The Bistro

We went to the Indian restaurant next to our hotel. Two of us ate there. The portions were big and the food was very good. The salad was fresh and the curry tasted great. My favorite was the honey cheese nan — sweet, salty, soft, and super tasty! The staff were friendly, and they could speak English too.

Crazy good food! I did not expect to have such a good Indian meal in Hakone of all places. We got off the cable car and ropeway and just wanted to get some quick food. We had the butter chicken naan lunch combo with mango lassi and my goodness this might have been the best naan I have ever had. Owner chatted with us for a bit, wonderful dude. What a refreshing surprise!

Located next to Hakone Hotel. Very near to Hakone Machi-ko. They have vegetarian menu. The vegetarian curry and nan serving was plenty and nice. Biryani was quite good too.

We often visit Hankone and this is the first time the restaurant showed up. We were skeptical going in but were pleasantly greeted by the manager. The staff was friendly and the food was more than edible. This is an Indian restaurant not one of those where Nepali staff serve just edible food. We ordered Dal and Paneer and the taste was really good. The Tandoori Rotis were soft and the overall experience was satisfying.

Visiting from NJ and I was very impressed with the food here. Tikka, Butter chicken and mutton were all very delicious. The naan are huge so really think about it if you want 1/person. That’s the mistake we made. However, I did NOT like the Saag Paneer. Tasted like they accidentally added matcha into the pot. I would avoid. Would still recommend this to desi travelers who want to take a break from traditional Japanese cuisine

We were hungry for a late lunch when we arrived on a rainy afternoon , and this was one of the best meals! We got the cucumber salad, chicken curry, basmati rice, garlic cheese naan, and dumplings. Delicious! Flavorful! Lovely service. If this restaurant was near my home I’d be eating out all the time.

Ample seatings. Good foods. Clean toilets. Best part for Muslims, they said it’s halal !

Outstanding, delicious food matching standards in India. For anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine, a must stop place in Hakone Japan.
