I have been to London four times in the last year and a half and every time I eat here, sometimes multiple times in one trip. This is my favorite local place to come when I visit London. On one trip I brought my parents, another I brought my parents and my two aunts and then on another trip, I brought two of my friends from Jax Fl to eat here. It’s got an amazing vibe, great music and amazing food. It’s easily become our go to place. I also had the opportunity to come here when Taylor Swift was in town for the eras tour ( which I went to at Wembley Stadium, and had the time of my life, literally planned this whole trip in London around that tour) and we all know she wrote a song about you know who going into the black dog so I got to see my favorite place boom with a bunch of my fellow Swifties to the point, it got so busy they had to hire security. It’s probably best to make reservations because it is so popular now but I will say every time I’ve come I’ve just been able to walk in and the manager is so amazing because they know that I’ve traveled from the states they always get me in. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. I’ve sat inside, I’ve sat on the patio and I’ve sat in the garden. It doesn’t matter where you sit the vibe is great and the service is amazing. I strongly recommend trying this place out. I even bought some of their apparel and I wear it all the time.

My friend and I came in for a drink! Alex the manager is very kind and made us laugh a couple times, and our waitress was very timely and professional. We took some pictures of the Taylor Swift lyrics on the wall inside and on the sign outside. Lovely atmosphere, very homey, great for 2-4 person sized groups in my opinion. We each got a glass of chardonnay and if we had more time I definitely would have gotten some food since they have a couple affordable (and clearly labeled) vegan options! Ps. We were sitting in the section closest to the mirror to the side and saw one of the cooks/dishwashers, Adam, working hard! He's a cutie too! I definitely recommend a stop in!

I came to the black dog because of Taylor Swift and was absolutely blown away. The vegetarian Sunday roast was incredible, the atmosphere was perfect and the service was amazing. They also sell merch including friendship bracelets, tote bags and shot glasses which is perfect for gifts for your swiftie friends.

Food was above average for sure, elevated pub food without being pretentious. If skip the sticky toffee pudding next time, was a bit dry. Drinks were good and service was excellent. Only downside is we would have preferred an outside seat and never had the chance to move out there. Definitely a repeat place if you’re in the area.

I’ve worked nearby for years and never visited. On a Tuesday lunchtime I found myself nearby and decided to try it out, I can only say that I wish I had done earlier. The atmosphere is lovely, the high ceilings and open layout feels welcoming and spacious, and the staff were all lovely and friendly and helpful. I decided to get some lunch and opted for the harissa roasted cauliflower and pomegranate salad. I was expecting something fairly mediocre as per usual pub food, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only was I not expecting a whole cauliflower but the presentation was beautiful, and most importantly it tasted absolutely incredible. Cauliflower doesn’t usually get me excited, but the mix of flavours was just pure genius. I’m a bit of a miser and begrudge spending £16 on lunch, but this was absolutely worth every penny. I literally wanted to be introduced to the chef to see what incredible person put this together. Oh and they have Henry Westons cider on draught which is always a bonus.

Definitely not overhyped. This place was amazing, kind attentive staff, delicious food! They were even kind enough to make me a side from another dish as seen below in my images! Definitely know why this place is so popular, and not only Taylor Swift fans lol, lots of locals going here and I can definitely see why. I cannot wait to go back next time I am in London!

Stopped by The Black Dog because of Taylor Swift...and sure glad I did! Hands down the Best Service and Best Food I have had in London! Had the Sunday Roast and everything tasted delicious and was perfectly cooked and seasoned! Highly Recommend!

And I walked into the black dog...🫶🏻 I had a lovely lunch with my partner one Wednesday. I wanted to visit the restaurant for the Taylor Swift reference of course, but was so excited for the food as well because we checked the menu first and it all looked so good! We weren't disappointed. We are Italians and we approved the risotto👌🏻😂 It was amazing, the side dish and pie too were really good and we left this place really satisfyed. Lovely people and lovely atmosphere. I'd like to come back the next time we'll visit London.🥰

We came to the Black Dog on a recommendation from the front desk guys of our hotel. Located directly adjacent to our Hotel in London. The Pub is also located directly across from a beautiful park filled with runners, walkers and dogs. During the day, it may seem like a calm, relaxed restaurant. However, in the evening, this pub is extremely loud and rowdy. You can hear people laughing, screaming and obviously enjoying their drinks from blocks away. The staff here was great. We sat ourselves down and it wasn't long before someone took our order. The staff was very warm and welcoming. We ate here around 11:30 am the day we arrived and returned for dinner at 9pm 5 days later, to be told they stop serving food at 9pm but they're open until 11pm. We found that very strange but no big deal. We ordered the following: Coffees and a Full English breakfast. This Brekky did not disappoint. It was excellent! This breakfast had everything, eggs any style, pork & leek sausage, baked beans, a nice buttered mushroom, greens, smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes and bottomless toast. Served piping hot. We also ordered the avocado toast with coffee. Also a fabulous dish. 2 eggs over smashed avocado mixed with peas and mint on a very generous portion of sourdough bread. There is nothing like biting into a chilled, soft avocado against a nice crisp toasted slice of bread sprinkled with some sea salt and eggs. It's the perfect meal item for any occasion: breakfast, brunch, afternoon pick-me-up, or even dinner. This is one dish I'll never get sick of, as it's equally healthy and satisfying. The Black Dog is a basic rustic, local Pub for drinks that also provides delicious meals, including the Sunday Roast which I would've liked to try. Nice spit, good location and excellent food.

As many people have recently, I ventured here due to TTPD. Since we were going into this area/neighborhood - we decided to stay for lunch. It was quite busy and we didn't have a reservation but we did find a small table out back. We would have found seating outside front but it was a rainy day. We ordered at the bar before sitting down. We got the fish and chips. The interactions we had with the staff were all friendly which kudos to them with the crowd I'm assuming they get these days. The fish and chips was good - basic. Sitting in the back, we didn't have access to malt vinegar, salt, or ketchup. Based on other photos I've seen, I do feel the piece I got was tiny! Cute place and fun just to get drinks and hang out as well.

They are leaning into the Swiftie world, and I love that! The staff was very kind and accommodating, even finding us a table quickly considering how many girls in cardigans were there! We had great drinks and great food and left with zero complaints. I encourage everyone to support them when in London!

We had a great experience at The Black Dog! Like most folks, we were drawn to this restaurant thanks to Taylor Swift. If you are a fan, I would 100% recommend coming, there's some cute signage out front and a mural in the restaurant with the song lyrics. However, even if you aren't a fan you should come for the food and drinks! The fish and chips were very very fresh, the chips were a bit thick for my liking but it still tasted great. The place itself is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend making a reservation.

Just a normal pub in Vauxhall now famous due to Taylor Swifts TTPD album with the song Blacj Dog. The owners are smart enough to capitalize on the popularity that is T Swift. Three option Sunday roasts are available daily so if you live mo'm's roast give them a try. I would agree with others that their portions are smaller than the average pub but the service was standard and the nod to Taylor Swift was very exciting! #swifitesunite

I'll admit I didn't expect this to be as good as it was! We went for Sunday Roast and it was SO GOOD. But you have to get the beef instead of the pork. The espresso martinis were great and reasonably priced. Definitely try to get a reservation to come here! I think they're a little weary of people who come in just to take a picture. Was a very chill environment and tbh I can't blame anyone if it was their favorite bar

This place is a 5/5! The service is excellent, as well as the food! If you are in london i definitely recommend this place! The place was so clean and the environment of this place was super vines!

Food and service was great. Smokey ribs were very flavorful and side of mac was very cheesy. Loved the vibe in here as well!

Went in July, with my daughters (from California), of course one had to go here because it was T. Swift's mentionable spot! But it ended up being pretty good pub food. We ordered some of their sweaters too. Very cute!

Solid fish & chips. Very easy to find an open seat on the front patio, very welcoming and easy way to meet fellow Swifties

Obviously we came here because of the Taylor Swift song, but we were wowed by the service and the food. Caesar salad was great. I can't speak highly enough about Kimon and the service in general.

This place was amazing. I loved the passion fruit martini and black dog burger. I would highly recommend them! One of our servers (Niel) was very kind when we realized our desserts were wrong and was quick to have them remade for us. He let us (Americans) charge our phones with their charger and was absolutely amazing. Phenomenal service!!!

Ordered fish and chips and a black dog burger. Overall the food was so-so, with my biggest complaint is the taste of the fryer oil was pretty over powering on the fish and the chips. Tastes like they haven't changed the oil out in years. The waiter also let some random stranger touch our fish and he still brought it to the table. I would have returned it but my husband didn't care enough to complain. We stopped by again later the next night for a beer and the place was packed. Definitely a better drinking place than eating.

Great neighborhood pub. Outdoor seating and dog friendly. Good time talking with folks around us. We had beer drinks no food but it looked like they did have food available.

Come for the Taylor lore, stay for the food. Had a delicious risotto and incredible dry cider on tap here. Staff was friendly and I love that they lean into Swiftie vibes with a mural and quote - I could buy a souvenir pint glass for 20 pounds (the food was more affordable than that). Every dish we had was great; also a fantastic "pub style experience" if you don't want it to be insanely rowdy/loud but still lively. The Vauxhall area was cute to walk around as well, in a quiet park neighborhood.

Super busy spot with a very limited menu. I got the steak and my hubby got the burger. My dish was extremely small while the burger was a good size.

Turns out the service is sh*tty in the black dog! My friend and I had booked a reservation and were so excited to come here, the host who seated was so pleasant and kind but the same was not to say about our waitress (I believe her name was Thavy). She rushed us to order and when asking for a dry cider she said that doesn't exist (it does). My friend who was not drinking alcohol was asking for options and she genuinely didn't seem to know what she was talking about nor did she seem to have any interest in helping us at all. Similar when it came to actually ordering food her overall demeanor was unwelcoming and cold. She barely spoke above a whisper, and the same was for the table behind us. After all this rushing it took 20+ minutes to receive our check. Overall, a disappointing customer experience at some thing we were so excited to go to. However, management did a great job with seeming the restaurant to its recent publicity and the merchandise was expensive but very, very cute.

After a day exploring we wanted something good, quick and fairly priced. The concierge recommended the Black Dog. We walked in and took a seat. We had to ask if we seat ourself as there was no sign and no greeting, however, the staff was friendly when engaged. The food was good and that's important. It was nice that it's fairly priced. While the food took time but it was hot and fresh when it arrived. We all had dessert and while it again it took time for service the food was good. There is a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating and a lively atmosphere. If you're looking for good food, beverages and aren't in a rush then I recommend The Black Dog.

Glad I did a little Yelp research before embarking on a midday trip to Vauxhall the other day. I'd walked past this and a couple of other pubs before but thought I'd better make sure to choose the best lunch venue. My friend and I popped in on our way to the galleries on Newport Street to check if it was necessary to book. We fell in love with the place straight away. Lovely gastropub with the friendliest of staff. When we returned the bar was buzzing and we were glad to have reserved our spot (mind you, walk-ins would also have been OK). I couldn't resist ordering the Dogs Dinner just for its name. Lovely grilled chicked on couscous - we spoilt the healthy option with a shared portion of fries. I spotted Eton Mess on the dessert menu, so no starters on this occasion.

I visited London from California and loved this place. I'd drink here all the time if I could. Thanks for the hospitality.

I met a friend here for lunch, while I was visiting her city. It is in a great location, near the Vauxhall Tube Station and across from the Pleasure Gardens. We kept our eyes peeled for 007, Moneypenny, Q, Tanner, and M, in case they walked over from MI6 to have lunch with us. My friend got the veggie burger, which was huge and looked delicious! In fact, it had me craving a burger for my next meal. I got the "Dog's Dinner" which, on this day, was a delicious bowl of hand-made squash ravioli with shaved Parmesan cheese and a pint! The service was friendly and cheerful. I would definitely recommend stopping here for lunch, unless you are an internationally-wanted villain!

We popped in for supper and had a great meal. Nick found a space for us right away and the service was excellent! The food was tasty, very reasonably priced, and served quickly. Highly recommend! Our table ordered the gnocchi, prawns served with a chili sauce, and waffle nachos

This place is right next to the national crime agency so be sure there will be some coppers around. The food is very good. Flew in over night and had a meeting nearby and went here for lunch. Had the burger and fries which was amazingly fresh and flavorful. Service was incredibly fast and quick. Very good choice.

*Disclaimer* the following review does not reflect this locations food or drink. On a Sunday evening around 5:45 my husband and I arrived to the Black Dog were we stood and were ignored for several minutes. When someone finally addressed us they turned us around due to us not having reservations. She also stated the pub was closing at 8pm. I had researched this pub for a few days before I tried going there and was not aware a reservation was required or that it closed at 8pm. Maybe The Black Dog should advertise these two requirements more clearly.

Excellent local pub with a friendly atmosphere and nice outside seating. The beers on tap are good, and they even have Hoegaarden on tap, which is great. I have not yet eaten here, but I plan to in the next couple of weeks. Location easy to reach and right next to a nice park, in which you are allowed to have your drinks [in plastic cups].

My boyfriend used to work locally and he'd come here for lunch with the boys or after work drinks and had told me that this pub served great food and had to check it out. So we came here for Sunday lunch (booking is a must) and both had the roast sirloin of beef with all the trimmings. It's SO GOOD. The beef is served medium rare just perfect. Nothing like a cosy pub lunch on a cold Sunday to warm your cockles! The service and overall atmosphere is great too. It's a little tucked away but walking distance from Vauxhall station. Oh and yes the homemade Scotch eggs are a-mazing!

This is a gorgeous pub tucked away in Vauxhall. Popping in on a Thursday lunch time for a work leaving lunch we found the whole pub heaving - luckily we'd already reserved a table. It isn't the cheapest for lunch, but the menu has so many amazing dishes I really struggled to choose what to have. I opted for their burger and swapped the fries for sweet potato fries. It was delicious meal and I was completely stuff by the time I'd eaten every bite. We also had some marinated anchovies which were yummy too. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying something else on the menu. They have a daily dogs dinner for £10 including a drink (can be alcoholic). The day we were there it was steak ciabatta and fries, quite a good deal! I paid £12 for my meal, excluding a drink as I just had tap water. I'm a fan of this place!

Came here for a birthday lunch for a work mate. We made a booking and arrived just after midday and there was no one there. By 1pm, the place was packed with local office workers. We came here because people from work has been here for after work drinks and had their scotch eggs which are apparently awesome. I was tempted to have one, but I opted for a burger instead. The burger which I ordered with extra bacon, was nothing too extraordinary, the only thing worth noting is for the price they charge to add bacon on my burger. They gave me a decent amount of bacon on my burger, for 75p compared to other places where they give the saddest amount of bacon and charge £1-£1.5 for it. Another thing... Most of us had ordered regular burgers, but one had ordered a veggie burger. They either forgot to put in the order or forgot to make it because it took a while for it to get to the table. Some of us had finished our meal by the time it arrived. My work mate who ordered the veggie burger commented afterwards that he could have made a better veggie burger, that says a lot because he doesn't really cook. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I think I might just come back here for drinks and a scotch egg after work next time.

You know a place is good enough when you find yourself thinking 'damm, I'd like to work here'. Kudos to the great people who work here. Caring. CARING. Prices are not that astronomic for some great pub food, and atmosphere. Brilliant for a date in an up-and-coming area. Unlike many other places, you will feel like you want to move in next door.

My family and I really enjoyed this pub. Friendly and great environment. Great food too! Had my first Scotch egg. I agree with other descriptions that it's traditional British pub with some Eastern influences.

I met up with my husband and some of his friends after the cricket on Friday and we decided to come here. Everyone was spilled out onto the grass just hanging out and drinking, so the laid back vibe was cool. I went inside and ordered a burger - it was nice and juicy and exactly what my tipsy belly needed. Service was relatively quick and they even had Brooklyn lager on tap!

Came here yesterday on a Friday evening and I love this place! The food was so worth dying for and the vibe was great. The staff are very friendly and happy as well. Looking forward to come back here again!

The food is good. Nothing super exciting - just the regular London pub foods - but it is good quality, and the staff are nice. It is small, so it is good for small groups.

The Black Dog is a regular haunt as it's very near work, and is a great venue for summer drinks, as they hire out picnic blankets that you can use on the park opposite, so you can have an alfresco drinking session in the sun. The food is reliable pub grub, a bit on the pricey side but tasty. The burger was well cooked, the right side of medium, with a good slice of gerkin. I had mine with sweet potato fries (you may have gathered from my reviews that I'm a fan) which were the right balance of crisp and fluffy. One of the better offerings in Vauxhall, and the perfect place for post work drinks

One word AMAZING! From planning to execution Cokey and his team at The Black Dog did and great job on my partners 40th! If you are thinking of a place to host your next event with some really good food then this is the place!

This is the stuff. Looks and feels like a few places around Kennington but is, like the others, it's own place. Best selection of beers on tap (including Brooklyn Brewery), very nice food, good soundtrack. All-round, a cool and groovy place and we'll be back, time and time again I expect. The landlord was keen that we did

I've only been twice and both times with medium sized group for lunch. Decent speed and quality of service but drastically overpriced for what is served. Pretty average and small burger. Very very average scotch egg. Thrives because of the lack of alternatives not because it's actually good
