Ordered online for pickup to take back and eat at our Vrbo house. A cool mashup of a restaurant. The core kitchen looked to be housed in maybe an old garage or just a plain small brick structure that didn't have windows; who knows. They've piecemealed the rest, giving a Cali beach hut meets food shack vibes kinda getup. There's picnic table seating, so "indoor" seating - basically covered shelter with makeshift walls. Who are we kidding folks, PHX doesn't really need contained restaurant seating, as it usually doesn't get "Midwest America cold." Love the bright, bold colors and signs and stickers paraphernalia. As always, the classic VW Bugs get me every time.
We got a few different types of tacos to try. The mango shrimp tacos have heat; like, pretty heavy heat, so beware. Didn't see any mango chunks, assuming that that flavor profile comes via the lite pinkish colored sauce. The grilled fish tacos were delish. Not hot, basic flavor profile (in a great way) and tasty.
This local eatery seemed to be pretty happening for a Monday evening. I'm sure it pulls in a great crowd for GCU and ASU students; their location is pretty smack in the middle of Phoenix too, so I'm sure they get the local suburbia traffic and white and blue collar working classes, too. Next time visiting my niece, I'm sure I'll hit up this taco shop again. There's other things on the menu that caught my eye, and the price:quality:quantity ratios are good.
