The Belle Rive Boutique Hotel

A wonderful French colonial style boutique hotel. With river frontage to relax over breakfast and dinner whilst taking in views of the Mekong. We enjoyed a complimentary sunset cruise which thoughtfully took us up river, slightly away from the music coming from other loud pleasure craft. The hotel offers a relaxing massage in a private cabana in the river front or just a place to chill or play French boules. The hotel grow their own vegetables here and the food, particularly the green curry is delicious. Breakfast is a choice from an extensive menu. We stayed in a riverfront room. The beds were beautifully comfortable and the room well appointed with a free beer and soft drink mini bar. The traffic on the road in front starts from 6am so best to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, unless you are getting up to make the 7.30am an alms offering to the Monks who walk peacefully by in the street behind the hotel. Offerings of eggs are very much appreciated over rice. The hotel staff are so friendly, kind and genuine. I'd stay here again in a heart beat. The hotel also offer a complimentary taxi back to the airport.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Nice location. Easy to walk or free bike rental. Felt very safe. The breakfast was included and was absolutely delicious. Mini bar and access to additional water was included. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Staff is the best. We will come back and stay here. We only had 2 days and it was not enough time. Free sunset river cruise with including cocktail. Thank you so much for the wonderful time. Kudos to everyone there!

Friendly and welcoming staff from the moment we arrived. We were given welcome drinks and room upgrades. Do note that there are no lifts so you'd have to carry your luggage up or down a short flight of stairs (the ever-helpful staff are happy to assist). Perfect location if you want to see alms-giving in the morning. They pass by just after 6am at the street right beside the hotel, a few metres away. There is some traffic noise in the early morning, but we were mostly unaffected by it. One sort-of interesting point is, the wooden floors in the rooms were super slippery... maybe they'd been freshly waxed or something. It didn't bother us, but may be something to take note of. The hotel restaurant (Belle Rive Terrace) had the best fried rice and mango sticky rice... simply amazing. Housekeeping was fast, efficient and unobtrusive. Drinks in the mini bar are complimentary, and (other than the beer) restocked daily.

The BELLE RIVE Hotel....My husband and I came across this hotel after stopping for lunch on the Mekong river esplanade. We had booked into another hotel which was nice but didnt suit our needs. The lunch was delicious and after talking to the waitress (sorry forgot her name) about locations in Luang prabang she went across the road to the hotel attached to this restaurant and brought back a map of this area for us. We didnt realise it was attached and went to see if any availability. Our luck yes. Booked for three nights as the rooms were excellent, 5 star I would say...his and her bathroom amenities, great shower, great view of the Mekong and street below...great location, close to main street, many restaurants, clubs, night market, temples, all a stone throw away. Complimentary breakfast amazing, mini bar free for non alcoholic drinks and first night two free beers. The managers Soman (hope I spelt that right) and kai couldnt do enough for us. So very helpful and gave us a discount as we stayed there twice...couldnt get enough of the place. The service they gave us was top notch..Restaurant staff excellent, friendly and helpful too. We will definitely come back to stay in this hotel when visiting Luang Prabang. The laundry service a bit expensive as is in any hotel, But there is a laundry place right next door which we used. The lady there was very good, reasonable price and clothes were clean and folded when returned. I would recommend her for laundry.

We had a wonderful time in The Belle Rive Boutique Hotel! The Room we stayed in was located in the main house with a Maisonette bed and a beautiful balcony torwards the Mekong river! This hotel has such a good service in every kind. The owners have a very good sense and love for tiny details who wouldn’t even get in a 5-Star hotel. Every day there is fresh fruits a “Betthupferl” before bedtime ( which is a Swiss tradition - means you get a delicious tiny piece of chocolate before nighttime). The towels and wardrobes smell sooooo good and if you want to get laundry done i can highly recommend! My laundry was fresh, super good smelling and delivered back to the room the same day. They use a little basket to present it to you. One of my highlights during the stay was the phenomenal massage treatment in their garden. As my profession is being a physiotherapist and osteopath - I have usually a hard time to find a good massage place I would enjoy. But these masseurs were so so so good in their job! They now exactly how they use pressure - follow the anatomical structures and are just lovely people. Thanks to the wonderful staff that made our stay (5 nights) to 12 out of 10!!!! We definitely come back ❤️🙏🏼

Wow ! No other words for this hotel ! We had an amazing stay. First of all, the decoration and the architecture is just stunning. The location with a view on the Mekong and at walking distance of all points of interests in Luang Prabang is just perfect. The staff was lovely and they made us feel very welcome. We also had the chance to meet the manager that was very friendly as well. Last but not least: the breakfast was just amazing ! After 2 months travelling Asia, could not have been happier of having baguettes pains au chocolats, cold cuts, cheese etc … you can also have a view of the sunset from their terrace ☀️ . I highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay in Luang Prabang 🥰

Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤️ The Belle Rive is a beautiful hotel located right on the Mekong River. From my bed in the morning, I could watch the swaying palm trees an frangipanis outside my window and the boats floating on the river. Every sunset over the tranquil Mekong was magical. The most important thing for me when traveling are the people, and at The Belle Rive, the staff was reliable and accommodating. Everyone we had the pleasure of speaking with spoke excellent English, which significantly enhanced our stay. We spent three nights here. The hotel is housed in four restored buildings dating back to colonial times. The refrigerator was stocked with soft drinks, which were free of charge. Bathrobes and slippers were provided in the room. Daily housekeeping was provided. Bicycles and electric bikes were available for free use. The bed had a mosquito net. The room was quiet despite the traffic. The procession of monks is just behind the hotel; you just need to walk 100-200 meters at 6:00 AM. Interestingly, the room was furnished with a wardrobe reminiscent of a bygone century, a bronze drum that served as a table (we saw the same one in the palace in Luang Prabang), and a beautiful washbasin with a painting. Every day, the ladies brought us fruit, snacks, and chocolates. Tourists often approached to the door of our room to take photos. As part of our stay, we were able to take one hour-long cruise on the Mekong River with a drink. I will remember my stay at The Belle Rive for a long time and recommend it to anyone traveling to Luang Prabang, as it is an unforgettable experience, experiencing the Laos of 100 years ago.

We’ve stayed in Luang Prabang several times and this hotel sticks out as the best. Excellent service, spacious and beautiful rooms (including family room with two bedrooms)the best beds and the best location in town! We will definitely book here next time- already looking forward to it! Thanks again!
