We really enjoyed our early evening meal here. The desserts were particularly yummy if you have a sweet tooth. Dogs are allowed and service was friendly and efficient. Small car park at the front of the pub and we were lucky to get a space.

The management was kind enough to offer a price adjustment since our room had neither a working hair dryer nor a working bedside lamp. Even so, I can't recommend it and would not go back. The sheets and towels were clean, but much else was not. The carpet was filthy, the finish on the toilet seat was delaminating from the wooden seat, and the teacups and coffee machine were dirty. It's a shame because it's in a nice location.

Been here twice since Friday. It feels a bit of a local place for local people. I would like to say that nothing is too much trouble, but the staff let you know that it is. The food is good, the chairs in the restaurant have been borrowed from Lilliput, they are 4/5ths scale at best. Either the staff were under pressure or service with a smile has bypassed this place. It’s a really nice venue let down only by the feeling that you are putting the staff out and unfortunately it’s not an open welcome.

We loved our stay at Stow on the Wold and our room at the Stewart House. The town is like stepping back in time. It could be used for a movie location, it's so authentically medieval. The shops and restaurants are charming. We had a delicious Sunday Roast dinner at The Posting House and very filling complementary breakfast in the Bell Tavern. Our room, which is called the "Otter" room, was spacious enough to be comfortable and the bathroom looked like it had recently been remodeled. The mini fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks which are available for purchase at checkout. There's also a Nespresso machine and electric kettle. Only one negative: our room was at ground level and the only window opened out to the courtyard where a group was sitting and chatting until quite late. The day was warm so we really needed the window opened. It would have been lovely to have air conditioning which isn't practical in these antique buildings, but a fan would have been appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this very picturesque spot.

Location is fine, however the "squirrel" room is not a double room, we occupied three rooms the hedgehog and the fox and the squirrel, which the other two was slightly bigger but for for the same price. All three rooms was not clean, the amount of dust that was in the rooms was disgraceful considering we checked in as the cleaner had just finished all rooms and we also got told check in was not available till 3:30 due to the delay on the cleans. One of the rooms there was no remote for the TV we had to give up one of the fans in the room for the smaller room as it was so hot in there. The toilets was filthy once you lifted the seat up, the blinds was damaged paint on the walls chipped. The amount of dust on the blue bed runner mustn't of had a wash in its life expectancy, the bed sheets there was hair in the bed. The access to the property of an evening is not well lit and can be dangerous, car park is very tight and small, running on very minimal staff at the bell pub which is where you go for check-in however this is not explained.

Didn’t stay, walked in for breakfast at 8am. Server was welcoming and I had the full English. Hash browns were crispy and so was the streaky bacon. Would recommend to everyone as I considered it a 10/10 👍

Great roast at The Bell in Stow on the Wold – tender meat, crispy roasties, fluffy Yorkshire puds and proper gravy. Cosy pub. Perfect spot for Sunday lunch.|Staff were very attentive with a super lovely attitude. Thankyou!!

We went with friends for dinner on a Thursday evening. We won't be returning. When we arrived at 7 pm, the restaurant was about a third full but the waiter seated us at the worst table in the house, immediately in front of the bar where a number of people were speaking quite loudly. When we asked for a quieter table, the waiter said they were going to be very busy but begrudgingly moved us to a different table. The restaurant only got about half to two thirds full for the rest of the evening; we could always see a number of empty tables. The fish was overcooked and dry and our broccoli stems undercooked. One of the dishes we ordered didn't appear with the rest and arrived when we had finished eating our mains.
