The Barn Café Hackescher Markt

Absolutely love this store, they make the best coffee that reminds me of the ones I enjoy back home in Australia. The workers Mika, Rùta, Anna, Hyejeong and David are amazing people -- they make me feel like I'm at my second home. I've made an effort to stop past every day before I start work and it's easily the best way to start the day and get a good mindset for work :) Keep doing what you're doing guys, love y'all!! 🫶

I tried the flat white, and although the price was above average, I really didn’t like the taste. The coffee was weak and slightly bitter—possibly due to the beans they use or their roasting style—but it had a burnt, almost plastic-like aftertaste. For this price, you can find far better coffee in Berlin. There’s really no need to give this place a try. The interior is also not comfortable for sitting; there are only stools, and they’re quite uncomfortable. On top of that, there’s no restroom available either.

The atmosphere is nice, coffee was bitter and over extracted. I used to buy the barn beans back in Canada, so I thought it won't hurt to give it a visit on my trip. Coffee was way over extracted and bitter. Flat white temperature was not right either. Overall, a very poor experience. I could not drink my coffee after the second sip. It looks like when specialty coffee becomes franchised, its no longer special!

I went here on a local recommendation, and while the coffee was great and the café has nice ambience, it is really bizarre to not have a toilet for customers. This makes no sense for a coffee shop. When I asked one of the baristas, their suggestion was to go to the Starbucks nearby the train station.

At least I had a laugh. It was a super hot day when I was looking for a refreshment - Iced coffee would be great! So I entered the closest option in that moment: the barn. One iced americano to go please. - that will be 4,10€ please. - kindly hands me my iced americano few minutes later The iced americano: 😅 In german one would say - frech.

No matter which location we visit around Berlin, The Barn never fails to deliver top notch coffee and great service. Their baristas are friendly and will find out your preferences so they can suggest the right coffee to enjoy in-house, or the right beans to take home.

Beautiful spot for coffee in the city center with pleasant staff. They didn’t even get mad when I accidentally took a glass they had pre-warmed for coffee and used it for the free water. 🤣

Awesome coffee and atmosphere. My absolute go-to whenever I’m in the area. Very professional barista - super kind, super chill :) highly recommended for anyone in need of a cozy time
