My best friend and I had an incredible dinner here! From the moment we arrived, Kelsey the manager made us feel welcome, and our server Victoria was attentive and professional. Chef Murray’s dishes were beyond Michelin star quality, Chef Santi’s desserts were stunning and delicious, and Bena’s cocktails were fantastic. We were so impressed we asked for everyone’s names, because we wanted to thank the real people behind these masterpieces. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, thanks not only to the setting but also to the smiling, attentive staff. Thank you for giving us the perfect closure to our vacation—it was our last night, and we only wish we had found this place sooner to enjoy more visits. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere! Ate here multiple days and it is $$$ but you get very good quality food with attention to the art of it as well. Highly recommend the salmon and the black forest dessert if it's still available. I don't think you can choose any wrong food item here though. Ample amount of seating space but still best to make reservations as it can get relatively busy.

Absolutely amazing evening for a birthday. Fantastic service and wonderful setting. Food and drinks were delicious. I requested a birthday message for dessert last minute and they outdid themselves. So happy.

Google
What a nice restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, from the Shareable Salmon Platter (highly recommend), to the Bison Flatiron steak (Steak Frites) to the Three Sister Salad! The atmosphere was okay but it was a hotel/resort restaurant. Service was fantastic! Christina was very polite, not overly attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating when we asked to move inside after closing to sit outside. It was very warm that day and we chose poorly when we first opted for outside seating. We're looking forward to trying the wine list on our next visit!

We’ve eaten here before and had a much better experience in the past, but unfortunately this visit left us disappointed. Food: The food was decent, though nothing spectacular. I had the pow wow taco, which was basically a very tomato-heavy chili on an average piece of frybread. The turkey sandwich was decent. The ploughman platter was decent as well. Presentation of the dishes were nice, but overall, the food just didn’t stand out the way it once did. Drinks: This is where things really went off. I ordered the same espresso martini three times, and every single one came out differently. When we questioned it, our server insisted they were made the same—while holding the first drink next to the second, which was clearly a different color. It felt strange that instead of acknowledging the difference, he argued about it. Service & Safety Issues: The bigger concern was the service and how issues were handled. My wife sat in a patio chair that turned out to be broken, with a jagged rusty edge that cut her leg and tore her pants. When we brought it up, the server seemed annoyed and just said he’d “remove the chair from service.” My wife went to the washroom to clean the wound, which was already irritated, and I asked to speak to a manager—mostly because of the dismissive attitude. When the manager arrived, things got no better. She referred to it as “a little scratch” and seemed more annoyed than concerned. She even kept putting her hand on my wife’s arm while talking, which felt awkward. Another manager came out later with a first aid kit, but it was clear he had no real medical training. No one offered a sincere apology, no acknowledgment of the torn clothing or poor service, and after that point, no one checked in again—we had to flag down our server just to get the bill. Final Impression: Yes, they comped the incorrectly made drink, but that was the only gesture made. I’ve been to casual, less expensive restaurants where small mistakes were met with genuine apologies and a comped item—here, at a supposedly high-end place, we received condescension, defensiveness, and a lack of accountability. We had actually been considering having our wedding at the resort this restaurant is part of, but after this experience, we’ve changed our minds. If this is how management handles safety issues and customer concerns, it does not inspire confidence in the rest of the establishment. Quite a shame, because we really wanted to like this place.

Google
We had eaten there back in October for our birthdays and it was really good—the bannock was incredible and we were so happy, but this time, something had changed. Unfortunately, the food was tasteless. Everything lacked salt, and the potatoes were slightly undercooked. As for the service—it wasn’t great. She brought our food and then disappeared. We didn’t see her again until we were done eating and had to go looking for her to get the bill.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner experience last night. Our server Rawad was attentive and kind. Highly recommend the empanadas as an appetizer and the bbq beef ribs. Massive portions and lots of flavour! Highly recommend :)

Google
A lovely spot to enjoy a few drinks and share some dishes. We tried the Ploughman Platter — the flavours were good, but the charcuterie was a bit underwhelming, and for the price, we expected a more elevated cheese selection than just Gouda and goat brie. That said, the view is beautiful, and the service was excellent, which made for an overall enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Only updating my last review to say that this place is still excellent. Cheers to the chef.

Yelp
Their service was excellent and attentive! I came for breakfast and when I asked if they could substitute the rye bread on my avocado toast with their signature bannock, they were able to do that for me without charge. Their drinks were also phenomenal and well flavored. It was a peaceful and calm restaurant in the morning with a variety of dining spaces.

Yelp
Hard name to remember, but they do serve some delicious foods! I split the 'Pork Belly & An Egg In The Belly' with my husband and has the pacific lingcod as my main. Both dishes were very delicious, artfully presented, and very generous portion sizes! I left very satisfied eating just this and a glass of wine. I'm not sure if this is normal, but it was very noisy and loud when I was there because there was a big birthday at the high table in the middle of the restaurant. They were overly obnoxious knocking chairs over and everything. This certainly subtracted from our overall fine dining experience.

Yelp
After reading the great safety reviews, and seeing the quality of ingredients on the menu, we chose to eat here. NO REGRETS! The food was not only carefully prepared with a gluten allergy in mind (menu clearly marked as gluten free), and the server very diligent to check on other questions, but the food was EXCELLENT!! We had the salmon with wild rice and warm kale salad, and my wife had the vegan salad. They also did the Bannick & Spread appy with GF toast as a substitute. This is upscale dining with high quality food, service, and a deck view that does not disappoint! What a gem! Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. We were so lucky to reserve a same day booking at this fine establishment. Nice selection of local wines and a variety of mouth watering dishes on the dinner menu including a few share plates. We ordered the cauliflower bibs & bobs salad, Salish clams, and husk grilled salmon steak. Each dish was lovely in presentation and extremely delicious. For the last course we indulged in having Lost in the Forest, a decadent Black Forest inspired dessert with Okanagan cherries. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
The server and atmosphere were great but the food and prices were horrible for what you get. The bannock was very good, wine was great & beef carpaccio was decent but the pricing was just terrible for mediocre appetizers. We got a shareable platter with bannock and it was tasteless, in dire need of seasoning and it was basically just salsa, dip, hummus & it was very disappointing. We barely ate it and expressed our opinions in a gracious way but they didn't even offer to take it off the bill. Oh well...... So unfortunate considering the location. Another issue was a bunch of women (15) with musical instruments decided to play and sing by the pool, smoking dope.......it just ruined the whole experience. Everything was extremely overpriced. I will not be coming back, ever!

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant, especially in the off season as you can almost have the whole place to yourselves. In late spring through summer it's full of people. We went for breakfast, and even though it was cool, we sat on the outdoor porch. They turned on the fireplace for us, as well as the overhead heaters and we were comfortable. The view was amazing. It's situated on a hill with a beautiful view of the valley below, a vineyard and mountains. Our server was super friendly and told us of more great places to visit while in the Osoyoo area. The food was absolutely delicious. They have a philosophy to use only local and fresh ingredients. As local as they can get. I had the FARM fresh omelette with chorizo and my wife had an egg Benedict. Both were an amazing. Came with great potatoes and fruit. All so good. When in the Osoyoo area, this is a must visit restaurant, attached to a hotel. Then visit the indigenous owned and operated winery next door. Both are unforgettable experiences.

Yelp
We organized a family brunch while at our stay in Osoyoos at The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry It was a party of 12 with three kids The restaurant is located at the picturesque Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos which overlooks the valley and the lake Funny enough we got our bartender, Kenzie, from a wedding reception the night before as our server for our brunch Her service and friendliness was top notch We decided to eat outside The patio overlooks the pool and the valley which you can get some lovely pictures taken. We certainly took advantage of that I ordered a freshly pressed apple juice It was so yummy Almost like an apple cider The restaurant provided complimentary various baked danishes which was certainly nice and tasty We ordered a bannock spread for the table Bannock bread is probably now my favourite bread in the world. The fried crispy of the bread was like eating fried chicken and they give you four dips in a tomato and sumac type salsa dip, a stewed tomato dip, a white bean with sumac dip and finally a corn succotash dip. All four were amazing and definitely recommend this as part of brunch I had the chicken and waffles Delectable and really tasty The cornbread waffles was a really nice add Sweet and savoury My wife and sister-in-law had the banana bread French toast For those who like sweet I'd definitely go with this My father-in-law had the venison burger The burger didn't survive for long on his plate He mentioned that it was very good and not tough at all My brother-in-laws and sister-in-law and my wife's uncle had the bennies My two brother-in-laws had the beetroot salmon Benny where the salmon is soaked in beetroot juice The Benny is served on fried bannock bread They were very good Overall an awesome experience and would definitely recommend this place for brunch while in Osoyoos

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful food, excellent service, beautiful restaurant. Enjoyed the beef ribs for dinner and then a veggie breakfast omelet for brunch the next day.

Yelp
Located in Canada's only desert, Bear, Fish Root and Berry serves modern vineyard cuisine inspired by the Indigenous roots of the Syilx people of the Okanagan Nation.  Their approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and they have taken these stories as the inspiration for the name of the restaurant, which represent the key elements of Indigenous cuisine in the region. If you're planning a trip to the Okanagan/ Osoyoos area, this is a must visit! Be sure to book the patio for beautiful views of the vineyards and lake if weather permits.

Yelp
We spent a whole week at Spirit Ridge. The food is amazing. The veggies are so fresh and portion is big. My absolute favorite is the beef rib. This is the most delicious beef rib I have ever had. The texture is perfect and the meat is so tender and juicy. The BBQ sauce is on the side and not overwhelmingly sweet. The kale is such a surprise since I have never been fond of this vegetable. This time it is cooked so perfectly and very delicious. I almost finished all the veggies as side. The elk steak is also great but got outshined by the beef rib. :) The candied salmon is a lovely surprise. It tastes a little bit like a very tender pork jerky. This chef is top notched and I really enjoy my dinner there.

Yelp
We came here for brunch and the food was great. I expected more aboriginal dishes and was excited to try some, but realized that their dinner menu was a lot more unique. We ordered the fried chicken + waffles and the burger. Their brunch was still delicious, but if i would have know, I would have switched it around for dinner instead. Staff were friendly and asked everyone to keep masks on until you got to the table.

Yelp
Firstly, the food and service are very good, and often great. But the prices here have taken a huge jump, and I'm sad that they may have priced themselves out of our league.

Yelp
Visited for a couples golf weekend. We all had different menu items and all commented on how good it was. Service was excellent. We will go back when we visit again

Yelp
Had lunch here while on vacation in the area Food overall was good. I had the trout Cobb salad which was more like trout with vegetables on the side. My trout was slightly undercooked but I liked the variety of veggies on the plate and overall was happy with the dish. For dessert we tried the s'mores dessert which was really neat - set up to look like a campfire on the plate! Great wine selection here and a very spacious patio. Overall a decent meal but quite expensive for the portions and a little disappointed in the fish. I would come back again to try something new!

Yelp
We were on a girls trip to Osoyoos and stopped in for a pre dinner cocktail and appetizer. The restaurant is stunning and the service was excellent. We had a window seat with a fabulous view. We each ordered a martini, and we shared the ploughman platter. The drinks were delicious, and the platter was the best we'd ever had... all local ingredients that perfectly complemented each other. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll come for dinner.

Giorgiana I.

Yelp
The service is poor and the wait for food is extremely long. Ordered only a chowder, told the server from the beginning I am in a rush and 45 min later tired of waiting I cancelled the order and left. There were only 6 tables full and 5 servers around so no excuse!

Ron B.

Yelp
Went on Valentines Day for a very early dinner as later times were booked. Shocked when we got there that only the lunch menu was available as dinner stars at 5:00. Had we known that we wouldn't have come. However I really enjoyed and can recommend my venison burger. My wife's flat iron steak was so-so, nothing special. However we both loved their frites or large wedge fries. Best we ever had. Dessert, like the meals was plated nicely. We noticed while dining all the other tables were getting prepared for Valentines by putting little hearts and roses on each table. Wouldn't have killed them to have given likewise to lunch dinners too. It was Valentines Day too! Wife would have loved that.

Yelp
Unfortunately we came here on a rainy day, but even so the view from the restaurant is lovely. They have inside and outside seating. Staff are very friendly. Good place to come and eat lunch or dinner. Nice relaxing atmosphere. We came here for lunch and had the ploughman lunch for two which was perfect for a light lunch. Had a great selection of wines.

Yelp
Nice restaurant for wine and dinner. Beautiful location and not far from town. We enjoy it every time.

Yelp
First time coming to this restaurant during our third Osoyoos vacation. We went for brunch on Saturday after the host at the NKMIP restaurant told us they were fully booked. My husband ordered the chicken waffles and I ordered the Sammy Sam. Both of us loved our food and knew that we would want our kids to try their food. As a family, we love good food. Went back on Monday with the kids this time and everyone loved their food and would want to go back when we are in Osoyoos.

P S.

Yelp
The food was really tasty and the presentation was excellent. You are really paying for the view over looking the city and what a view!
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
The food here is great - exciting and delicious - but it's not a great hotel restaurant. We stayed a Spirit Ridge for 9 nights and ate here a couple times. Sometimes ya wanna be adventurous and sometimes ya want something a little more accessible, and they don't really offer the latter here. (Not for dinner anyway). Our 15 year old wanted chicken fingers and fries, which were available on the children's menu, but were instructed that because she was over 12, we would have to pay double (which made them $24 chicken strips). the best hotel restaurants offer something for everyone. This felt a bit like the chef's needs (ego) were more important than ours. Maybe this is more of criticism of a the resort than the restaurant? At the end of the day if you're looking for delicious engaging food made from fresh local ingredients and traditions with an exceptional view ... this is the spot for you... but if you're hoping for a traditional hotel restaurant, without pretence, with something for all palates, you will be disappointed.

Yelp
This location can't be beat, and the food was excellent. Service attentive. Looking forward to going back

Yelp
I came for lunch with my in-laws the other day for a birthday celebration and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was beautifully presented and the wait was short. Our server was top notch and professional and very attentive to our table. Thank you for a positive and fun dining experience:)

April K.

Yelp
Had high hopes for this spot but it really is just a hotel lobby restaurant. The service was slow even though it was not busy at all. The burger was tasty enough. Go to the cellar bistro next door instead.

Ron V.

Yelp
The food and service great, 4 stars. The ambiance of the restaurant not so good, we ate inside and it was like a cafeteria rather then a restaurant.

Diana C.

Yelp
Extremely generous portions of high quality food and an amazing view, only restaurant in Osoyoos with a lake and vineyard view. New menu is much appreciated honouring the foods of the area and the Slyx people.

Ed Z.

Yelp
Had lunch today. Overall atmosphere, service and view were great. Covid protocols were excellent. Two of us ordered the seafood chowder and it was very disappointing. It is a massive portion but tasted fishy in the wrong way and was also overly thickened with flower which you could kind of taste. This isn't the seafood chowder of your dreams made with real cream etc. I've have the bison burger before and it was excellent and will stick to that next time.

Dylan W.

Yelp
We had a reservation for my birthday at 7:15 - taxi never showed so we called and said we would be 5 minutes late and we just drove ourselves. We got there at 7:25 and they sat us at the bar tables at the entrance. We sat there for 10 minutes no menu no drinks. After a server came up and asked us what drinks we wanted we reminded him we didn't have menu's. He grabbed us some menus and we sat there for another 10 minutes without him coming back. I approached a server and asked her what was going on. I asked her if she gave our reservation to someone else and how long we would be waiting. They brought out a manager and she acted rude towards us as though we did something wrong. I was absolutely stunned. We got up and left.

Lisa W.

Yelp
Took too long for drinks and food. We weren't offered a second drink. Food was just ok. Server was nice but service sub par. We had to ask the bus boy for water a few times and the other table of attractive females received blankets and more service. Would not go back to the restaurant.

M D.

Yelp
Awful food and service. The atmosphere inside is spartan and so noise is not absorbed at all. I was impossible to hear our server and ask questions about the menu. We were told that we would be put on a waiting list for the outside patio but, despite multiple tables opening up, we were never moved. I'm having trouble finding a way to describe the food but it was trying to hard to be artsy without focus on flavour and texture. My friend ordered the yam main and it was an inedible mass of kale with a horrid dressing. My other friend ordered a wild rice dish that was essentially just a pile wild rice with some unappealing bits on top. I had the bouillabaisse and it was insipid. In addition, only one appetizer arrived to our table (the one good item that we had...the 'almond cheese thing') and then our server never came back to check on us so we could not let her know that the second had not showed up. When 2 of the 3 mains arrived, the 2nd appetizer arrived without the 3rd main. In addition to the food and service, the professionalism was absurdly bad. We watched the manager and a waitress have an argument in plain view. At another point a server came in from outside and slipped dramatically on a pool of spilled water. Then he didn't clean it up so watch watched anxiously as other harried servers, oblivious to the water, rushed through the doors and through the same spill of water. AHHHHHHH....what an awful meal! I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Kerry R.

Yelp
This was the 4th time my husband and I visited Nk'Mip for lunch. (The main restaurant has changed its name and menu. It used to be called Mica). Everything started out great but quickly went downhill. We shared the bannock and dips as a starter and we both were very pleased. I ordered the "seafood chowder" and was a little taken aback that the kale in the soup was just tossed in raw. Not a pleasant texture for a soup. Also this is not a seafood chowder. It's a fish chowder. No seafood to be found. What I did find was bones in the fish. Again, not a pleasant texture. The root vegetables were potatoes only. I had to stop eating it half way through. Very un-appetizing. We did complain to our server when we finally saw him. Not very attentive. Of course we were charged full price. My husband had the "steak frites". Beef was tasteless and very tough. I told him I would of sent it back but he doesn't like to rock the boat so he ate it. We have learned our lesson! We will never go back to dine at this resort.
