The Billabong, Kuranda

I camped here in my caravan. Expected to stay one night. It was so peaceful & I was so tired from traveling that I stayed three nights. Carmen was nice & no nonsense. She was super busy getting ready for a wedding there but still made me feel welcome. I stayed for Wednesday Pizza Night which was a lovely community gathering. Was pleasantly suppressed they had gluten free options & it was in a wood fired oven. Mia at the bar was nice too! Beautiful peaceful place with a small lake, hiking trails, use of kitchen with fridge & burners, hot showers & flushing toilets. I’m a gardener & the grounds were lovely & full of beautiful tropical plants.

The pick of our camping sites on our long trip up the coast. The location is great - only a couple of kilometres to Kuranda village, but you feel like you are far from the rest of the world. We camped down on the billabong - the absolute best spot. So tranquil and beautiful. Really well set up, with hot showers, toilets and camp kitchen. Pizza nights on Wednesday - definitely worth going for a wonderful woodfire pizza, drinks and music 🎶

We stayed here as it was the venue for our Son's Wedding. Everything was perfect! Carmen is AMAZING. Nothing is too much trouble. Rain meant major changes to plans, but these were undertaken with ease. Rooms were large with everything you need for an overnight stay.

We just had our wedding on the weekend and I do not have one single bad comment on this place. Absolutely beautiful! Carmen was insanely easy to deal with and I can honestly say that if it was not for her this wedding would not have gone as smoothly! She went well above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! She is worth her weight in gold I tell ya! All round this place was a perfect choice for us, not expensive and we loved every single part about this place ❤️

We had our wedding here in July. Carmen is an incredible asset to this place. During the planning process she was quick to reply, friendly and knowledgeable. On the day she was like a wizard, she was somehow everywhere doing everything whilst looking calm, happy and having a blast. We couldn’t have asked for a better person, so thank you Carmen for everything, you are a true gem! The actual venue is gorgeous, the gardens are stunning and it is magical. The Billabong will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We stayed for one night in our Jucy camper van at this amazing place! Carmen was amazing and super helpful! She was bright, happy and super friendly! It was a Wednesday and she told us about happy hour and the amazzzing pizzas! The live music was a huge bonus and my husband Mark and I felt so relaxed! The experience couldn’t have been better! Billabong is very lucky to have Carmen as their frontline person.. she’s an asset to the park. So so welcoming! Thank you Carmen and Billabong!! Wished we could have stayed longer! Located near Kuranda, The Billabong has a lovely campground area. Plenty of space to relax, wifi, hot showers and lovely kitchen. Such a pity we could only stay for one night, as we had to move on with our trip. The billabong is so cute as well, with all the ducks gathering to sleep on the small jetty at night. 😍 Thank you!

Carmen needs a raise immediately! We had our beautiful wedding at The Billabong in late May and it rained on us. It was perfect! We booked this venue over a year ahead and from day one, Carmen's communication skills were impeccable! Anything and everything we needed, she made it happen. On the day, she went above and beyond with everything. She also dealt with problematic guest and vendors for us, putting them in their place when needed. We did not have to deal with any of the nonsense! The place is so beautiful! I wanna get married again just to relieve the fun we had!
