Mother’s Day at Edgewood Bistro: A Local’s Take
As locals, we love heading up to Edgewood for special occasions, and this Mother’s Day was no exception. We chose Edgewood Bistro for dinner, and overall, it delivered a memorable evening—marked by solid service, exceptional food, and one unforgettable dessert.
Service-wise, things started a bit slow. We waited a little longer than expected to be greeted at our table, which didn’t set the smoothest tone. That said, our main server, Matt, did a fantastic job throughout the evening—attentive, personable, and professional. His trainee, while polite, seemed a bit nervous and unfamiliar with the menu, which made a few moments feel slightly awkward. Still, the effort was there, and it didn’t detract too much from the experience.
The food, though, was the real star. We sampled the bone marrow filet mignon, short rib, and salmon—each dish beautifully plated and rich with flavor. The steak did come undercooked, but to their credit, the team acknowledged it and made a genuine effort to make it right, which we appreciated.
But the highlight of the evening? Hands down, the Edgewood Apple Pie. It was so good, we spent the entire drive home talking about how to recreate it ourselves—layer by layer, crumble by crumble. As the photo shows, we didn’t leave a single crumb behind. It was that good.
