We went as a family of 5 to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. |As always the food was delicious. Everything on the plate tastes different unlike in most places where everything tastes the same. Every time we eat there the food is consistently tasty. |There is a good choice for meat eaters and vegetarian and lovely touches like freshly baked bread rolls that are brought before the meal.

We had a room at the back and it was horrible. There's no getting around it. Small, dark and smelling very strongly of damp. The twin beds were touching. The carpet was very stained. Everything was tired and dated. The bathroom floor so cold it was unpleasant to go in there. Maybe if you get a sea view room it's nice - they looked ok from the outside, but if you are on more of a budget (we still paid £90 per night for the room) I would recommend looking elsewhere. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good but not with £15 a head and that was after a discount.

Had an evening meal in the conservatory of the Bay Horse hotel. We had lunched there successfully on previous occasions. Great views across Morcambe Bay as a backdrop, especially when the tide is running. On this occasion we booked in for dinner as casual guests - which was probably an error - the service certainly favoured the residents. An unexpected warm quality roll was a treat, followed by excellent fish starters. Then came the long wait for a main course. Eventually a very good chicken course arrived. Unfortunately the quality of the lamb shank was not as high (an over large portion that was overcooked) . Casual service added nothing to the occasion.

I love visiting the Bay Horse, it's a lovely treat. The building has an interesting history that is well documented on the walls. In winter there's a welcoming, inviting open fire that's cosy and warm. The view from the restaurant in the conservatory across the estuary are beautiful. In summer it's nice to sit outside watching the sun set and watching the stars, very romantic. A great choice of beers and ales. The food menus have a great choice of food at a good price and portions are generous, food is presented professionally. All times I have visited the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. I recommend the Bay Horse Hotel to all my family and friends and colleagues as its a lovely place. The views are lovely and the walk along the canal and the beaches is very enjoyable.

We live locally and have been twice with in the last month I had the steak medallions both times and were great and very good value I also had the meringue which was like a work of art on the plate wish I had taken a photo I would definitely recommend the staff were very friendly looking forward to our next visit.

Four of us + dog. Fabulous meals, linen napkins, whole nine yards. I had filet steak medallions. Melted in my mouth. Best meal EVER. Well worth the money.

A great place to relax, read about the history of the pub, enjoy a pint and a plateful of their amazing chunky chips.

Recent visit for 2 night stay in the Lapwing Room. Staff very friendly. Food delicious. Room was dreadful. Not dirty but musky damp smell. We complained on several occasions and was told we have sprayed the room with air freshener. We couldn’t move room as it was fully booked. We couldn’t leave because we were sharing car with friends. We stayed out of the room as much as we could and ended up sleeping in a chair in the conservatory. We refused to pay for the room and was told if we didn’t police would be called. Manager then admitted there was a drain blocked but said it wasn’t bad. Yet our friends admitted we couldn’t sleep in that room with that smell. So avoid the Lapwing Room if staying. Manager was very offhand we won’t be revisiting here!
