Dope burritos. I love the shrimp!

The Beach House

Barnaby T.

Google
I got three tacos, a hotdog, and a pina colada slushy. Absolutely one of the best flavors of slushys for a reason. The chicken was the plainest taco and the fried fish was my personal favorite. Very crunchy outer shell and soft fish that was very fresh tasting. The workers were very nice and helpful I had a great experience

Google
Lost That Loving Feeling used to come here all the time it was delicious... the carne asada was subpar in the past it had flavor and was grilled to perfection. I highly do not recommend this place if you're looking for carne asada tacos go to Tucson. Overall I feel like the tacos were flavorless Grizzly undercooked and very moist .

Google
First time visiting during a Veteran's Parade. The vibe was definitely nice and the food was great. I will say, three taco aren't enough. Quick service and the staff was friendly. Besides hearing the pigeons walk around the roof, they had good seating options.

Google
We had a good meal here. We both got 2 street tacos each and a refreshing slush drink (she, cherry, myself raspberry). They had the misters on in the back sheltered area - barely did the trick, but did do the trick so we were much more grateful). Fish and shrimp ones I had were great, with the green salsa (because, obviously!!). Fast service, friendly vibe, would recommend and will be back!

I lived in the same house for 28 years down the street from here. For the first time about a month and a half ago just out of curiosity my wife and I went here. This place exceeded my expectations by a mile. The food here is amazing. When I went here it didn't feel like I was in Phoenix anymore. Felt like I was literally on the beach here. I love all the different designs with stickers, license plates, it's a very cool vibe here. Tonight was our 4th time going and was never disappointed. Best shrimp tacos I've ever had. All 4 visits I always make sure to get 2 mango shrimp because those suckers are tasty. Slushies are very tasty as well and you don't get a bunch of ice at the bottom when all the flavor is gone. Beach House is my new favorite spot when I'm in the mood for some great food. Also don't miss out on those brownies. They are a must!🔥🔥🔥

Google
Tacos were awesome here and they had lots of different options. We had the cactus and chicken tacos and both were excellent. Guacamole was good and slushies were very flavorful. Highly recommend you give it a try! They only have outdoor seating and it’s not cash only, they do accept credit cards. But there is a discount if you use cash.

Google
Stopped by The Beach House off Camelback and Central in Uptown Phoenix and had a great first visit. I ordered the fried fish taco and the carne asada bowl. The fish taco was lightly breaded with a nice crunch, served on a small tortilla packed with cabbage and sauce super flavorful and satisfying. The carne asada bowl came loaded with rice, a generous portion of tender carne asada, and all the toppings. The vibe here is laid back with all outdoor seating, perfect for a casual lunch in the sun. If you’re looking for solid tacos and bowls in a relaxed spot, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.

Google
The Beach House may not have ocean views, but the food totally gives vacation vibes. Everything we tried, from the fish tacos to the carne asada burrito and fish bowl, was fresh, flavorful, and affordable. The service was super fast even with long lines, making this place a definite must-try.

Yelp
I just got back from California yesterday for a quick trip where I had some delicious So Cal taco shop food that I enjoyed. This fun CA inspired beach shack was something I would expect to see at the beach, but there it is on my way to Arcadia :) This spot was solid. $2.50 for a taco, yes please. I happened to place my order online and then went to pick it up. This was my first time trying this restaurant and it was great that I pre-ordered. It was pretty busy when I arrived at 1pm on a Saturday. The prices are great, I had a fish taco, cheese & veggie quesadilla, and a bean & cheese burrito for $15 something. The food was good. I like how it's very casual and unassuming. I took no issue with the items I tried, and I really liked the green and volcano salsa. Good flavor! Next time I'm in the area I would definitely come back and try other items. They have outdoor seating so this is a nice weather spot. If there's any other seating I didn't see it.

Yelp
If I could give this a million stars I would. We met Gio at the window he got us all taken care of food wise, made SURE we had an amazing lemonade flavor picked out and got us so right! He had such a good energy and I was so excited before the food even came out. Food came out, they went the extra mile of splitting my husband and my burritos so we could share and try each others AND they even labeled it for us! Came out super quick , and was so so so good. The place was cute, love the tables and the seating outside! The gal that handed us out food was so sweet, and the gentlemen that cleaned up after us was super sweet as well. I will be back not only because it's good but for the service! Thank you guys!

Yelp
The Beach House doesn't have ocean views, but it does have food that tastes like a vacation! Prices won't break the bank. we ordered Fish Tacos (Fried to perfection) Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Carne Asada Burrito was surprisingly balanced with every bite. The Fish Bowl was flavorful, fresh, and light enough to pretend I was making healthy choices.nThe service is lightning fast - and considering how long the lines can get, the staff handles it all like seasoned pros. Bottom line - Delicious food. Affordable prices. Speedy service. Total must-try.

Yelp
Always drive by this place but first time trying! Super fun vibe, made me feel like we were by the beach. All outdoor seating which is great on cool days, I imagine less great in the summer. Super long wait for lunch on a Saturday. Burritos were stuffed and well wrapped and so tasty! Sauces and salsas were a highlight. Nachos and frozen lemonade drinks were delish as well.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
This is one of the best taco places I've been to in the country. Amazing tacos. Wonderful flavor, especially the mango shrimp tacos. There's a nice blend of juicy fruity flavor with the deep seafood taste all topped with a fresh pico de gallo. And then all their options are well-priced, especially in a world where now $5 tacos are the norm.
google avatar

Teena M.

Yelp
So my husband has been wanting to try this place for over 3 years and we finally made it today! This little taco spot is all the rage. The locals visit here and the lines are long. My husband had the grilled fish burrito. The fish was delish, the beans were fire, and loved the slaw guacamole and hot sauce. I tried loaded nachos with green chili shredded beef. The beef had great flavor and the ooey gooey nacho cheese sauce was good. I will definitely get tacos or a burrito next time as I caught myself drooling over my husband's burrito and the people next to us tacos. We sat outside as that's the only downside in the summer- no indoor seating. The misters were helpful to keeping us cool as was the watermelon green apple slushy known as trick or treat slushy. Please try this place when you are in the area. It really is worth the time

Yelp
My daughter and I were in central Phoenix and craving tacos. We happened to be driving by and saw The Beach House. We made a quick stop. What a cute, funky place. It reminds me of a California beach shack, a mixture of hippie meats surfer. I Loved the 1960's Volkswagen out front. You order at the counter and then eat at picnic tables on the patio. We ordered the Baja tacos, I got the 3 shrimp tacos and my daughter got the 3 fish tacos. We also ordered chips and guacamole. 3 tacos are $7, great deal! Food came out fast and tacos were delicious!!! Next time we would try the fish tacos grilled instead of fried. Also they never asked if we wanted flour or corn tortillas, maybe I was supposed to specify? Either way they were great! Their motto is "Come Hungry, Leave Happy," and we sure did!
google avatar

Nayla G.

Yelp
the food was really good! Line was long so knew it had to be special. Food was cooked to order and brought out to a timely manner. Love the array of sauces
google avatar

Bree P.

Yelp
This spot is a Phoenix classic! Cheap eats that are delicious and come out fast. I got a grilled fish and grilled cactus on corn tortillas. The food always tastes fresh which is impressive for such a cheap price point. I always get fish taco and veggie taco. The cactus is a unique flavor and texture that I haven't been able to find at another taco shop. They also offer student discounts and daily specials. The blended drinks are so refreshing on a hot day - definitely will be back once the heat hits. The food comes out insanely fast despite there always being a line. There is only outdoor seating which I don't mind since it's always summer haha. Such a great spot for quick food and fun atmosphere!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Two Hippies or "Beach House" for a while. I'm very satisfied with my experience. I got the surf and turf burrito and it was delicious, fresh and flavorful. I love how the burritos are seared on the outside to help all the contents stay in better. I also love beans so was happy that they were in the burrito. Service was good and everyone was kind. It's on a busy street but was good for a quick stop-in.
google avatar

Meghan Z.

Yelp
Awesome food awesome customer service and super cute vibe. The shrimp and chipotle sauce were spectacular. They also have a bunch of lemonade/ slushie flavors. Our food came out surprisingly fast. That were also awesome about making accommodations to my burrito. Such a cute vibe where you order at the counter of a can made into the restaurant. Picnic style tables. Great little sport to grab a bite to eat!
google avatar

Melissa K.

Yelp
This spot is a takeout staple in the central Phoenix area. I always get the shrimp burrito and am never disappointed. I'm sure the rest of their food is great as well. I've also tried the red beef which was delectable. Service is quick and friendly. Love that you can order online and pick up to avoid the rush. Ambiance is all outdoors and super casual. Thanks for being great!
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. You order at a counter and then grab a seat outside. I visited on a Friday afternoon and the food came out very quickly and there were plenty of places to sit, but I didn't come during prime lunch time. I got a grilled fish taco, a fried fish taco, and a shrimp taco. The menu says that fish and shrimp tacos come with pico de gallo, cabbage, chipotle mayo, and feta cheese BUT apparently the grilled fish tacos do not come that way because mine came with the normal toppings of rice, beans, pico, cabbage, and cheese. I don't like beans so I was caught off guard. Very confusing. The shrimp taco was so good I actually ordered a second one. Since it's outdoor seating only I would only go on a nice day, but I would definitely go back or recommend.

Yelp
I have to fight myself to not drop by here every time I hit the gym next door. For a very land-locked state, some of the best fish tacos I've had. I also loved the loaded chicken quesadilla. If you are a hot-head like me, make sure to try their diablo fire sauce while they have it. For someone who LOVES spicy salsa this one was actually pushing my comfort zone. The people there also KNOW their inspiration for good food, we talked taco shops in phoenix (shout out to Dayeli's and Rolando's) and general they all seem like chill people. For how busy it was (about 7-8 people in line at lunch) I was able to get my food fairly quickly. generous portions and good pricing (A huge loaded chicken quesadilla with an extra large side salsa for under 10 bucks!) Good stuff all around.
google avatar

Payton

Yelp
such a chill spot. Super fast service! Don't sleep on the fried fish or the shrimp tacos !
google avatar

Hallie S.

Yelp
We had dinner at The Beach House last night and the vibes were immaculate. It's an outdoor restaurant with a covered patio so I recommend going at night or when it starts to cool down more. There are plenty of large tables if you have a bigger group which would be fun. We got the surf and turf burrito and added guacamole which was really good. They're pretty big and I was so full after. We also shared an orange creamsicle slushee which was so refreshing and sweet - I loved it. The prices were fabulous as our burritos were around $9.50 before adding guac. If the food wasn't enough, the decor here is adorable. I love the beachy vibes which reminded me of my home state - California. There are so many fun photo opps here. Highly recommend bringing out of towners here.

Yelp
The best tacos! Love this cute little local spot! I wish there was one in the East valley so I didn't have to drive so far! Their green chili beef is so amazing! I love their burritos. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any item. Always get a slushy! Mostly cause they're cheap and great on any Arizona day

Yelp
Ordered online for pickup to take back and eat at our Vrbo house. A cool mashup of a restaurant. The core kitchen looked to be housed in maybe an old garage or just a plain small brick structure that didn't have windows; who knows. They've piecemealed the rest, giving a Cali beach hut meets food shack vibes kinda getup. There's picnic table seating, so "indoor" seating - basically covered shelter with makeshift walls. Who are we kidding folks, PHX doesn't really need contained restaurant seating, as it usually doesn't get "Midwest America cold." Love the bright, bold colors and signs and stickers paraphernalia. As always, the classic VW Bugs get me every time. We got a few different types of tacos to try. The mango shrimp tacos have heat; like, pretty heavy heat, so beware. Didn't see any mango chunks, assuming that that flavor profile comes via the lite pinkish colored sauce. The grilled fish tacos were delish. Not hot, basic flavor profile (in a great way) and tasty. This local eatery seemed to be pretty happening for a Monday evening. I'm sure it pulls in a great crowd for GCU and ASU students; their location is pretty smack in the middle of Phoenix too, so I'm sure they get the local suburbia traffic and white and blue collar working classes, too. Next time visiting my niece, I'm sure I'll hit up this taco shop again. There's other things on the menu that caught my eye, and the price:quality:quantity ratios are good.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I want to love this place, but it's just ok. The tacos are greasy and don't have a ton of flavor. I do like that I can order online and that the food is quick. There's very limited seating so I have picked up my tacos/ burritos. Maybe they would be better if I ate them there. I find myself going to other taco places in the area before I go here
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Cool concept. Give 3.5 stars. We came on a chilly night so was a bit cold to sit outside. They need to get a liquor license. Ordered a couple different tacos, wasn't impressed with my fried fish one, wasn't hot out the fryer. They mainly just chuck a bunch of toppings all over. They were average tacos at best, was expecting more flavour.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
**This review is for the fried fish tacos only** I've been so excited to try this based on raving reviews and since there's always a long line when we pass by! We decided to do to a pickup order for our fried fish tacos. Got home and we were extremely disappointed. The slaw and green salsa were good, but the fish itself was 95% batter. I even dissected the batter to try to find the fish. The texture of the whole fried fish was similar to funnel cake texture. That's nice that they're so cheap (3 for $7), but if you actually want fried fish, I'd suggest not getting them here. I ate one and was done. I'm willing to go back and try something else, but I would never get fried fish tacos here again and 10/10 do not recommend.
google avatar

Elisabeth K.

Yelp
They forgot the slush in my slushy no but fr this is actually pissing me off because why would he hand me this without saying anything. At least an apology perhaps? Let me know the machine was broken or something? Offer to put it on ice instead? Idk. Still 4 stars tho cuz I love this place
google avatar

Vanessa H.

Yelp
Still one of my absolute favorite places! I take everyone here and always recommend it. Beach House is a fast-casual, tiny spot with only outdoor seating. Look for the blue VW! They have fans and misters available to keep it cool during the summer. Service is always pretty fast. I have tried a pretty good portion of their menu at this point, but some of my favorites are: green chili beef burrito, red chili beef loaded quesadilla and carne asada rice bowl with sweet chili. My daughter loves their carne asada, pork and chicken. My partner is obsessed with the pork burrito and also loves their fish tacos and shrimp tacos. As someone who normally doesn't like fish or shrimp tacos, I also enjoy the ones made here! Honestly, you really can't go wrong with any of the food here! In addition to their excellent food, you can also get a frozen lemonade with basically any flavor you could think of. Prices are so reasonable here too. Food comes out pretty quickly. Make sure to get some red or green salsa too! You will not be disappointed when you visit. It's also always SO nice to support awesome local small businesses!
google avatar

Grace D.

Yelp
If you're looking for beachy, Cali-style tacos, this is the best value spot in town. Service is friendly and fast, and the portions for the price and quality are unbeatable. I find the 2 for $5 tacos to be a filling meal, since the size is a little bigger than your classic Mexican street taco. My go to is the nopales, but their specials are always great. They don't have any indoor seating, but the shaded picnic tables with misters are pretty bearable for anything about 100 degrees and under, in my experience. It helps that they have cheap frozen slushies in just about any flavor you could think of. They also have a cute hippie vibe, with a classic VW bus and other fun, funky decor.
google avatar

Ceila A.

Yelp
It was good socal food. Not mexican. But still good. The downfall is you eat outside- they have misters but that only helps a little in this Arizona heat. The person taking our order was really nice
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
The best little spot for a quick and filling meal! Pricing is great and the quality of food and quantity of it is 10/10! I love getting their fried fish tacos and carne asada quesadillas! So fresh and filling for the price. The only thing I would caution against is during the summer months, doing takeout because there isn't any indoor seating. Parking is also limited so make sure you either place for carry out or have a plan to drop off a friend and then circle the block to pick them and your food up. Service is always friendly and the atmosphere is very San Diego beach vibes

Sandra S.

Yelp
Steak meat was chewy. Slaw was dry. And small amount of Pico. My shredded beef taco had one scoop of meat. Very disappointing. Watermelon drink was good.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
I was CRAVING some fish tacos, so thankfully Yelp helped me to find The Beach House! I'd driven by here several times and never knew why there was always a line! Put it together after the first bite! DELICIOUS! The staff was super nice and the food came out quickly! I will be back because I love fish and this is the closest thing to my favorite spot in California called Baja Cali! My little ordered shrimp quesadilla and she loved her food as well! I ordered grilled and fried fish tacos and I equally love them both! To the nice lady who conversed with me when I gave her a compliment about her white overalls, "Thank you for your hospitality and smile".
google avatar

Yelp
Talk about an amaZing check mark on my foodie adventure list!!! I have driven by the Beach House many times and thought I HAVE TO GO THERE, but never made it there!!!! BUUUUUUUUUT today was the day i FINALLY GOT TO TRY BEACH HOUSE!!! It went above and beyond all my expectations!!! This place has drool worthy tacos that was worth EVERY CALORIE!!!! I got three tacos for $7 and let me tell you it was delicious with a capital DELISH!!! I don't even like fish and fried fish taco was the star of my show!!! Coming in second was the carne asada taco and i was too full to try my chicken taco so i took it home for tomorrow! My niece who has allergies to protein got the cactus tacos and was blown away by the delicious , savory flavor of them!!! I washed everything down with a frozen peach watermelon frozen lemonade which is just one of their many flavors to choose from!!! The atmosphere was casual and fun with some major San Diego vibes! It is outdoors but despite the AZ weather, the misters and shades keep everything nice to eat at despite the weather. Shout out to John the owner for having such a great place to eat! Keep up the deliciousness in flavor, prices and service!!! http://www.classicmarymoments.com/2025/05/beach-house-taco-review.html?m=1

Yelp
The food here was great. Lots of vegetarian options, which I appreciate. I got the quesadilla with Cactus as the filling and a bean and cheese burrito- both satisfactory. The outside was really cute too- definitely giving beach food shack vibes. Don't expect anything fancy from here, but I'd call it a top notch lunch spot. The staff was friendly- if busy. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Molly W.

Yelp
Beach House is a midtown staple. It's all outdoor seating, but the perfect spot for a casual outdoor meal when the weather is nice. The fried fish tacos are my go to order. Also recommend the coconut lemonade slushy on a hot day. The prices are unmatched, and although it's nothing fancy, the food consistently delivers. You'll almost always encounter a line to order (popular spot) so be prepared to wait or take advantage of their online order option. Once you place your order the food will come out fast.
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
The vibes are really good and they have cool decorations and misters to keep you cool. Staff was very friendly and brought our food out really fast, which was really good and well priced. Would come again!
google avatar

Mae R.

Yelp
I really liked the vibe here! There were stickers everywhere. It definitely gave California beach vibes. I got the jerk chicken burrito, my kids got the bean and cheese burrito with chicken. My husband got the chipotle shrimp burrito. Let me tell you! All of them were amazing!!! We only spent 40 dollars! That was the best move we made since we been on vacation! Everywhere else was expensive for a family of five to eat! The service was good as well. Our food came right out. The salsa's were delicious! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kamron A.

Yelp
Awesome little place in Phoenix! Funky joint and eclectic for sure! Small menu but everything is bomb! The fried fish tacos, grilled fish and grilled shrimp tacos are absolutely fantastic! Plus the slushy options are amazing! Great prices and food! And you know it's good when the line is 50+ people deep on a 100 degree night!

Sherri D.

Yelp
Best ever fish/shrimp tacos and burritos! The service is awesome, food is beyond great (and we're from so cal), and I love the atmosphere! This will be a frequent stop every time we come to Phoenix!

Mike P.

Yelp
Outstanding. Just go there. Chill environment , tacos and beans were perfect, polite staff, wonderful shlush. $10 lunch and full.
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
Food order was Loaded Nachos with Carne Asada and King of the Ocean Burrito. Food was served wicked fast despite there being a lot of people. Seating was only outdoors but had great misters so it felt pretty nice. This is very much a relaxed, comfortable, and loud ish ambiance but still fun. Food menus was reasonably priced for the portion sizing. The drinks were pretty good we got two frozen lemonades. Gave it a four because the food tasted pretty average and the Nachos could have used more meat. There was also no extra napkins around and they only gave us one for the nachos instead of both meals. Will I come back? Possibly but not something I would crave.
google avatar

Katie Y.

Yelp
We were able to walk here across the street from our Airbnb and it was worth it. We walked up and saw the line and knew it would be good. We tried the chicken quesadilla, fried fish taco, pork taco, red chile beef taco, cherry limeade and chips and guac. Everything was excellent except the fish taco. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Anita R.

Yelp
Not worth all the hype. I've driven pass this location multiple times and witness lengthy lines during lunch hour and thought I would give it a try. I ordered a burrito and a brownie. Service was quick, burrito was stuffed, but not evenly spread out, between mouthful of beans and a random piece of meat and then another mouthful of cheese, it could've been put together better. For $10 for an overpriced burrito. I was underwhelmed at the lack of flavor and overwhelmed with more beans than meat and cheese. Tortilla itself was undercooked with grill marks on two sides where it had been smashed. Save your money and go elsewhere is my best advice. It just was not worth all the hype. The brownie was premade and wrapped, it was good. Would I recommend this place to anyone? Only if you're starting to death and every place else that offers a better burrito is closed. And no, I will not be back.

Troy G.

Yelp
It is a little dive, but absolutely GREAT food and non-alcoholic drinks. We found it by accident while visiting from Houston, TX, and we ate there several times!
google avatar

Ally R.

Yelp
"Home of the fish taco" they really do make the best shrimp and fish tacos. I think it's priced fairly, the restaurant has cute decor and colorful tables on both sides with cover. Staff is super friendly and patient. I forgot how big the burritos are, I also had a taco and chips, I had to take the remaining burrito to go! First time ordering the chips and guacamole today they tasted fresh, I would get these Everytime going forward. This place gets super busy so highly recommend ordering in advance if you can, but if not then the wait isn't very long.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
I've lived in Phoenix my entire life and driven passed here a million times, but never stopped and turns out I've been missing out this entire time. We went tonight and there was a long line, but that's a good sign for good food, it didn't take too long to get our order though. We ended up ordering a few different things to try and it all was so delicious! Place overall is super cool and makes you feel like you're really on the beach, I can't imagine how packed it gets when the weather changes because it was so busy over 100+ degrees haha.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
Amazing selection and well priced. If the line is too long, get in your car and order it to go and skip about 10 people.
google avatar

Mallory G.

Yelp
I just have two words: Fish. Tacos. SO GOOD. Also the (long, long) line usually moves pretty quick so you know the cashiers know what they're doing and the picnic tables are solid for spring buuut I'd probably take my order to go in the summer.
google avatar

Nick A.

Yelp
Top tier local food! If they have a fish burrito as a special item of the day, get it!
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
The Beach House looks like it was stolen from the coast of LA or Baja Mexico and plunked down into the asphalt baking tray of Phoenix. It's a fun experience and the watermelon slushy was worth standing in the line that happens unless you get here early. Let me throw this out there: the fish tacos are weird. You'd think that Baja style tacos would be the obvious menu item. Nope. The thickly battered tubes of fish are very crispy crunchy. In a jam, you could use them as weapons. The tacos are topped with typical toppings but with a twist of feta cheese. Does it all work as tacos? Yeah, but again, it's delightfully weird.
google avatar

Josue F.

Yelp
Best burritos ever ! Fast service ! I'd recommend ordering online to skip the long lines !
google avatar

Richard F.

Yelp
"WHY HAVE I NOT BEEN HERE SOONER!" Absolutely delicious! Expect: -long lines (customer service was really good) -Decent prices (doesn't break the bank) -exploding flavors (my mouth was having a party! ) -off the wall salsa! Wow THE SALSAS WERE MY FAVORITE PART! (Can't get enough of their salsa) I would come just for their spicy chipotle sauce. I am coming back for sure!!
google avatar

Kaylie

Yelp
I love the shrimp tacos here & they are made to order fresh. I usually grab a flavored frozen lemonade too. Best in the valley can't be beat.
