Very pretty! Friendly people all around. They have some bars and food places in the alley open late. Is a quick and short walk so I recommend walking back and forth through it a bit.

Bars and restaurants nearby make it easy to grab a drink or bite after exploring. Quick to visit (10–20 minutes), but you’ll probably end up staying longer taking pictures. A great stop if you’re already at Campus Martius or Greektown.

Beautiful alley way adorned with lights and murals. Definitely a vibe whether walking through in the night or the day. Little bars, shops and restaurants are right through there. Definitely a scenic touristy spot, great for photos and the experience.

It feels lively but not overwhelming, and it’s worth a stop whether you’re there for a quick drink, to check out the art, or just to take it in while exploring downtown. As someone in my 40s, I appreciated that the space attracts a mix of people and feels safe and welcoming. Definitely one of those unique spots that makes Detroit stand out.

Beyond its aesthetic value, The Belt has developed into a center for local activities and nightlife. It is home to notable establishments including Standby, a contemporary speakeasy-style bar that was nominated as a semifinalist for the James Beard Award in 2017 and 2018, and The Skip, an outdoor cocktail bar with a tropical ambiance. Pop-up exhibitions, live music events, and even scavenger hunts have all taken place in the alley, allowing guests to interact with the artwork in fun ways. Very cool Alley area in Downtown Detroit with many shops, restaurants and bars, and a parking garage with very stylish mural art. There is awesome street art and sketches in the actual alley as well. Check it out!

"The Belt" is an alleyway located in the heart of downtown Detroit full of outside drinks and eats and art and back doors to restaurants. Very beautiful comfortable safe place to relax and just enjoy the heart of the city. To hang with friend family or alone. Great experience , you have to go at least one time. You will love it. The service is good even better depending where you stop and which restaurant or bar you drink or eat at.
