Me and my mother had an exceptionally pleasant stay here. The staff is super friendly! The breakfast is lovely with the fresh fruits, the atmosphere is cosy and pleasant, the location is very convenient and our balcony room was perfect! Thank you for having us and we wish to return!

This hostel is outstanding. The rooms are so nice, always very clean and you find everything you need but what puts this place over the top is the staff and atmosphere. From the minute you arrive to the last second of your stay they take care of you, help organising activities, give advice or recommendations and gerenate a vibe that makes you feel at home. The tour guides or organisations they work with are also amazing, whether it was the guide, who took us on a hike up Table Mountain or the NGO that I joined for a shark diving experience, all super friendly, very professional and passionate about their jobs. I can highly recommend this place and if I come back to Cape Town I won't stay anywhere else. Thanks to the team of The BIG, you were a key part for making my first trip to CT so special.

I had an amazing experience at the BIG. The rooms are gorgeous and clean and the location is perfect, but what makes the BIG really special is the way the whole team goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Thanks to the team, I was able to watch the Springboks play, get my hair braided, and try some delicious homemade Zimbabwean food. If I’m ever back in Cape Town, I will definitely be back. Thank you!!!

Made a reservation here for a few nights in October but read some mixed reviews and decided not to go. I booked the option that didn’t allow cancellations so I didn’t even retire them. Just didn’t show up 😔 ||As the world works in mysterious ways…. I ended un staying here in November for 3 nights. Absolutely loved the place and the staff.||Dorms are super clean, so are the bathrooms. Kitchen is very well stocked and sparkling clean. But what made the difference was the staff.||We were greeted by a team of helpful and happy staff. With enormous smiles and a heart warming service. I||I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I had such a great time at The Big Luxury Backpackers! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcome. They weren’t just accommodating, they were genuinely warm and friendly, which instantly put me at ease. The whole place has a relaxed, comfortable vibe that feels less like a hostel and more like staying with friends. It truly became a home away from home, and I left already looking forward to coming back.

We haven’t stayed in a hostel since our 20’s (now 60) but what a pleasant surprise. Beautifully decorated, delicious breakfast, seating areas, luggage storage, private parking for our motorcycles. However it is the staff that make this place extra special. Everyone was so kind and helpful, especially John. Thank you

I had a fantastic time staying at the BIG for one week! The staff were so friendly and welcoming making me immediately feel at home. They helped me with all my questions and needs throughout my stay. The beds were also very clean and comfy and the breakfast tasty and filling. Aylin their events manager did a great job communicating with the guests on a daily basis to make sure we knew all the fun activities going on in Cape Town and took a group of us out to dinner and First Thursdays event where we explored art galleries and danced the night away. It was a memorable stay I won't soon forget. I miss the team there already and hope to come back again someday!

I stayed for four nights in the mixed dorm while traveling solo. The room exceeded my expectations, with a comfy bed (much better than you’d expect in a hostel), an en-suite bathroom, and only three beds. Towels are provided for free, and the room is tidied up daily. Breakfast is also available if you don’t feel like cooking your own (which you can do). The common areas are fantastic—breakfast room, TV room, study room, garden, and swimming pool.|A massive added value is the staff, who make you feel like part of a big family and take great care of you. Thumbs up for the activities and excursions you can book through the hostel as well! I also enjoyed the diverse mix of guests, with people of all ages.|The area is fine, just few steps away from the sea promenade.
