The Beach Shack La Cucina + Bar

Beautiful place but very average tasting meals, especially for the price. The lasagna was cold in the middle and piping hot on the edges, indicating it was frozen and then microwaved. Prawn pasta lacked flavour, so salt and pepper were needed and although al dente was attempted for the actual pasta, it was a little undercooked still. Some staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but others were not. For example we asked for the bill and were just given it and then left to our own devices for quite some time before we needed to ask another waiter if they bring the eftpos machine or if we have to go up. Very expensive for average meals

We had the calamari, mari e monti pizza and vongole pasta which were all delicious. We over ordered as that calamari starter was generous but very tasty, so no regrets there but we definitely had to walk it off after all that food for lunch. Server was lovely and attentive also.

We booked here not having any expectations but wow we were so pleasantly surprised. One of the most authentic Italian meals we’ve had in a long time - quality, fresh and delicious! Highly recommended.

Very flavoursome food. Pizzas are perfect. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The lamb cutlets were delicious but if I had to be picky they were a bit dry. No kids menu was a shame.

Lovely spot & the bruschetta was delicious but it unfortunately stopped there. $34 for average gnocchi which was a child's portion at best. Was a disappointing ending to what started as a nice evening.

A plastic sheet was cooked and served with my filet mignon... chefs seem inexperienced if they miss this vital step within the cooking process. We received a 10% discount on our overpriced Christmas lunch for two as an apology.

Very delicious dinner! We had a barramundi main and a pizza to share, which were both perfect and took no time at all. Service was fantastic with lovely and friendly staff, and fun Italian pop soundtracking the night.

Popped in here for dinner. Staff were excellent and were able to accommodate us on a busy night and without a booking. The food was absolutely delicious, service was amazing, atmosphere was great, and the food arrived quickly. Prices were higher than expected, but Port Douglas is a touristy place, so you'll probably pay higher prices no matter where you dine. 1000% recommend this restaurant
