A quirky pub-cum-hotel in the lovely village of Lynmouth, at the the bottom of the cliff on which sits Lynton. We were very lucky in picking the week after the parking charges ended but before the mountain railway shut; that is by far the most comfortable way to get up to Lynton, which has very good shops and places for coffee. The Bath hotel is very relaxed, and the staff are all lovely. We had one of the named premium rooms, which was fine and with a good sea view, but a little smaller than I would have expected for the price. Bathroom was excellent - well lit and spotlessly clean. The weather was terrible while we were there (3 nights) but the bar is a pleasant place to while away the afternoon with a real ale or cider for company, especially after a good walk up the valley. The food is variable - the starters excellent, the mains which I had (both beef) a bit overcooked. The roast potatoes on Sunday were brilliant. We would come back to Lynmouth and certainly stay at the Bath - next time I will upgrade to a suite for the included parking! Thank you for a relaxing break despite the rain.
