We booked the Abbey King as it was sold as a spacious room with views of the Abbey, we allocated room 31 - we had views of the Abbey, but as first floor probably not as good as I hoped. My issue was the size of the room. They claim you could put a cot in the Abbey King, however I struggled to find room to store my suitcase. There is adequate hanging space, however no drawers so we had to use the case as storage. The bathroom door could not be fully opened as it caught the bed, this is not as I would expect of a spacious room. It wasn’t until later in the evening I realised we had been given a Cosy King in error, and a customer who booked separately had been allocated the Abbey King in- room 17 - on the top floor.|The following day I raised the issue and was allocated room 28 - which was more spacious and comfortable.i was advised the manager would contact me. She didn’t, I didn’t speak to her until a week later, when I rang the hotel myself. Amy was very dismissive of the issues i raised, claiming i was given the correct grade room, and the other customer had been given a complimentary upgrade. She was at pains to point out the room we were issued was a higher price point than the one we paid for. Yes a lovely room, but only £20 more a night, and not my choice - I don’t want or need a roll top bath or clear glass doors into the bathroom - not my style. Spacious was what I paid for, and that is what I didn’t get.|On the plus side the hotel was immaculate, beautifully decorated in a quirky boutique style and generally all the staff were friendly and helpful. It is a great location for getting into the city, and the £20 a day parking, although the bays are tight is very convenient and a rare treat in Bath.|We did visit on a particularly hot weekend, although the UK has been having fabulous weather since May. We had one cheap tower fan, which was totally ineffective. Fortunately we had actually taken our own fan, which although nothing special worked so much better. I feel the hotel does need to upgrade their air con and fans - they promote the fact they provide Dyson hairdryers - fantastic- but perhaps the cooling fans could be the way forward. |Sadly as a result of my experience in particular the way I was dealt with by the Hotel manager I will not return and cannot recommend this hotel.

If I could give ten stars, I would. The magic is in the details and The Bird, Bath has magnificent details. We were greeted by Samuel at check in. Samuel is charming, knowledgeable, and so very funny. A wonderful bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room. The snack pantry has many delicious treats. Even the water is charming! Could not recommend this quirky, lovely location more.

Such a lovely hotel, the staff were great and the garden is such a sun trap which was really lovely with a cold beer. However the price of that beer was extortionate, the drinks were nice but when the cheapest house win is near enough £40 someone needs to give their head a wobble. Service at the bar is on the slow side although the staff are all lovely. The hotel rooms are a bit of a maze, which is quite interesting, but it does feel to us the decor could be updated and modernised but apprecaite thats our personal view. For such an expensive room space was limited, and such a shame the air con made no impact when it was such a hot day. The duvet was super thick, which was not great when it was around 20 degrees at night and with non-working air con (that the staff could not help fix). Was nice to stay at such a location but not sure we would return due to the pricing

We stayed recently for a two night break and had the most wonderful time The hotel, the location and our room was stunning, the decor thoughout is just fantastic, eclectic and really special. The room we stayed in was beautiful, and bedding was gorgeous which I always think is so important. The service, the employed colleagues and the food were exceptional, little touches such as the treats available were very special, along with the shortbread and bottled water for your homeward bound journey 🙌🏻. We can’t wait to return. Keep doing exactly what you are doing. Thanks for an amazing stay The only, and, this is a small minor is my disappointment that you charge £20 per night for parking in your private hotel car park. It should be included.

The location was really good, but a parking charge of £20 for the night was very unexpected. The room as a whole was good, but it needs a little work on it, a lock of paint, a different toilet roll holder, that actually fits. The quirkiness of the place was great, milk in the fridge in the lounge, snacks (that could be restocked more ) was a lovely touch. All in all a nice place very clean, but little thoughts. Could make it great.

Rooms are tight and especially so the bathrooms, but the dining experience was abysmal. The evening meal on Sundays is a carry forward of the Sunday lunch menu and, in particular, the roast lamb was simply inedible. Served as a cob, it was so tough the kitchen provided steak knives for lamb which turned out to be made up of fat, gristle and meat. The substitute of chicken was bland and had been waiting to be eaten since early afternoon.

Exquisite place at a perfect location. Almost all of the must-see landmarks in Bath are only a short walk away. Breakfast was delicious and the room perfectly clean, very comfortable bed, four fluffy pillows and fluffy soft towels. I would definitely visit again. The staff were lovely as well.

Our two night stay at The Bird was for my birthday. We travelled by train and a taxi to the hotel was £6. My daughter and I stayed in Room 23, a ground floor room at the front of the hotel. Despite facing the busy road we weren’t bothered by the road noise at all. The room and bathroom were both huge. Everything was very clean. The soft furnishings were immaculate. A freestanding fan was a welcome addition. We didn’t require the radiator on in the room (I turned it on at one point and it quickly heated up) but the bathroom one came on in the morning which was lovely. The rainfall shower was sublime! The body lotions, shampoo and conditioner supplied were lovely. Super smelly! We had twin beds. The pillows very soft and the mattress firm. I did feel the quilt was a little thin tho. This hotel is an instagrammer’s dream! So many opportunities for a selfie! We loved the quirky interiors. We loved the terrace and the very comfy garden furniture. Such a lovely peaceful place to sit and enjoy the sun. I honestly can’t praise the staff enough. Every request was met with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. From the maids, reception, bar staff, waiters and waitress’. My daughter has a dairy allergy and the staff were very attentive and keen to reassure her. We had breakfast included in our stay, the granola was fab and any teas or coffees we had throughout the day on the terrace were free. Our dinner was delicious but I do feel the steak my daughter had was a little pricey at £40. It was fillet and perfectly cooked but only came with a few chips. Any salad or vegetables would have been extra. The location was perfect for us, a 10 minute walk into the centre. We had a wonderful twilight swim in The Thermae Spa and spent my birthday shopping! We would definitely stay at The Bird again.
