Wonderful campsite with clean toilet and shower facilities. Fresh Lavazza coffee vending machine (very nice), ice creams, cold drinks and ice. Very spacious grounds with no allocated areas. Wonderful walking tracks, lots of good fishing spots for kids. Very safe unsupervised swimming areas for kid. Good and clean bbq facilities. A wonderful spot for a 7 day camping trip. Highly recommend.

The most idyllic campground! This little piece of paradise is a short 20 min ferry from Palm Beach. Excellent facilities.. including fire pits, a secluded swim spot and Magnum stocked vending machines! Enjoy the local residents, including wallabies, goana, bush turkeys and a myriad of birds as they roam the site. Already planning our next stay!

We spent 2 nights camping at the basin. It was amazing. There is lagoon and beach to swim in. Free electric bbqs around to cook your food. Showers and toilets are clean. The Rangers onsite were very friendly and assisted us. It does get quite busy as it is a popular spot. The ferry over was easy from palm beach. Ice and bait are sold twice a day. There a few vending machines available that have coffee, water, icecream, snacks.

Brilliant camp ground, kid friendly, crowded on weekends though. Accessible via boat (ferry or charted landing craft to the beach or yacht moored offshore), Gas BBQ's provided, and potable water. Plenty of wildlife to entertain the children,

Beautiful place to camp for the weekend and such a great getaway from Sydney! Pros: • all the wallabies and birds around (we even saw an echidna while hiking!). • ferry to the campsite is convenient (only $10 AUD each way) and runs every hour. • the area is absolutely beautiful, with grass to camp on in designated spots • there’s one hot shower, but it’s coin-operated ($1 for 3minutes). I wish I had known this sooner! • The BBQs are super clean. • designated fire pits, but you need to book in advance. • the bay is gorgeous—truly picturesque—and the water is lovely • a great hike nearby consider this: • pretty busy campground ( bring earplugs) • be aware of ticks Other than that, it’s such a beautiful camping spot! Does this work better?

Lovely isolated campground with spectacular scenery. Access is by ferry or water taxi, so you need to bring everything without a car and it’s harder to pop down to the shops for sausages, but the campground is lovely with beaches on two sides, including an area the kids can wade out into. It’s got a great view of the bay and wildlife wandering through - we had wallabies, brush turkeys, lace monitors and ducks on site, and bird song (and cicadas) all around.

This beautiful location is accessible via ferry that leaves from Palm Beach Wharf, the ferry times are on average every hour with a missing timeslot around 1pm. It's about $10 adult to get the ferry across to The Basin. No dogs are allowed. Once there you will see a beautiful grassed area, on the right is camping area and on the left of you walk over is the beautiful Basin swimming area. It's a lovely peaceful little area that has a shark net up on one side of the inlet. You can see lots of wildlife such as wallabies, goanna, kookaburras, fish, birds, etc and it's an amazing picturesque location for tourists to see some very beautiful hidden locations in Australia and experience some fauna in the wild. As well of course enjoy a beautiful picnic or bbq and swim. There are toilets and bbq facilities there but not much else and you need to bring everything with you there. There is another walkway through bush to get there but easiest by ferry. If needed there is also a water taxi to the Basin but it's a lot more expensive. Perfect day out though with friends, family, overseas visitors etc... whilst swimming we saw jellyfish 🪼, sting rays, fish, wallabies and their joeys, kookaburras and a goanna as well as seagulls and other birds. There was only 1 wallaby there on arrival, with a joey in her pouch, which is unusual as usually there are so many. There's a ferry that leaves opposite Barrenjoey House, at the Palm Beach Wharf which takes you to The Basin. We missed the ferry and arrived at 12.30pm and there's not another one till after 2pm so we took the water taxi over and joined some tourists who also missed the ferry. Just as well because the last ferry from The Basin was just after 3pm then another big gap in the next one, so we caught the ferry back. The Wharf is opposite Barrenjoey House in Palm Beach.

What a perfect spot to relax and enjoy few days camping. $10 each way on the ferry from Palm Beach. $3 per person for just a day visit. Camping booking required. Rangers walking around to check if booking fee was paid. Showers, toilets, bbq available. They also sell ice and fishing bait for 15min in the morning, and for 15min in the afternoon. Coffee vending machine available.
