The Bark Cafe: Great Ambiance and Delicious Food Ratings: • Food: 4.5/5 (Delicious chicken wings and deep-fried squid; slightly pricey) • Atmosphere: 5/5 (Fantastic, pleasant, relaxed outdoor setting; spacious and lively) • Overall: 4.5/5 (Great atmosphere and delicious food outweigh slightly higher prices) Donkey and I recently organized a cycling trip for our group, and The Bark Cafe was the perfect stop. It's a short ride from Punggol, making it a convenient location. The ambience was fantastic; a really pleasant, relaxed outdoor setting with warm lighting and a lively atmosphere. We especially appreciated the spaciousness and the general feel of the place, which was just right for our group. While the food is on the pricier side ($15-$35 per dish), the drinks were reasonably priced, and we were thrilled to see they offered Guinness on tap. A friend ordered the signature chicken wings and deep-fried squid, and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken wings were enormous even six of us couldn't finish the six piece serving. My friend even took some home! Based on these two dishes, we can highly recommend the food quality. Overall, despite the higher food prices, we had a wonderful time at The Bark Cafe. It's a great place for a casual meal with friends.

Nice lunch place without Aircon but was still bearable with big fans and nice design to let wind flow through. Food choice from local to western and the pork lard was the deciding factor for giving top marks to the Hokkien noodle. Very good value given 2 abalone, 3 fresh prawns and generous serving of seafood. Service staff was attentive. Good mid day chill out place for drinks too.

It’s nice little cafe with almost all outdoor seating. Food is slightly higher priced than quantity. Quality is average and could be better. It doesn’t have many or any good vegetarian options so if you are vegetarian, this may not be right place. Service and staff are excellent. The vibe is top notch. There is parking available.

Nice long time cafe. Windy even when it’s hot. Burgers are ok. Roast chicken is tender and fries come with truffle oil.

Having lived near Pasir Ris for several years, I never knew about this restaurant until a friend introduced it to us. I really like the ambiance here—very peaceful. Although the restaurant is next to a road and condominiums, it feels like a world of its own, free from noise. The staff are also very polite and friendly. The biggest surprise was that even without air conditioning, the place is pleasantly cool, making it comfortable even for someone like me who dislikes the heat. Food: The food quality is decent overall and quite satisfying. We tried half a dozen oysters- not the most flavorful or creamy variety, but they were fresh. The steak preparation was also good, though it lacked a bit of beefy flavor. Entrainment: The restaurant even has a dartboard for diners to enjoy. At just $2 per game, it was a fun activity for kids. Although the prices are on the higher side, the unique environment makes it a nice option for festive celebrations or special occasions.

Yelp
This is basically the refreshment stop for those who visit the Changi museum, and basically it is right next door. Well, you can also grab a bite to eat here, though when I was here I simply had a drink while waiting for the next bus to arrive (which pass by every fifteen minutes). It is a good place to sit to take in what you have just seen in the museum (though of course there is nothing stopping your from coming here before going inside). It was okay, but then again there isn't much else in the area to compete with it.

Yelp
Nice Cozy place to hang around with friends. My Friends brought me there to celebrate my birthday the year before. Its an outdoor alfresco dinning serving Chinese & western food. Didn't know that there's a gem hidden up in the secluded area. Its was a breezy night fill with laughter. The ambience is relaxing and its a good place to chill out with friends. The service crew is polite and they offer good recommendation. We order quite a big spread of variety ranging from chicken wing, fries, osyters, burgers, spaghetti, duck meat. The food is simply tasty and worth every penny.

Yelp
The Bark Cafe gets surprisingly busy on weekends - you won't be able to miss it, as there are cars parked even on the verge of the carpark at Bark Cafe. It has a great relaxing atmosphere, draft beers, and serve both western and 'chinese/singaporean' food - some of their most popular dishes are their deep fried chicken wings (you'll see a basket of them on almost every table) and with good reason, the batter is amazing and the wings juicy and hot - and their hor fun. The hor fun wasn't great, it tasted very much like cubed chicken stock - and didn't have that fiery smell (I've had much better elsewhere). But overall a decent place for dinner and drinks around the east!

Yelp
Average. This place is only average in my book. Warm and muggy and having to deal with flies and Mosquitos. Their "famous chicken wings" is basically prawn paste chicken wings, which was about the same as what I have had at many other zhi char stalls. It was not bad, but a bit overrated. As stated by many other reviewers, the starters came AFTER the main course. WHY? The smoked pepper duck was ok. The salad that came with it looked old and faded. Overall, I'm underwhelmed.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong: I love the ambience here, which allows you to be laid-back, to relax and get away from the bustling city. However, I was sorely disappointed that the food was not as good as I would have expected, given the prices that I was paying. I had the smoked duck while my party had the fish and chips. First off, the duck tasted rubbery and had lost most of its texture after it had been cooked. The peppery skin overpowered whatever natural flavours had been in the meat. The fish and chips were a little too oily for my party's tastes, and there wasn't a lot of fish meat under that crispy, fried skin. I'd admit that the café does its french fries well. We didn't try the chicken wings, which is supposedly the café's speciality.

Yelp
This is a great place to hang out with some friends. The music is pure quality, and the service too is excellent. It is one of the few places in Singapore where you will find parking right outside. What I like about the parking is the lack of system, this allows you to maximize the empty spaces on the grass, along the side and so on. It is a decent distance away from any other night life joint so it does give that feeling of isolation. The food isn't bad too, the speciality for me being the Chilean Cod Fusion, I've had this 3 times before and never once has it disappointed me! The restaurant is decked out in magnificent lights, and the sitting arrangement is positioned very comfortably, allowing ample space between tables. For me, this is a great place to find a temporary escape from the city life, almost makes me feel like I am on holiday!

Yelp
Located beside the Changi Chapel and Museum, The Bark Care is a fully al fresco joint that has no air-conditioning. But it's surprisingly breezy and has a a calm, relaxed vibe about it. Thanks to its secluded location, it's actually great for slipping away from the hustle and bustle of city life to have a drink or two with friends. It's also great as the people that come are usually its regulars, so you enjoy some sort of an extended family feel, where everyone sorta knows each other. The selection of beer is great and prices are affordable. The food is really average so don't come here to satisfy any hunger pangs. Other than that, it's a good place to relax and have a beer.

Yelp
Food quality is ok but price is rather expensive considering the location. Final bill includes service charge and GST.

Yelp
Food was good. Ambience quiet nice! Service not bad. Informal. Nice place to chill out with friends.

Yelp
The entirely alfresco restaurant serves coffeehouse-type fare, so you get a hodgepodge of local classics like nasi goreng and seafood hor fan, as well as western mainstays like beef stew and cheeseburgers. The food was ok, but if I had to take into account the 40-minute drive in heavy traffic from town, I wouldn't go to The Bark Cafe. That said, this would make a worthwhile visit IF you're already in the area and looking for sustenance in a chilled-out spot with lots of quiet and charm. We had: 1) Tangy Calamari Rings ($9.90): thinly battered and deep-fried to a delectable crisp, but what impressed me was that the squid encased within was perfectly cooked. 2) Sweet Potato Sticks ($13.90): balanced out by the salty creaminess of the Parmesan mayo dip. 3) Bark Cafe Famous Chicken Wing ($15.90 for 6 pcs): they really shouldn't have slapped a superlative such as this, because it set expectations too lofty to meet. The prawn paste-accented wings were nice, but vapid, and so, failed to leave an impression. I've had better for less. 4) Smoky Black Pepper Duck Breast ($18.90): surprising refined. I wouldn't have expected a casual place like this to serve this typically highbrow dish, or to do it this well. Sparkling fresh meat, with nary a hint of game, was slow-roasted to luscious perfection. This was sided by wafu-dressed mesclun greens, and mashed potatoes. 5) Fish & Chips ($18.90): decent, but the deep-fried Pacific dory fillet was a dime a dozen. 6) Grilled Guinness Balsamic Chicken ($19.90) marinated in Cajun herbs, sided by steamed root vegetables, mashed potatoes, and slathered in a Guinness beer gravy: nice enough, but it reminded me of those hawker centre western food stall productions. 7) Chicago Roasted Tenderloin ($29.90): even though cheap, this was lackluster. The beef was gamey, so no amount of roasting finesse could save it.

Yelp
Nice place to chill and hangout, good for couples, good for family too! Food is nice and there is a wide selection. It can get a bit hot though, cos ventilation is not too good if you happen to sit near the kitchen door.

Yelp
Went there yesterday. Reached there about 1700hrs. The environment was good. The food was good. Only worry is if it rains, then might get wet because ceiling was high and there was no side shielding.
