We stayed here during the Jane Austen Festival, which meant the prices were incredibly high – around £300 per night for two people. For that cost, we expected something a bit more special, but the room we were given was very small and lacked comfort. Traffic noise was noticeable throughout the night, and parking was both first come, first served and an expensive extra.
Breakfast was included, and to be fair, it was reasonably nice. We also appreciated being able to use the communal fridge for complimentary bottled water and milk. However, staff made no mention of our special occasion at check-in, which was disappointing. Overall, given the high price, limited facilities, and rather average service, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
