Would love to visit in prime season. Great atmosphere, lots of bar/restaurants to choose from and the outdoor seating has to be awesome in warm weather.

Very pretty! Friendly people all around. They have some bars and food places in the alley open late. Is a quick and short walk so I recommend walking back and forth through it a bit.

It’s free to walk through and every wall is covered with something unique — perfect for photos. The atmosphere changes day vs. night: in daylight you see all the colors and details, and in the evening the lights overhead give it a fun, urban vibe. Bars and restaurants nearby make it easy to grab a drink or bite after exploring. Quick to visit (10–20 minutes), but you’ll probably end up staying longer taking pictures. A great stop if you’re already at Campus Martius or Greektown.

Beautiful alley way adorned with lights and murals. Definitely a vibe whether walking through in the night or the day. Little bars, shops and restaurants are right through there. Definitely a scenic touristy spot, great for photos and the experience.

The Belt is one of the most interesting corners of downtown Detroit. Walking through, you’re surrounded by murals, installations, and a mix of tucked-away bars that give the alley a lot of personality. It feels lively but not overwhelming, and it’s worth a stop whether you’re there for a quick drink, to check out the art, or just to take it in while exploring downtown. As someone in my 40s, I appreciated that the space attracts a mix of people and feels safe and welcoming. Definitely one of those unique spots that makes Detroit stand out.

Went to the Adidas Do Over Event a few weeks back at the Belt and wow - what a great space of art, food stands, little hidden bars and galleries. This spot has so much character and impressive to see how an alleyway can be completely transformed into an experience. The music was excellent as per usual with the Do Over Crew, vibrant and upbeat crowd - also loved hitting up the little drink and food stands throughout.

Very cool Alley area in Downtown Detroit with many shops, restaurants and bars, and a parking garage with very stylish mural art. There is awesome street art and sketches in the actual alley as well. Check it out!

"The Belt" is an alleyway located in the heart of downtown Detroit full of outside drinks and eats and art and back doors to restaurants. Very beautiful comfortable safe place to relax and just enjoy the heart of the city. To hang with friend family or alone. Great experience , you have to go at least one time. You will love it. The service is good even better depending where you stop and which restaurant or bar you drink or eat at.
