere is great. Music and service is professional. The food is really good. I had the Creole seafood and grits. This was an amazing this dish. Brunch drinks are great. The portion size is more than enough. All of the staff is friendly. Highly recommend you try Catch 22 out. Great spot for a few friends getting together. Call ahead and make reservations

My Friend wanted to try Catch 22 located in uptown on Georgia Avenue, NW. The Owners of Catch 22 also own and operate, Milk & Honey in College Park and Bowie, Maryland. I have yet to go to the other locations, but my Friend says the one is College Park is the best of the two. You can only order from the brunch menu, but there is quite a selection so come hungry!! My Friend ordered the Jumbo Lobster, Egg & Cheese Biscuit Biscuit and I had the salmon cakes & garlic herb and potato hash. Both entrees came with a kale salad. I personally don't like raw kale, but did try the salad and it was pretty good. I also ordered a side of fried okra, which I don't believe is on the menu. While they offer chicken and waffles, I decided to try something different. I had the grand Bellini topped with Grand Marnier and my Friend had the mango mimosa (in the champagne glass). Our waiter brought complimentary biscuits topped with warm strawberries. If you decide to order, ask for the strawberries to be cold versus warm. We went on a Sunday and there was a short wait. If you are going for brunch you may want to reserve a table ahead of time, especially if you have a large party. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before if you have a reservation because it was tough to find a parking space.

I wish they had more signage. We rode past it twice before we ended up calling to find out exactly where they were. The decor is a little outdated, but the food and the service left us wanting to come back. We had a groupon which is what led us to go here for my mom's birthday. Buy the $40 groupon & you got $100 in food. We had the shrimp/grits; fried fish w/fried green tomatoes & grits; lamb chops with potato hash; fried chicken wings; fried crab legs & we topped it off with the fried strawberry shortcake biscuits. I dont know who the chef is, but he definitely knows what he is doing. Everything was good, flavorful & hot when it came to us. Everyone knows that even with good food, you need to have a good experience. We had the best server - Jasmine. You should ask for her when you go there. She was attentive to us. Catered to us & did it all with a smile & fun & love. She didn't know us but she treated us like she did. Thank you Jasmine for making my mothers birthday a great experience. We will definitely go back!

I didn't know The Bar @ Milk & Honey was in my NW DC neighborhood until my sister told me. The food at this location is just like College Park... delish (and there are other locations too)! Beautifully plated entrees and enormous portions; it's impossible (to me) to eat all of the food in one sitting; request a carry-out box if you must! Menu selections don't break the bank and a friendly, courteous staff awaits to serve you. Our server, Mackenzie A., was marvelous; quick with a smile and efficient. Reservations here are a must; nice crowd, easy listening background music, a great brunch spot. Parking? You're on your own with street parking, ridesharing, or walking. My recommendations are not about the food: Whenever the budget allows, consider signage on the awning, perhaps a bit of neon signage to let drivers know at the busy intersection of Georgia and Missouri Avenues (where the Ibex nightclub used to be many years ago) that you are here (of course, the regulars already know)! Consider incorporating flowers around the exterior, replacing or removing some of the shrubbery. I'm happy to know that The Bar @ Milk & Honey is nearby, because I will return again and again!

I was initially going to head to oohs and aahs but my barber suggested this place and I am glad he did. The food was amazing and the portions are beyond sufficient. It's actually owned by the same people who own Milk and Honey. Anyway I got the jumbo lobster egg and cheese biscuit biscuit ... And it is jumbo and as you see it's a biscuit biscuit. My fiance got the creole seafood and grits. Food was great. We were full and had leftovers. I fully recommend this place.
