I didn't stay here, this is a review for my outdoor, rooftop dining experience. Last night my friend had a birthday get together. My friends tried calling, weeks before her bday to make an official reservation or at least give the restaurant a heads up. From what I heard, because the party would be on a Monday, they were prompted to "just show up" and it was a very loose transaction. So, that's what we did, we "just showed up". The dinner on her invitation was to be on the rooftop for 20+ people from 5-7 pm, and then we were going to go dancing at the pier for Movement Monday. Pre-context for anyone reading this... My friends and I are all in our 30s and 40s. We all have a huge part in the St. Pete dance community. The bday girl, herself, hosts and manages house music events all over St. Pete, and was recently asked to play in the festival at the pier, We Belong Here. She deserves every part of positivity that comes her way, she is selfless, hard working, loving, supportive, and provides joy throughout this community by offering opportunities, showcasing her talents, DJing everywhere, and hosting conscious/wellness events that appeal to our generation. Me and my friend, showed up around 5:30. Some had been there since 5 and were complaining they hadn't been asked about drinks or given water or a menu. One of our friends was so fed up with waiting that she got up and asked the bartender if we could please have some menus. The waitress we had was so nasty. I'm a girl's girl, I give everyone grace, and understand when people have had a bad day, I get that can reflect on how you do your job- but, she was wearing sunglasses, and not taking them off. When she heard my friends laughing and they were next in line to order, she rolled her eyes at them, so much, you could see them behind her sunglasses. When my friend asked when her coffee was coming, the nasty 🤮 waitress barked at her- she said, "It's coming!" As if my friend "should have known better". Instead of acknowledging our orders when they were brought out, she would say nothing, and hold the drink or plate of food in front of our faces until we acknowledged her, and grabbed it ourselves. If we didn't "grab it" in time, she would set it down for us, on the side of near the edge of the table, easily where someone could knock over the glass, or kick it away. She set some of our drinks on the ground, because she was so impatient. Halfway through finally ordering our entrees/bites, some of the group was so upset that they demanded to talk to someone else, because our waitress was being sporadic and instead of asking each person in a line, what they wanted, she would skip some of us and therefore missed some of us. We had to get out of our seats to catch her and make sure she got our orders. It was so chaotic, and I live in St. Pete. I will NEVER recommend or eat here, again. This was by far one of the most rude, neglectful, unprofessional interactions I've ever seen with a server in this city. They will not honor your reservation on a weekday, they will not serve you in a timely manner, they will not be professional or go above and beyond for you.
The food was good, but, not worth that. To top it off, there was a lot of chaos because of these interactions, and the birthday girl gave the waitress her credit card, not understanding that she would CHARGE IT ALL to her card instead of giving any of us the option to pay separately. The birthday girl's card was charged $850 + 20% tip additional = $1,020 on ONE tab, from the ONE person who shouldn't have to pay that, on top of a $170 mandatory tip for someone whose attitude was garbage trash and her professionalism/kindness not present. At least take two cards.... What if the birthday girl couldn't have afforded $1,020 for everyone's meals? What would happen then? More mess? There are SO many other local, worthy, professional and kind, organized restaurants in St. Pete that offer the same views and honor the customer's wishes and give them options like a normal restaurant should.
