The Barracuda

After a full day of traveling we scored the best dinner with clearly a skilled chef on staff! Wonderful selection and the meals were both delicious and plentiful. Homemade is definitely noticed in the pasta, fresh seafood and posh starters (carrot/ginger bisque is a winner). We will definitely need another meal with room for dessert. Staff was very kind and helpful with perfect timing when you needed something.

Had a very good meal at the barracuda a few days ago. My only drawback would be the array of projection lamps used for the lighting. It gave the dining area karaoke vibes. While it made for a colorful dining experience, it masked the excellent plating. I joked that it looked like we all got the same thing because everything was so red. Turning the flash on revealed some beautiful plates. My banana leaf wrapped fish was one of the best things I had in Hopkins. Really appreciated the prompt and friendly service. Would return in the future.

If you’re in Hopkins or just passing through, this IS THE PLACE to eat. Absolutely incredible food. You actually have quite a selection and many choices on what to eat. The food is why you come to this location, but it’s not even what you’ll love the most. The staff is absolutely incredible. They are so personal and helpful. They spend the time to learn your name and they use it often. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is amazing. Because it’s located on the beach, the sights, sounds, and smells are just what you’re looking for. In the evening, they have a lower light and colored bulbs to help you feel at ease. Everything I’ve had to eat here has been nothing short of amazing.

Very cool spot right on the beach. Great fresh food and beverages. At night the lighting gives a very romantic vibe. Service is friendly and prices are great for what you are getting.

We came here for breakfast a couple times during our recent stay in Hopkins. It is fun to walk down the beach for a change of scenery and we thought the breakfast was tasty and a good value. Nice to be able to drink coffee and eat fruit while you wait for your fry jacks and eggs!

Horrible experience. Maybe because my group was black, because no other tables received the service we did. Waiter took forever to get our order written down correctly but he was patient in trying as he was just thrown in to be OUR waiter and was not a waiter. The bartender was awesome and made our drinks just right, even checked on us to make sure everything was tasty. Our appetizers finally came and were delicious but after waiting a while for our entree, we received cold mashed potatoes and a piece of pork chop (in which I don’t eat) when we all ordered the rib eye medium rare. It went down hill even more from there. The plates were sent back and a woman came over being very nasty and even walking off as I was speaking nice and calm with her to make sure everything was correct. At that point, I had had enough and asked them to cancel everything and we left. The woman continued to have an attitude and come toward my group being nasty as we proceeded to leave. The bartenders were the only two people that really were nice, apologized (even though they did nothing wrong), and made us feel welcomed as we are visiting the area for a week. Beware!!!

We ate here each morning while in Hopkins. The breakfast was delicious and you get a lot for your money. It was simple to order and the service was so kind. Highly recommend for an easy breakfast that is delicious!

Service is great and the food isn't too bad either. Can't complain when they do their own pig roast over deliciously smoky wood. As far as places to eat in Hopkins go, this is one of the better spots you can go to. Great prices on lobster and other seafood and the portions are fairly large.
