The Berry Hotel

The hotel is very nice, with beautifully tiled rooms. We stayed in a room with a view of a green field, which was absolutely beautiful at first. Later, we found out that it was actually a swamp. The service was outstanding. The receptionist and her husband went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We wanted to get a massage, and although it wasn’t available at the hotel, they helped us find someone and arranged it for us. There is a very small pool with a seating area that is just enough for the size of the pool. Because the hotel is close to the swamp, there are a lot of mosquitoes and flies, which can be quite unbearable.

On our road trip we stopped in here for lunch and a wander around the town. There is a substantial car park to the rear for those driving. There is a bistro to the rear, the bar to the front and a couple of dining areas too. There is also seating out the front under the roofed area.|The food was pretty good and came in quick time considering how busy the place was. Drinks are ordered at the bar and depending on the staff depends on how long it takes. The food itself is ordered from the bistro.

Nice pub for a drink and a meal except their bizarre rule about food. They made up their own sign and quoted the ‘smoke free act of 2000’ to say no food to be consumed in this outdoor seating area! OK to drink and smoke but not eat… go figure!

Right in the heart of Berry, we stopped in for Saturday Lunch and a few drinks. Food was excellent (who doesn’t love a good steak?) and was prepared promptly. The Hotel has plenty of table space for groups large and small. Excellent visit, will be back again.

Came for a drive from Wollongong to check out Berry. I had the mushroom pizza absolutely brilliant 10/10. The beer pint was perfect on a warm afternoon. Nice outside area to have lunch with our dog.

I ordered the Barramundi and it was nice, and the kitchen prepared our orders in good time. My wife and friends also enjoyed their meal. However, you can only get a drink from the main bar and there was a line-up that was 10 to 15 people deep. It took 20 to 25 minutes to get a drink which is disappointing. It was a busy day in Berry with the Red Hot Summer concert and Berry markets on. Hotel management would have been aware of these events, they need to open a second drinks station or dramatically increase their staffing behind the main bar.

Ran out of Guinness and the first 3 items we wanted off the food menu were all sold out. However what we did end up ordering was delicious and the atmosphere of the Berry Hotel is excellent. Service was friendly and helpful. The manager on the day was doing everything she could to ensure all patrons had an enjoyable experience.

Accommodation is not up to standard especially the bathrooms. Charging hotel prices for worse than hostel quality. I slept with ear plugs on but the music was blasting til midnight and sound easily travelled from the street and surrounds. Then first thing in morning the cleaners started. I’ve never been incarcerated but if you’re after a prison experience this must come close.
