The Bird (Bath, UK) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the theory that Bath has enough historically minded traditional hotels, the proprietors of this Victorian mansion-turned-boutique hotel chose to take things in a playful and irreverent direction. The Bird is full of bold patterns, bright colors, and animal imagery; its 29 rooms range from Dinky to Roomy and beyond, and freely mix modern and antique elements. A restaurant and terrace establish a convivial mood, especially on match days at Bath Rugby’s stadium, a few minutes’ walk from the hotel." - Tablet Hotels

Good food. Unfortunately we needed to eat while constantly batting away flies. Absolutely gross. I know that insects can fly through windows but there are so many measures that can be taken to reduce fly activity indoors that it's not good enough. We waited for the best part of an hour for the dessert after ordering it. Lunch became a 2 hour sitting which isn't what we had in mind. While we waited we overheard the nice barstaff slagging off a woman who'd just been to the bar. 2 girls serving, mixed race girl seems genuinely very nice. The blonde girl let the mask slip and is clearly not nice. Try to not let customers see or hear you bad mouthing other customers. I haven't been to the place for a while. I'm not sure I'd try it again. With all of the fly activity they must be due a food standards check.

Great gastropub style food with brilliant service from the staff.

The Bird in Saltford offers a lovely setting, especially if you choose to sit outside, which we did. The food was great and the atmosphere pleasant, making for an enjoyable experience overall. The only downside was that the younger members of staff appeared quite miserable, which slightly affected the vibe. Despite this, I would still recommend visiting for the quality of food and the nice surroundings.

Lovely staff & fabulous facilities of interior decor & some lovely varied outdoor seating with. We both opted for homemade quiche, chips & salad. The quiche was very disappointing - a soggy bottomed quiche lacking any favour.

Delicious pork w chutney, potato, stuffing and crackling. Would give more stars if I could. Great outdoor seating. Right off bike trail to Bristol.

Good drinks and lovely staff, sadly the veggie burger was not great - mushy, a bit bland and the bun was overly toasted and was just really dry and crumbly. It was also served on a roof tile only marginally larger than the burger itself - given that it was a huge double-patty thing that was falling apart, eating it without coating a significant portion of the table in burger was a test of my ability to extract small pieces of the meal like a meticulous bird. Please just serve food on plates, they're one of the top 3 things to serve food off of. Small pieces of slate do not clear the top 20.

Lovely place, great location and really well decorated for both casual dining and special occasions. I’ve not tried the midweek menu but I can say their roast was nice. Generous portions, especially the kids and it’s great value for money. The veg for roast is just sweetcorn, peas and cabbage, usually I prefer root veg or something I won’t normally have at home but it did the job.

Earlier this year we had an amazing experience, but it has gone down hill a lot and have heard similar from others. Sunday roast was quite poor. Roast potatoes were dry and hard, meat was fatty. Lovely staff, quite bad food
