I stayed over a weekend in January with my dog Monty. The room was lovely, warm and comfortable. I stayed in the Focsle which had a sea view. The food was very good and the staff were very welcoming, accomodating and helpful. I would like to give a shout out to Ren who greeted me at reception and helped carry my bags to my original booked room a double with seaview on the top floor. It was a lovely room but the radiator in the bathroom wasn't working so Ren organised my move to the Focsle. Ren also mixes a mean Bramble cocktail served in the hotel Aubrey Cocktail Bar which had a roaring wood fire. Thank you Ren. I would also like to give a shout out to Bek who works in the Restaurant and Ancient Mariner Bar - Excellent Service Bek, thank you.|The hotel is in a very good position. I purchased a 4 day parking permit for only £15 from the Exmoor National Park Centre on the Espanade. |I had a very good experience and I will definitely be going back.

My partner and I planned a last minute night away to relax before Xmas. The hotel is lovely. Very ‘oldy worldly’ and quirky. The rooms each have their own theme and names, we stayed in the fo’c’sle. The hotel has an overall nautical theme and has plenty of character. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Staff very friendly and attentive. We had a meal in the ancient mariner. Very nice food. Breakfast included in the room price. We had breakfast in the galley which was a really pleasant environment. Again, staff friendly and keen to help. Breakfast was fantastic. Great continental selection and the hot food was also lovely. Would definitely come back, already looking to return next March! thank you bath hotel :)

Just stayed in this hotel and it was beautiful. We was upgraded to a suite. The rooms was quirky as stated in the reviews, however that added to the stay. The bed was so comfortable. The room was immaculate. The adjoining pub was welcoming and served gorgeous food 😋. During our stay we was fortunate to experience at local Shanty evening , thoroughly enjoyed.

The pub an d hotel are charming. |The rooms are a bit like a rabbit warren and it took me quite a while to find our room having been given incorrect directions. |It took us a little while to realise the heating was turned off. |It would have been nice for the hotel to put the heating on at our arrival. |The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and we were able to take our dog into the bar restraunt for meals.|The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The attached pub was a lovely place to dine and relax.|The hotel is in a lovely situation, close to the harbour. The hotel was very quiet due to the time of year and the increment weather and we were a bit disappointed that we weren't allowed to park in the reserved places which remained vacant throughout our stay.|There is plenty of car parking close by so it wasn't a big problem. |We would definitely recommend it and will probably return some time.

We had 2 nights in The Aviary. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff were excellent - Bek the waiter was so attentive and professional. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast amazing. The afternoon tea could be tweaked a trifle. The massage brilliant. Despite the weather we enjoyed bracing walks. I just wish the adjoining shop - The Lightning Tree had been open. I look forward to returning next year.

Attention to detail in this hotel is outstanding. Nothing is placed by mistake. The guest requirements have been taken into account and accommodated accordingly. Plush luxury. |Food, from the pub meals to the dog friendly section of the restaurant to the main plush restaurant, delicious, with a variety to choose from. Staff ask about food allergies, a high five for that as I cannot remember when last in my travels worldwide anyone asked. |Prices very reasonable for the quality and portions. |Service; the team are efficient, friendly and flexible. I have witnessed them win over a few "challenging" guests the past couple of days.|The Bar has an amazing ambience, I as a female traveller on my own, sat on a Saturday afternoon, caught up with some work in a safe and yet jovial environment. ||

The website offered a 3 Night Winter Getaway. The food menus looked interesting and the rooms comfortable.||We used the Artist Suite because we had our dog with us. The room was lovely and spacious but it took us a day to realise that the heating in the room had been turned off. Also that even with the radiators, on the heating didn't start until 6pm, somewhat late for a winters day.||The restaurant menu, one of the reasons we had chosen to visit with venison, sea bass, spatchcock chicken and chateaubriand on offer, was not available. All that was on offer was the pub food menu from the Ancient Mariner. The only plus was that the pub food was beautifully cooked and presented; the chef was excellent.||Breakfasts were only okay. The cooked food was excellent again but the selection of cereal, fruits and juices was not great. We were unimpressed to be told before our last day that breakfast would start 30 minutes later at 8.30am because the hotel was moving to its winter timings.||The staff were very friendly and willing to help if a bit disorganised on occasions. We have never stayed anywhere where you have to ask to have your room cleaned.

This really is a tale of two hotels - on one hand lovely staff and great food but what a strange experience! We booked a mid week special two night stay via Travel Zoo but we certainly didn't have the stay we were expecting! Sharp intake of breath as we entered as it was absolutely freezing and our room (Botanist) whilst charming was practically sub zero and I would think hadn't been used for a while. (To put this into context - my husband is a mountaineer and ice climber and we are both pretty hardy.... often going to Dartmoor in our campervan during winter etc. etc. !) The hotel's lounge was closed - apparently only open on Friday and Saturday. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner...... although our offer included dinner in the restaurant. That said, breakfast was served in the restaurant and it was excellent. We made our way to the Ancient Mariner pub which is reached through the galley restaurant and is part of the hotel although separate (if that makes sense!) and enjoyed the evening playing Scrabble next to a huge woodburner. Nice atmosphere, delicious wine included in our offer and we ate off the pub menu as the hotel restaurant was closed.... despite being open for breakfast the next day. The whole experience was pretty bizarre - it was essentially a pub with bedrooms next door rather than a hotel. We decided to leave the next day and explained our issues - the staff were very apologetic and authorised a 50% refund which we appreciated. Hotel bookings for Christmas and New Year are very good apparently so I would hope that all the hotel's facilities are available to guests. I don't know if I would recommend the Bath Hotel as it was such a mish mash and really odd... that said it had some excellent points such as the food and staff.... a conundrum indeed!
