The Beach Waikiki Hostel by ALOH

Loved my stay at the hostel. I met lovely people and the location is perfect - right at the beach. The tours offered are also great and there is free snorkelling gear available. Each dorm has a fridge and bathroom (our toilet didn't always work though). The beds are okay.

I had such a great stay at this hostel! The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from the beach, which made it super easy to catch sunsets or pop down for a swim anytime. What really sets this place apart is how welcoming and social it is. As a solo traveler, it can sometimes be hard to meet people, but not here. The staff organize daily activities, which make it so easy to connect with others. There’s also a group chat that they set up when you check in, where people are constantly making plans and inviting others to join. It made everything feel super friendly and inclusive. The hostel itself is clean, well run, and has a relaxed, laid-back vibe. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, this is a community. I’ll definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my time at this hostel! The rooms were clean and had AC. The service was good but I will say it was a little unsocial as far as hostels go. When the kitchen and rooftop and everything closes at 10 it is fully shut down and quiet. If you like more nightlife this may not be the hostel for you but I really enjoyed it. The location was easy to navigate and plenty to do in the Waikiki area. Be aware you cannot book the tours in cash and they are more like shuttle systems which drop you at a location but it is self guided.

Affordable stay and super accessible to the beach. The hostel has all the basic things and was relatively clean. There could be a bit more maintenance done to replace broken items, for example there was no hooks in the washroom, making it hard to bring stuff in with you. It’s great that the rooms have AC, although the AC can be loud, I was still able to fall asleep. The front desk does not feel the most welcoming at times but the manager was very kind and had great service. I was travelling solo and felt very safe. Would definitely come back to stay again.

We had the greatest time staying at this hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect mix of comfort, cleanliness, and social vibes. We stayed in a semi-private room, which was spotless and even had a small balcony—a really nice bonus! The shared facilities were always clean, with the toilets cleaned daily and bins regularly emptied. Quiet hours were respected, which made for peaceful nights. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the social atmosphere. The hostel organizes great activities throughout the week, and we met so many amazing people because of it. Margarita Night on Monday was a highlight—we met a fantastic group of fellow travelers and ended up spending the rest of the week hanging out with them. We also took part in the North Shore tour, and it couldn’t have been more convenient. The tour guide was awesome, giving us plenty of time at each stop and dropping us off at the best locations, which was something we were initially a bit concerned about. It ended up being stress-free and one of the best parts of our trip. All in all, we didn’t have a single complaint during our stay.

Staying in a hostel was one of the best experiences in my life. I am now forever addicted. Everyone I shared a room with was very respectful of each other not to mention this hostel has many great accommodations. Much more than expected. Seriously this place made my entire trip. I came to Hawaii for the adventure, but it was the people at this hostel that made it unforgettable. The vibe here is something special — chill, open, and full of good energy. I met people who made me laugh, think, and feel seen, even in such a short time. It wasn’t just a place to stay — it felt like a little community. I’ll definitely carry these memories with me. Huge thanks to everyone here for making this experience so meaningful. I will surely be back again next time I fly in. No doubt about it!

The hostel was great! Very well organized, the staff is friendly and helpful. During the tsunami warnings they were providing all the necessary information and made sure everyone was safe. 100%would recommend.

This is an amazing hostel right in the heart of Waikiki. You're seconds from the beach and within easy walking distance to every kind of restaurant you could imagine! I stayed here several nights during conference travel and was impressed by the quality of the rooms (with AC!) as well as the amenities provided by the hostel. The best part for sure was being right around the corner from the beach and surfing (PS - the hostel provides ocean gear you can borrow!). 100% will make this a mainstay if I manage to make it back to O'ahu!

FYI: Renting an entire apartment comprising three bedrooms, one bathroom/shower, the maximum PEEP=Seven to eight PEEPS may stay, i.e., $330 per night! Therefore, if, you group seven to eight friends renting the entire apartment, each person will pay $41.25 per night!!!! One Apartment--Three Bedrooms 1. Queen: 2 2. Bunks: 3 3. King + Single: 3-4? Critical Thinking--- A regular, one-bedroom, hotel room ANYWHERE in Honolulu will cost minimum, $110.00 PER NIGHT to nosebleed, $1000.00 per night, possibly MAY or may not have a kitchen . . . GO FIGURE!!!
