On the Grid : The Beehive

"Conveniently located in Edgewood Shopping District, this retail experience is unlike any other in the area. A handmade boutique collective, The Beehive highlights the work of independent artists and designers who live, work, and make their products locally and regionally. Aside from bringing consumers a wide selection of products (including apparel, housewares, accessories, jewelry, baby goods, and local food goods), artists are given the opportunity to increase their brand visibility through sales, community outreach, and engagement with like-minded entrepreneurs. Designer-owned and operated, the support extended to small businesses and the synergy created amongst the creative community is priceless." - Green Olive Media

We took the 9am tote class and 1:30pm pouch zipper bag class. Both were great. The tote class was a bit more advanced than my current skill level and the owner was incredibly kind and patient. The pouch zipper bag is great for all levels and we had a great time. I would highly recommend a class and shopping here. So many great artists and products! ❤️

The Beehive is an amazing little gem by 5 points. All of the jewelry, clothing, art, food, candles, ETC! are made by local Atlanta artists. Everyone will find something they’ll like here; and I know I’ve loved everything I’ve bought. Mari, one of the owners behind the counter, is extremely funny and authentic. I appreciate her energy so much, and she gives very good recommendations if you ask. I recommend this store to anyone who wants to explore ATL more intimately, and really get to see what people are doing in town. Love this spot :)

Google
Such a cute store where you can buy so many locally made items! There are items that range from jewelry, soaps, clothes, cutting boards, pottery, and more. And all of it is made by artists. It’s cool how it’s set up in there because each artist has their own little area of merchandise. The manager was a super nice lady. This is a great place to buy gifts for people!

Google
Absolutely wonderful experience. Mari was so incredibly helpful (and fun!), it was like having a personal shopper/best friend to help me find the perfect dress. Her opinions were honest and knowledgeable, she knew just what to grab from the inventory for the ultimate shopping experience.

I have been a supporter of the Beehive ATL for a few years now. The workshops are my fave! I have taken cooking, crafts and sewing workshops. What I enjoy most is the attention that the instructors provide. They are very encouraging and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work! See you all soon! A few photos from Workshops I’ve taken.

Great shop featuring local artists. Wonderful shop for a gift for yourself or someone else. Very reasonable prices. Candles, food, clothes, ceramics, lotions, jewelry and more.

Google
I visited this store with a friend today and we just loved it. We were interested in this particular store because they sell local artists products. We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door. After introductions and being told about sale items we talked a little about my favorite art, needle felting. I am so appreciative that this store exists, and has been around for years, showcasing local artists. I would love to see this duplicated closer to home. Meanwhile I hope to have a space of my own in this store next year.

Samantha Clausen

Google
This place was amazing! The woman who helped me was extremely nice, and very helpful. I came at the perfect time because there was a sale going on. The prices were amazing I ended up leaving with 4 pairs of earrings. All of the items were very good quality, and even without the sale they were reasonably priced. If I ever come back to Atlanta I know what my first stop will be! 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Easily accessible by the front or back entrance in the Edgewood Shopping Center. I arrived with a gift card hoping to purchase gifts. I was greeted with pleasantries and cheerfulness from the sister of shop's owner. Because it was apparent I was new to the store, she graciously gave me a rundown. I browsed casually. There's mostly a large selection of locally crafted jewelry -very nice collection but also there's clothing, candles, cards, treats, and other interesting odds. The store inventory is based on vendors so I'm sure it's it switches up. After settling on some gift, I checked out, and was happy to find free gift wrapping with purchase. Definitely charming! I also enjoyed the flow and friendless of different vendors coming in to restock their inventory. So I happy I was introduced to this store via gift card - will definitely return.

Yelp
This place has the best gifts, super affordable for the quality. Local vendors, and they gift wrap for free! Always recommend the beehive if you're looking for any sort of gift to give!

Yelp
Great shop with a good variety of items from local artists and makers! I highly recommend dropping by The Beehive if you are shopping for a unique gift for a loved one (or yourself). Wonderful small business with friendly staff!

Yelp
Can't believe this is my first review, this is my to go shop for gifts and jewelry. Women owned, family owned, black owned business that is focused on supporting the community. You'll find products from several makers ranging from clothes, jewelery, stationary, food, candles, to bath products; there is something for everyone. Twice a year they have their biannual warehouse sale where you can score some awesome deals. I strongly recommend getting on their mailing list and following their social media pages.

Yelp
I love this shop!! Packed with local artists and makers, gift shopping here is a breeze and makes me feel like a good person (lol!!). It's my go to for when I'm shopping for my sister in law, my mother in law, a girlfriend, a baby, etc. I never leave without getting something and it's always so fun to see the new pieces. Plus they are dog friendly!

Yelp
Great and unique gifts. A perfect place to find a gift for any occasion. The beehive also offers classes for those who are bold enough to be crafty with the artists. A cool and unique place.

Yelp
Omg this place is absolutely amazing, good food and good vibes, I will definitely be back.

Yelp
First of all, you could not ask for a more welcoming staff as we walked in the door. Then comes the wonderful selection of artisan jewelry, candles, clothes etc.... The prices were very reasonable for the handmade quality that you get. My friend and I will definitely be back. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
In the wake of the run off election, I wanted to support a local POC owner business in GA. Thanks to Google and Oprah - I found the Beehive. Could not have been happier with the box of goods that arrived today (food and candles for the most part). Going to make grits the weekend. Excellent quality and service. Thank you from Portland Oregon! (And no not one building has burned to the ground. We'll clean up, Portland's good like that.)

Dev G.

Yelp
If you have wondered where all the excellent customer service has gone in Atlanta, I have good news! It is alive and well at The Beehive! Owner Silas is awesome. He provided great info over the phone. When I arrived at the store an hour later he greeted me warmly and had already put my item at the counter. An extraordinary customer experience! I will be back soon.

Yelp
I stumbled into The Beehive one Monday with my mother. The title reminded me of a honey store so I've walked past this location plenty of times. But to my surprise this was a local, boutique artist showcase. The Beehive has locally crafted skin care, local baby clothes and accessories, locally made accessories, locally crafted clothes, and local foods. Such a cute a unique store. The day we stopped in was especially surprising to me because they were having a sale. And sales are my thing! I wanted to purchase everything from the store. However, what steered me away was one of the employees. She seemed to be an older store manager or supervisor. But her approach was disapproving, unapproachable, and unfriendly. Generally, this is enough to make me leave, but I didn't let her distaste deter me from searching through the goods. Nonetheless, I did my best to avoid her in the store and I hope on any future occasion I can do the same. Overall this boutique is a B-. This local artist collective boutique was exciting, unique, filled with treasures, with plenty decent prices. Pitfalls the customer service from one of the employees was enough to make me reconsider my first visit. However I would love to give this location a second chance for customer service redemption.

Yelp
Amazing products and even better staff! I love this place because we try to primarily shop at Black Owned Businesses and Women Owned Business. Also if you are looking for high quality masks, they have them for adults and kids!

Yelp
I LOVE this place! This is my go-to spot for gifts and accessories. Beautiful and unique jewelry, accessories, artwork, clothing, kitchen wares, spices, sauces, candles, etc. from local makers. The manager is very friendly and helpful. I asked her whether she carried any nickel-free jewelry given that I am extremely allergic and have almost entirely given up on finding legit nickel-free stuff. She pointed out about 8 different vendors of jewelry. I was skeptical and even asked about the return policy, given that I have bought "nickel-free" stuff many times only to find my ears swollen after a few hours of wearing. Lo and behold, I have two new sets of earrings that I can rock all day long, everyday! After I left, I opened up my bag to put on a necklace and found that it was missing. I went back and asked the manager and her assistant whether it might not have made it into my bad. They were very concerned and kind and spent several minutes looking for it. I went back outside and retraced my steps and found that it dropped out of my bag without realizing it. I was obviously embarrassed at wasting their time looking for something I lost, but they were incredibly gracious. I'm not sure who wrote that "the customer service is BAD" in a previous review and gave 1 star... I simply just can't imagine someone having that experience here where there are wonderful high-quality products and consistently good staff. Please support this wonderful and unique business.

Yelp
Such a cute hidden gem! Got a fun dish towel, fridge magnet, bbq sauce and earrings. Everything's local and gives credit to the seller

Yelp
This is my most favorite store in all of Atlanta. Today I scored a baby gift and a birthday gift plus cards for a party tomorrow. Maybe it's the power of last minute shopping or maybe it's just the great selection of stuff! You can purchase an entire outfit and accessories (I stopped myself at two pairs of earrings) plus body products and even craft supplies and delicious candied pecans. Check out the mini pie safe by the register. They also offer fun classes in resin casting and candle making to name a few. Make sure you get on their email list to stay on top of announcements about new artists and their fantastic warehouse sale.

Yelp
This is an awesome little store selling goodies from local Georgia artists. Each artist has their little stand with products ranging from candles to jewelry and everything in between. Products are actually affordable and many artists were having 20-25% off sales. I managed to pick up a few gifts for friends and a necklace for me inspired by Morse Code! The shop has lots of fun and unique items. The woman working there was also very kind and helpful, she hand-wrapped each gift item for customers in cute little boxes. If I lived in the area I am sure I would be in here all the time.

Yelp
Really cool boutique with an awesome aroma when you walk in. They have anything from clothes, to jewelry, to baby stuff, and gifts galore. I left with several gifts for friends. I love the concept that everything is from local vendors. This boutique will be a store i frequent when I'm back in town because they have very nice and eclectic things that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Also the staff was very nice and he even wrapped my gifts for me, bow and all for free. I loved it.

Aimee P.

Yelp
This is my go to boutique for unique locally made gifts. From jewelry to candles to clothing. They have it all. Their staff is always so friendly and helpful and genuine. They have me as a forever customer. (Also they gift wrap your purchases beautifully, so all your friends think you are fancy) Best boutique in ATL. Hands down.

Yelp
Before I stepped into The Beehive, I was already expecting to love it. A space that sells local goods and hosts craft classes? I'm sold! Thankfully, the place lives up to its hype, or at least the hype I'd built up in my mind. A friend and I went for a class recently. She'd been to several before and was very positive which I took as a good sign. It was easy to register online in advance, and you just sign in when you arrive. There are two entrances to the shop; the back one from the parking lot seems to be the way to go if your class is going on outside of business hours. The owner of The Beehive was actually the teacher. She was very outgoing, enthusiastic, patient, and helpful. After a quick tutorial, we were allowed to go to town. I went home with some terrific pieces which I was happy about. The only suggestion I have would be to enroll a slightly smaller number of students since it was a little cramped around the narrow table, and I was terrified of messing up someone else's stuff. Luckily, I didn't, whew. One of the best aspects of taking a class at The Beehive is that you get 20% off your purchase in the boutique. The Beehive is heavy on the jewelry, but you can find clothing, baby stuff, edibles, decor, and bath treats as well. I left with some presents for a friend, and the employee wrapped them all up in a box tied with a ribbon in the color of my choosing. For free too! Yay. I shall return to Atlanta's bricks-and-mortar version of Etsy!

Yelp
Summary: the customer service Is just BAD! The attempt to teach people is great, however they should reduce the class size and get a new instructor. Long Story: This place is honestly a cute concept. Upon arrival, its love at first sight for any local business supporter. This studio is a place to support up and coming "crafters" as they start off because most things, if not all are hand made. We signed up for a few classes, jewelry making, clay jewelry making, and sewing a skirt. Each class was 2 hours. The first class was layered jewelry making. It contained approximately 14 to 16 people with one teacher. So you already knew the issue....The staff/student ratio. The class presented a few "challenges" in my opinion 1. staff/ teacher ratio- most people in the class have never made jewelry. 2. There were approximately 5 mirrors on the table. I won't call this class hard but it was a little challenging opening and closing the rings that attach the jewelry pieces. With there being one teacher and 16 of us, the issue was getting the teachers attention! Most people needed help closing the rings. She stood on one side of the table more then other and the table was very long. With this type of class, since you're actually using tools and making things, verbal instruction wasn't enough. The rings had to be closed completely, which required people to be able to use their left and right hand at the same time. If you didn't close the clasp, we later learned, your jewelry would fall apart. Which is what was happening with me and a young lady next to me, along with my friend who came with me. Throughout this project i can not lie, i wanted to quit. The teacher even gave a story of women who quit the class because it was overwhelming. The teachers response was "jewelry making isn't for everyone". Most people who sign up for classes do it because they are interested and are open to the challenge. But not having support from the teacher could result in making you want to quit. The other issue was how the materials were laid out. There were small dishes that were going up the table. Each participant had to get up and reach over others who were sitting to get a chance to look at all the charms and fixtures. While making the necklace you had to determine the lengths you wanted the chain to hang. This required a mirror. There were 4 maybe 5 mirrors on the table for everyone to share. Which is not enough for someone making a 3 layer necklace. About an hour and a half into the class there were a few people who were concerned with whether or not they would be able to finish the necklace. The teacher told us that everyone would leave with something. At this point the teacher decides to be more hands on. I'm going to safely assume she was getting annoyed with us towards the end. She was talking in that really unnatural high pitch "I'm being nice" voice with a forced stiff smile. But Whenever her sister/ business partner came into the area her voice would change into her natural voice. With 10-15 minutes remaining, the teacher was able to make time and assisted with my necklace. Throughout this class you were constantly asking the person next to you if they understood or if they heard what the teacher said. Which isn't fair because you paid for instruction. I left with jewelry i could never wear. I come back for a sewing class. In the class description we were told to bring fabric and everything else would be provided. there was no specifics on the type of fabric that would be best. The teacher (same as jewelry) began to complain about everyone's fabric. We visited the website and confirmed, a specific type of fabric was never specified. Our instructer( lets just call her carol) had us spread out to cut our fabric. Now this is where things got funky. We spread out around the store. But the problem arises for people who wanted a long skirt, which was more than half of us. Carol says we can't make long skirts. So why have us measure ourselves if the short skirt was the only option. If we wanted a long skirt we'd have to do something different. Now remember we are all around the building when this discovery was made. The steps for the longer skirt was not explained while we were all together. So Everyone is calling Carol. At no time did she just ask us all to come together so she could explain. To make matters worse, Carol has began to mentally check out of instructing us. Her "man" has began calling because he needs grocery store assistance. She's eating chips while talking to her sister, all while we try to assist one another in making this skirt, we paid to learn to make from Carol. And the chips were Fritos! Fritos are the most stink chips EVERRRR. I get being hungry, but the way this chip eating went down was just unprofessional and stinky. Needless to say my friend and i didn't leave with a skirt. Nor did we come back for the other classes we signed up! Overall this place is a good concept that wasn't executed well.

Yelp
A bright cheery splash of green (but not too 'lime' of a green. and not too 'forest,' either. I mean, seriously. These people are designers. It's a lovely "I would enjoy a room in my house painted that shade of green" green.) in a strip of businesses on Peachtree is the entrance to Beehive. Beehive is a collection of various artists (think home goods, baby clothes, jewelry) all housed in this 'co-op' space. Many of the designers are the same ones you'll often see at local festivals, hawking their wares under tents and battling crowds of potentially intoxicated festivalgoers. The atmosphere is much more calm of a shopping experience. Some specific designers that come to mind are Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, which are pretty much cotton American Apparel-ish goods hand screenprinted with hipsteresque designs. I've scored a pretty cool tunic for a birthday gift from this line before. Also, Relic's cute vintage headbands can be found here, too. You'll also be able to see work from Bee Good Studio, which cranks out Domino Magazine style custom silhouettes of whatever your little heart desires, for a truly personal gift. . . way less cheesy than a wooden name cut out or engraved frame. There are about 30 designers to choose from in a pretty large range of price points. Notsomuch a place where you can expect to walk out of here with a quick, inexpensive welcome gift for your new neighbor, but the kind of place to peruse, and finally decide on something supercool for yourself or to buy for your best friend. You'll also be able to release your inner Martha Stewart here with a little help from the Beehive team. They have classes like intro sewing and jewelry making will get you started on doing all those handcrafted holiday gifts you've always dreamed about churning out.

Yelp
Oh Em Muthafuckin' Geee. Love this store and its concept; the concept being only local artists and artisans are in stock. I have no baseline to compare it to, like Miss Stacey E, but me likey what I see. Local foods (i.e. jelly, cupcakes, and shit), stuff for the doggies and kiddies (not gonna tell you which I think is better), purses, jewelry, artwork, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. It's like Etsy popped out of the internets, loaded up on ATLiens, and got a storefront. Da' sto' is located in Edgewood Shopping Center, directly on the road that cuts between the Target side and Lowe's side.

Yelp
Update regarding last review. I received a nice email from the owner apologizing/explaining and explaining. I also found the email regarding the schedule change in my spam folder. Changing rating based on interaction with the owner. Also I will sign up for workshop again.

Yelp
Very cute shop in the Edgewood retail district with locally sourced items; jewelry, beauty, candles, and clothing. Lots of cute stuff for baby as well. Service was excellent, and on this December weekend they were gift wrapping with cute craft paper and ribbon. There should be more shops like this in every community to support local crafters and designers. Also looked like a place in the back to do your own crafting, which was super cool. This will definitely be a go to place for me for gifts in the future!

Yelp
Excellent store for all those people into Etsy and hand made crafts! It doubles as both a handmade crafts/bath store (natural soaps, beautiful jewelry, etc) and supplies store (felt, fabrics, items for making necklaces, etc) and manages to fit it all in one small space! The store also consists of several sections divided up by local artist. I went during their 50-90% sale, when much of the goodies had relatively low price tags, but when things aren't on sale they can be pretty pricey. The clothes selection is a bit limited, but there's only so much they can fit into one store! Very exciting being able to stop by during the sale event, but I probably wouldn't be a regular since handmade goods do come at a cost!

Yelp
Interesting store to enjoy sometime to stroll. The handmade original art pieces are a nice change of pace.

Yelp
Great shop with countless local gifts! In addition to a beautiful and unique jewelry selection, The Beehive has clothing, lotions, art, candles, food and more from local purveyors. While some pieces are on the pricer side -- for local artists, the prices are very reasonable compared to what you would find at art fairs, craft markets or online shops like Etsy. I've gone to The Beehive on several occasions to find gifts for friends and family and have never left disappointed -- and usually not without a gift for myself as well.

Yelp
If I could give this place six stars, or seven, or ten! I totally would. This is one of my favorite local retailers in the entire city. The store is beautiful and is home to a wide variety of crafty, unique items created by local Atlanta and Georgia artists. It's like a one-stop shop for all things crafty and cute. You can easily get all your holiday shopping done by swinging by, getting a couple adorable "Made In Georgia" onesies for the tots in your life, a neato thin tie for the professional, a fancy-pants creative smelling candle for your mother-in-law (because it's hard to buy for her, but anyone would love those damn candles), some hot steve salt for the experimental chef in your life, plus jewelry, hair accessories, clothes!, t-shirts, prints, everything. If you can't find a gift for every person you know at Beehive, then some of your pals must be really boring. Also, what's awesome about the Beehive, is that you can buy odds and ends for your own projects. I got a bunch of random things to make an Advent calendar for my son, and to decorate an Oscar the Grouch pumpkin for a pumpkin decorating contest - and their yarns, scrap fabric, and crafty whatnots are a great value for the price. They also offer classes! Amazing!!!

Yelp
The Beehive is located in the Edgewood Retail District on the same side as GameStop. It's a lovely shop that sells goods (food, jewelry, clothing, home goods, etc) all created by local artists. I love that this shop embraces the 'shop local' movement, and that it supports local artists. PLUS, you can always find great, one-of-a-kind gifts for just about anyone on your gift list here. While perusing the store and chatting with the owners, I also discovered they do crafts classes for just about any craft you can think of. AWESOME. I'm going to keep an eye on their classes schedule, and definitely will be back to try one! Oh, and they also carry Wanderlust cold brewed coffee (ready to drink AND bottled concentrate).
google avatar

TJ D.

Yelp
I love this gem so much! The classes, the jewelry, the trinkets, cards, people, and vibe are all wonderful! Cupid is an amazing artist and instructor and I'll definitely be back when I return to Atlanta. I had too much fun and wish we had a Beehive in Chicago!

Yelp
I try to buy handmade and local as much as possible. It's sometimes a difficult task, but co-ops like these enable you to see [and hopefully purchase!] the wares of different artists and craftspeople. Beehive boasts a variety of locally produced goods and wares, mostly for the women and the spawn in your life. There isn't a lot for men, but you can find a little something here and there, if you look. I like the layout and its winding path around cute onesies and whimsical stuffed animals, through edgy tees and dresses, and by minimal, sleek jewelry and homemade bath salts. The location is a bit of a drawback. It's very easy to miss and parking can sometimes be cumbersome. It's a great and welcome addition to Atlanta's shopping scene.
google avatar

Kathleen M.

Yelp
The Beehive has become my newest obsession. It's dangerously close to my house, meaning a quick pop in has become part of my regular routine. There's always something to new to look at, whether it's a completely new designer or just something I missed on my last visit. The shop owner, Malene, is an absolute joy to work with and is INCREDIBLY talented: I just found out she makes the awesome giant wood bead necklaces I've always coveted. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and super committed to the mission, which is such a nice change from the lack of service you get via most chain shops. If you're looking for gifts, it's a one stop shop as they've got a little bit of everything: baby clothes and gifts, locally made jams and jellies, Sugar Coated Radical treats, jewelry that ranges from simple to over the top, and so much more.
google avatar

Nikki K.

Yelp
I wanted my 200th review to be something special so I opted to leave Beehive Co-op alone until I got to this mile marker. Four stars, why you might ask? Why? I can't afford some of the things they have! And it kills me! The other reason? It's in a part of town that is a pain-in-the-ass for me to get to. Otherwise, they have the cutest jewelry, purses, clothes, baby goods, stationary, books, etc. known to man. The only place that I think can beat this is my new Knoxville hot spot, Bliss. If you want to buy unique items for yourself or a friend I would highly advise going here and ditching the mall!

Yelp
Maximally obsessed. The Beehive is the type of store that makes me feel like shopping is an acceptable hobby. Everything in the store is so unique and I can quickly find plenty of things that I'm convinced either I must have or I know someone who would die if they didn't own it. Sometimes I feel like these "unique" stores have really weird arts and craft projects that only a mother could love but the Beehive is totally the opposite with well crafted and legitimately cute things. The store is little "booth" like areas each with its own flavor. Lots of jewelry, other accessories, stationary, pottery, kids toys and clothes, knick-knacks, and a few clothing items are to be found here. I purchased an infinity scarf with an ikat design, a beautiful gold bracelet, a magnet featuring a man from the 1800s saying "holla at a playa", and a unique card. I could have kept going but I had to cut myself off. I was very tempted by the coasters featuring scenes of some ATL classic locations, the knit koozies, and the mustache-centric stationary. Usually I don't drive across town to go to one store, but honestly the Beehive is worth it. The staff is so nice and parking is a breeze in the giant lot next door. I have no doubt that I would be able to find a needed gift or an end of the week treat for myself here. Check it out fo sho!!

Yelp
The Beehive is one of the reasons I enjoy this city. A collection of wonderfully talented small businesses under one roof selling unique items year-round. Everything from jewelry to prints to jams to dog biscuits. If you are looking for a gift, check it out. In fact, this is where I went when I was trying to put together a goodie bag of items that represented Atlanta when visiting friends in Amsterdam. I walked away with a box full of handmade/crafted items ranging from soap to jam and it was nice to say it was all made locally. Their bi-annual Warehouse Sale (going on this week!) is my favorite time to visit. Most of the items are on sale and you can peruse for hours looking at all the great finds. They also hold crafting classes (jewelry, knitting/crocheting, body stuff, etc). The place is usually estrogen central but you may see a guy every now and then. He's usually been brought there. There are a handful of crafted items for men. What I saw last time - bear/mustache grooming items, t-shirts and a company that made specialty cufflinks. The only thing that sucks about going to The Beehive, to no fault of their own, is the horribly designed clusterf*ck that is the Edgewood Shopping District. Real life mouse trap.

Yelp
I love love love this concept. They have a little of everything but the best is really the jewelry selection and they have a lot of nice layering t shirts. Right now they are having a super sale. Lots of stuff 50% off. Great deals are all the way to the back. Also if you turn the street before you can park and enter through the back. They also have contact information for the artisans so if you are interested in something you don't see for sale you can always contact them directly to see if you can get a special order.

Yelp
I love the concept here and I love their lovely jewelry. Not all the jewelry is incredibly affordable, but they do have a lot of very unique, creative and pretty stuff. They have several jewelry sections throughout the store, and then a little room in the back that only has jewelry. I love jewelry and this store is fun for me. I enjoy looking at everything in the store and I appreciate the design and work put into everything. It's a lovely little shop and it's fun to shop here. And, shopping here does mean supporting local artists and designers so that's pretty cool. It's a nice store and worth checking out.

Yelp
I'm adding a star here because: 1. The customer service is awesome 2. They still have the coolest one-of-a-kind items 3. I bought the hottest wallet in Atlanta...its green leather with orange...very kewl! Definitely support beehive co-op!

Yelp
Unique. Pretty. Delightful. This little treasure trove of fashions and goodies is one of my new favorite shops in Atlanta. I first heard about it on the Daily Candy website which was promoting their big bi-annual warehouse sale. I was intrigued by the description of indie crafts and gifts, so I decided to stop in one saturday evening with my friend. The store itself is open and bright with pretty displays divided up by designer. The handmade skirts, the endearing local stationary printed with ATL neighborhoods, the stunning colored glass earrings, the heavenly scented soaps and body lotions...you can tell that each designer has been carefully selected for their charming creations. I fell for the beautiful stationary by Jane Hancock papers and ended up buying a lovely red dress with a floral applique by LK Clothing (marked down from $60 to $20!). I was very tempted by the vintage jewelry bin and many of the elegant jewelry displays, but I restrained myself. Not only were the items well made and beautiful, but the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They offered suggestions on where to find certain items and what accessories paired well together. It is apparent that the employees are very passionate about the products that they carry which is always the best form of advertisement. This shop is perfect for gifts - for loved ones and for yourself. Although the sale is what brought me into the shop in the first place, I will most certainly be returning for their regularly priced merchandise. It is simply irresistible!

Yelp
Dramatic neck pieces. Classic earrings. Enormous rings. Edgy greeting cards. Purdy purses. Bold headbands. A Scoutmob coupon. MAJOR DANGER. After wishing Scoutmob's max discount were $500, I settled on a silver necklace called "Disco Headdress." Hopefully the title will evoke images of its awesomeness. I didn't realize that the woman behind Imal-Inaj jewelry owns this place. I bought one of her pieces at the Oakhurst Festival a couple falls ago and noticed several other festival vendors' baubles amongst the tables and shelves. It's cool that a shop touting local artists' work sits in a shopping center with a bunch of ol' chains.

Yelp
A really cute shop in the Edgewood Retail District. Cute little gifts, jewelry, baby clothes at reasonable prices. Ask for little boxes and ribbons for packing. These are available free of cost.

Yelp
I went to this store two times in ONE day. Now, I only purchased during one of my trips, but browsed during both. This is a cutsie LOCAL boutique that has really JAZZY phat stuff. I purchased tons of stuff for me and 1 item for each family member that I was traveling with/visiting during this trip. From the jewelry, to the soaps, clothes, loose leaf teas - this spot just has it ALL. And the best thing is that their sales are truly sales. I love love love my funky clothing and statement pieces. When in the ATL, hit the BEEHIVE! Their eCommerce store will be up and running soon - I can't wait!!!!

Yelp
The Beehive is like a store version of Pinterest. So many cute things! It's a great spot for finding little local gifts to send to out-of-towners. Georgia barbeque sauce, postcards of each Atlanta neighborhood, coasters, bags, etc. All locally made. I don't frequent the Beehive, but I've gone to their semi-annual sale a few times. One word for the sale: CRAY. Crowds of DIY/home decor/local arts-loving people (mostly women) squeezing through the store's tiny aisles. My advice is to go later in the day. Some things will be already sold, but you won't have to deal with the headache of crowds of people.

Yelp
Love this store. Love the concept of supporting local artists. Selection is good but could be more diverse. Not enough of a selection of gifts for the men in my life. My biggest issue is twice now I've stopped by to get a gift for a brunch date and even though the door sign says they open at noon...and its 12:15, door is still locked and lights out. So you lose a star for unreliable hours. Why bother even posting hours on the door? All that said I'm sure I'll be back.

Yelp
I came in here for one it their sewing classes. The class was $45, and the teacher was very helpful and generous. I highly recommend the sewing classes. We got 20% off for the evening, and I perused the wares. There were clothes, jams, jewelry, home goods, art, and many nice things. I could let myself truly appreciate the jewelry because I have to do some judicious pruning at home, but I will return after I think my current belongings to a manageable level. Everyone here was super friendly. It was just a great June at the end of a long day. Thanks, beehive.

Yelp
Typically, boutique stores aren't really my thing. I find that items are often overpriced compared to what I am comfortable paying. I've walked past The Beehive a gajillion times, honestly. My boyfriend's sister gave me a great pair of earrings that came from the shop, so when I found myself in the shopping center today with a little bit of time, I figured there could be no harm in stopping in. No harm, except to my bank account. Wait...but everything was amazingly well-priced! Granted, they are currently holding their Warehouse Sale, meaning many items are 40%-90% off, but still. Even the normal prices weren't bad! I walked out with a pair of earrings, a small piece of wood block art, a swaddling blanket, a baby t-shirt, and a letterpress card, all for less than $40. There is a little bit of everything here, although my boyfriend didn't find much to look at, so I just met him at the bookstore when I was done. It's definitely geared a bit more towards the ladies, with bath and body products, jewelry, home goods, and baby gear. Everything was very well-made and you could read about the person who made the goods at each little station. I probably could've wandered the store for another hour, just looking around! I can imagine I will find myself making excuses to pop back in here, now that I know what I've been missing out on for so long! I'm not sure if it's a blessing or a curse that I'm about to move in walking distance from the shop. I'll stick with blessing.
