Google
Great location and view! I found the food just fine, but the service and location was outstanding being right on the water and receiving very complementary service. The cappuccino was well done, but the avocado for the avocado toast tasted a bit packaged. Overall good experience though for a touristy area. The donut was one of the better pastries I’ve had in a long time. They mixed jam with a house whip cream and stuffed it in a cinnamon sugar donut. It was light and so good without being too sweet.

Google
The Bathhouse impresses not only with its unique location right by the water but also with its exceptional service and outstanding food. Every dish was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The attention to detail and the balance of flavors in each course truly elevated the dining experience. The friendly and attentive staff made sure everything was seamless, adding to the overall charm of the place. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines stunning views, top-notch service, and culinary excellence so effortlessly. Every bite brought a smile to our faces – highly recommended!

Google
Purchased kale salad and 2 seafood chowders. Not quite a 4 or 5 star as the foods a bit basic to what we're used to. Was our quick breaky before skiing. My salad was kale, dressing, cheese and bread bits (croutons). The chowder is broth not stewed. Looks good though doesn't it!

Google
It's a nice spot to grab a coffee, though the brew is a bit on the weak side. The atmosphere is great, and the views are fantastic, but there's room for improvement in the service. If you only order coffee, you'll be repeatedly encouraged to add food to your order. In my experience, I prefer to stick with my mild coffee.☕️

Google
SUPER delicious food, AMAZING view, and AWESOME service! Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely fantastic. The staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. The breathtaking lakefront setting elevated the entire experience, turning it into an unforgettable dining moment. Without a doubt, The Bathhouse is the ONLY restaurant in Queenstown that has left such a lasting impression on me—I’ll definitely coming back!

Google
This place is awesome! The view is great and it’s close to the center. You can chill out here after shopping or shelter when it’s raining. I ordered Sunday Roast Roll, which is sooooo great! There is roasted pig and potatoes inside, and the sauce was authentic and so delicious. I recommend it to anyone who comes here.

Google
One of the prettiest places to sit and have breakfast. Loved it here. The food was good - it took the drinks longer than the food to come but the waitress let us know that would be the case so was good to get a heads up.

Yelp
This quaint little spot on the edge of the lake was a perfect spot for breakfast! We had the egg sandwich and the eggs and bacon Benedict.

Yelp
Nice cafe on the shore of the lake next to the Gardens. Service for coffee and wine was great, and prices reasonable for a touristy location. Also, very good for people watching!

Yelp
What a great oasis and place to just sit and chill...literally. we were outside and a little cool...but they gave us a blanket. The food was great. I had the mince with poached eggs and my Wife had the chicken sandwich. The coffee - best we've had in Queenstown. We even ordered a second coffee each to go. Oh, and the view isn't bad.

Yelp
An amazing location with a view of the water. Such a friendly staff and explanation of the name of the place. We enjoyed our experience despite the quality of the food.

Yelp
What a view!! It's right on the beach but unfortunately the day we visited, it was really cold and windy, so we ended up sitting inside. We were part of a large group and I ordered the burger (didn't come with any fries though) and it was delicious, the best I tasted in NZD (better than Fergburger, for sure). The only reason I gave it a 4 star, is because, I thought the waitress was not very friendly.

Yelp
I'd heard about this place and was expecting a very different looking building. It's a charming old wooden building literally on the beach. I called beforehand and reserved a table for 4 people outside and I was very glad I did because the weather was amazing and the outside area was full. The staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. The location is the best thing about the first closely followed by the staff and excellent food. If you're going to visit and the weather is good then book early! Thoroughly recommended.

Yelp
Stopped by here shortly after arriving at Queenstown, based on some recommendations. No doubt that what attracts people to this place the most is the view, which is beautiful either way but is simply stunning on a clear day. We walked in and sat down at a table not long before lunch was supposed to be over. We got water and menus rather quickly. I wanted something light so went with the Roast Beetroot & Halloumi (candies beets, Ferry road halloumi, Orange, pomegranate, spiced seeds). It was light yet filling and absolutely delicious. The fiancé went with the seafood chowder (Blue Cod, green lipped mussels and prawns) and liked it. The food arrived quickly and the service in general was pretty efficient. Come for the view but stay for the food.

Yelp
Lunch with a stunning view? Yes please! The Bathhouse is a small restaurant that overlooks Lake Wakatipu. If you're able to grab a table outside you should! It can get super windy outside, if so, maybe skip ordering a salad unless you want your food to fly out to the lake. We enjoyed a couple of lattes and ordered the pork belly and the scallops for lunch. The food was truly cooked to perfection! I mean it when I say this was some of the best pork belly that I've had in awhile. The slaw and mashed potatoes served with the pork belly were so flavorful ! I could order this meal again and again. My husband enjoyed his meal and I stole a few bites from him and liked it as well. The Bathhouse was a nice change from all of the bland food that we had during our visit to New Zealand. Service was attentive and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. If you're in Queenstown I highly recommend that you check this place out!

Yelp
Great food, excellent cheese plate, fair drink prices. But that's all just a bonus. The meat and potatoes on this place is that the deck is sandwiched between the lake beach and a kids playground. We sat back and enjoyed a bottle of champagne While our kids checked on periodically from their play. Never out of sight, this was a fantastic break for all!

Yelp
Nice quirky restaurant! Stopped for coffee and snacks. Lovely quirky building with outside tables. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee, drinks and snacks tasty and just what we needed after a morning of cycling.

Yelp
Excellent food, small perfect menu expertly executed. Had most of the items in the menu- all were perfect: texture, color, flavor and presentation

Yelp
This place has what surely must be one of the best views from a restaurant in Queenstown. It's right on the water with stunning views over the lake and mountains. Grab an outside table if the weather permits. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to try their food, but I was impressed by their generously sized and well made iced coffees.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Queenstown! Service was amazing as well. It's a historical icon which I'd highly recommend.

Yelp
The boathouse is a beautiful old building and when you step inside its like you've arrived at your favorite aunts house for a delicious dinner. The fire place in the corner keeps the place warm and the view of the lake and the town just keeps you staring. We had the lamb rack and the steak and both were cooked to perfection. In fact my boyfriend stated he would not eat another steak in queenstown because it doesn't get any better. Definitely recommend everyone to eat here.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, hot chocolate and scones! And the view is 5 stars too. Would definitely be back!

Yelp
Our group had the chowder, pie of the day, and eggs Benedict. Chowder is a must try and the other two were very good. For dessert, the cupcakes and carrot cake are amazing. Also, there's a park next door where the kids can play and if you eat outside you can see them while they play.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast with a lovely view of the lake. Great location. The food was really great too! High quality without the formal atmosphere. Great service. Enjoyed the outdoor seating on the shore.

Yelp
Wow. Probably one of the best meals we have had in a long time, augmented by spectacular views of the lake and delightful ambience. Service excellent and almost invisible. Deserves its 5 star ratibg

Anna H.

Yelp
Very unassuming restaurant, but delightful staff and food! Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend the seafood chowder and boathouse salad as starters. Our table also had the salmon (fish of the day), beef, lamb and scallops, and all were delicious! Cheers!

Yelp
Had a great solo lunch here on a rainy and cold day. Terrific mellow vibe, great old building, cozy fireplace, delicious chowder, view of the lake and friendly staff. Could not be more of a fan! Take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens afterwards.

Yelp
The lunch menu at this place is quite good -- the duck steamed buns and sake cured salmon are excellent. Would come back for the food. There's a nice view of the lakefront. The service was very friendly but a little disorganized. We asked for a table outside and after watching the servers check the tables and not know which ones were reserved, we sat at an inside table. 5 minutes later a couple came in and promptly got an outside table. They got our table number mixed up while serving the desserts. Ordered a flat white to go and it took quite a while to make. Overall it wasn't quite as good as I was expecting based on prior Yelp reviews but it's a pretty solid place to eat with a nice view of the lake.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic family lunch. Great menu, beautifully executed. Excellent service and a nice view of the lake. Couldn't be better!

Yelp
Had a delicious tapas meal here overlooking the water as the sun sink behind the mountain. We had the portobello stacks, shrimp and chorizo, and bread and dips/spreads. The only strange thing about this cute little historic building is the entrance is a little awkward - not one of the two obvious doors, but the side one right in front of a table. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
So beautiful we had to leave. The colors change every second at sunset... Too much to comprehend in the best way possible.

Yelp
We were recommended to visit this place by our Bed & Breakfast owner. The resto has a gorgeous location : right by the lake.. The decor was unpretentious : down to earth yet classy.. I had seafood chowder (one of the best seafood chowder i had) and my partner had pasta of the day which was also very good. The New Zealand chowder somehow is rather different from American one, the one I am more used to. It is yellowish and has some special taste. But the chowder here was super delicious. The seafood was super fresh... The price is probably rather steep for a chowder but it worths every cent!! It is definitely a resto to visit when you come to Wakatipu / Queenstown town center...

Yelp
Little gem of a place. Great breakfast, historic place, and stunning view. The only negative is that it was chilly (winter), but if we had sat by the fireplace that would have been corrected.
