Booked for the location, the hotel is ideally located for Bath city centre. We booked for the xmas market on arrival we were greeted and after a free coffee from the lobby machine which was excellent we were shown to our room. We dropped our bags and headed into town to explore, we were told the bar was not available as they had a function, no big deal we thought. We returned to the hotel about 8.30pm after spending all day in town. Absolutely shattered we were looking forward to a restful nights sleep ready for a big Saturday in Bath. On entering the room we were greeted by boom boom boom, from the bar below. No problem with having functions but dont book rooms for guest over the bar. After 20mins I visited reception to basically say i would like a refund or a new room. The saving grace for the hotel was Doug he moved us to another room and sorted the bill for parking and room downgrade. Overall great location but I would not stay here again after this experience, hotel bar was also out of use due to functions and you could only get basic drinks. When customers are having food delivered to the hotel you know there is something wrong. Could be amazing but let down by communication.

Good central location for Xmas market. Great size Abbey room, comfy bed and pillows and white fluffy towels! Front desk staff very good, took us to our room. The stairs may be an issue for some carrying luggage. Some complementary tea/ coffee and sweets which was a nice touch. Negatives are parking as limited, we found a spot that had materials in the way we needed to move before parking or we would have to find somewhere else and not knowing the area, also £20 is expensive, not sure if the car park is monitored. Breakfast let us down, for some reason we seemed to have been forgotten and it wasn’t busy, not sure what happened but the food was nice when it came. Overall, we had a nice stay in Bath

A short walk from the highstreet and suddenly all is peaceful. The Hotel is lovely, our room was stunning, spacious, elegant, with everything we needed. The site is great, the location is super... but the best thing was the team who looked after us... utterly fantastic. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed, looked after and comfortable. The food was superb too. ||Our room was at the back facing the Rec, there was no traffic noise and we slept really well in a great bed.

Good location with great young staff. Rooms are smaller than web site photos so beware. We were on the top floor and found the stairs a bit steep for us (no lift). The public rooms decor was intended to be fun and quirky but missed as far as we were concerned. We only had breakfast which was good. Parking is very difficult in Bath and the hotel car park is a real plus point.

Everything about the hotel was absolutely first class. In particular the staff and the overall ‘feel’ of the place. So welcoming and ideally placed for touring the city. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others and would not look to stay anywhere else when we visit the city again.

We stayed here during the Jane Austen Festival, which meant the prices were incredibly high – around £300 per night for two people. For that cost, we expected something a bit more special, but the room we were given was very small and lacked comfort. Traffic noise was noticeable throughout the night, and parking was both first come, first served and an expensive extra. Breakfast was included, and to be fair, it was reasonably nice. We also appreciated being able to use the communal fridge for complimentary bottled water and milk. However, staff made no mention of our special occasion at check-in, which was disappointing. Overall, given the high price, limited facilities, and rather average service, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Friendly welcoming staff. Unusual and interesting decor and lights. Excellent food in the "Plate" restaurant. This is our second visit and unlikely to be our last. The city centre is about a 10minute stroll away, less if you're a fast walker. Comfy bed and clean bathroom, what more do you need for a city break.

We stayed at The Bird whilst visiting the Thermal spa, a treat purchased by my son. The staff were lovely from checking in, at the bar, restaurant for evening roast to breakfast. We go away a lot and I never do a review but on this occasion I felt I needed too because we had such a lovely experience. I think they go above and beyond, the picture of free sweets, chocolate in jars, fruit bowl and the fridge full of soft drinks in the corridor….all free. Sunday roast (belly pork) was really lovely, banging crackling, great breakfast too. To top it off, as we checked out we were given bottles of water and a goodie bag (chocolate rocky road) for the journey home. Never had that before 👍 Well done all at The Bird.
