We did not have high expectations for a Bistro on an historical wine farm with a rich history and an average oenological pedigree other than its Vin de Constance. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious loin of lamb serving. A definite for the carnivore and may even convert the vegetarian! A relaxed atmosphere but probably best experienced on the terrace. The Cape Doctor eliminated that choice for us. Quite a drive with the current Kloof Nek road closures but if you have the time, it’s well worth a visit.

The food was delicious and the service was very good too. The wine tasting was a bit too expensive for the type of wines we tasted but the sommelier was super nice and friendly so still a recommendable wine tasting experience. The only thing that surprised me was the the service fees (which are high for South African standards) don’t go to the staff, so you need to add a tip on top if you want to thank your waiter for the great service.

We had a great christmas lunch at the Bistro at Klein Constantia. The tuna and beef steak were wonderful. Also the service was great, Tino was a great host!

Wish we could have sat outside because the reserved tables were empty. Outdoor seating should be first come first served

Second visit 3 years after my first. It was a solid choice in the area for your day trip. My partner and I got lucky for an impromptu table for lunch in Jan after the hike up Table Mountain in the morning. Our server was professional and effective. Best lunch of the second SA trip.

Set amongst the vineyards, mountains in the background and rolling hills overed in vines, the moment you enter the estate you know it’s proper. The food was outstanding, the service was top notch and wines just special. Had to book in advance and good I did as it was full. Tried their Chardonnay, Sauvinon Blanc and the famous dessert wines. Amazing experience. Worth the visit.
