We stayed there for two nights, party of 4, 2,rooms. I was a little taken aback by the condition of the rooms – for the price they were not up to par.. In one of the guest-rooms the shower and bathtub were in the middle of the room so when part of our party who stayed in the room took a shower the entire room steamed up and smelled like mold. But the worst part of this whole trip was that we all felt completely unwelcome by the owner Ellen. She feigned being nice however there was underlying tone of you're in my house and this is my domain so you have to follow the rules or I'm not going to be happy. One particular incident was that she was extremely upset because I went into the kitchen to cut a lemon. I had a severe bronchial cough, needed to make some hot water and honey / lemon. I've stayed in many bed-and-breakfasts and this has not been the case- any bed-and-breakfast I've ever stayed in, I've had the run of the kitchen as it should be when you're paying a price to stay in a bed-and-breakfast especially this one because the price was way too high for what it was in comparison to all the beautiful hotels and bed-and-breakfast we stayed in during our 12 day trip to the south. When the lemon incident occurred it made us feel like we wanted to leave at that moment. We then went on to Savannah to stay in the most beautiful historical home imaginable , the inn keepers were unbelievably welcoming and there were notes all over the kitchen because we got in at midnight, stating help yourself to the refrigerator we made you some cookies, etc- COMPLETELY different experience and a very positive one at that. I would not recommend staying at the Big Bungalow in Nashville at all. If I had known the situation prior to making the reservation we would not have stayed there. I don't think the owner knows the art of running a bed-and-breakfast or she wouldn't flip out if somebody goes in her kitchen which is completely wrong if you're running a bed-and-breakfast. Oh and by the way, the beautiful place we stayed in Savannah which looks like an English castle inside was cheaper than the rates at the Big Bungalow which is subpar. We ended up leaving during the day as much as possible in order to not be around the owner only stayed there later at night. We were just waiting to leave. I have to be honest and say that this was the low part of our trip.
