"The Black Sheep Located on Buffalo’s West Side, this farm-to-table favorite comes courtesy of award-winning chefs Steve and Ellen Gedra. Here, the menu changes daily to highlight locally sourced produce and sustainably raised meat, so diners are guaranteed something new every time they visit. Dishes are simple and straightforward to let their ingredients shine, while cocktails incorporate unique spirits like lavender gin and bacon-washed bourbon. Go for dinner and pair the vegetable lasagna with a classic manhattan, or swing by at brunch for the BS Griddle sandwich, featuring eggs, cheese, hash browns, and your choice of bacon or sausage sandwiched between two pancakes."

Cute little gem. Great ambience, very friendly staff. The drinks were creative and tasty. The food tasted as good as it looked. The cheeseburger has to be one of the best I ever had. Cooked to perfection with so much flavor! I highly recommend starting the meal with the BBQ pork sticks and the pumpkin pakora!

Like everyone else I thought the black sheep was incredible. The food was delicious, the drinks were good and creative with fun titles, and the staff was really nice. We had the delicious pierogi, pastrami tacos, and could not resist getting the ramps before they were out of season. I unfortunately neglected dessert and did not get to try the infamous stick sticky toffee pudding, but next time for sure. it was a really great atmosphere, some times nice restaurants think they have to be pretentious and I did not get this here at all. Even the diners felt it, seemed casual, and social, it was very easy to chat with our neighbors at the barand the bartender it was just a great place to be. I will definitely be back to try more of the delightful looking things on their menu.

Had a great brunch with delicious food and delightful service. We arrived right at 11am with no reservation and they had room at the bar. Beautiful restaurant and unique menu options. My only comment would be it’s a very large portion, so arrive hungry and even ready to take left overs. Our service was fantastic and food came at a perfect time. Will try dinner next time we’re in Buffalo!

First time at this location. I am still impressed by the food here. They do things right. It's a nice old building comfortable setting and the staff is professional without it being off putting them know their menu and its contents. They give good suggestions as to what to eat and pair with the food you decide to try. Started with the notorious p.i.g. cocktail it was good but I didn't tasted bacon. I had to have the Monkfish special wrapped in spinach accompanied with sunchokes, cabbage and chestnut in a beurre Blanc sauce. Very good entree it was delicious and felt substantial. I paired the dish with the French Sauvignon blanc that was delicious and fit well with the Monkfish dish I tried. The dessert which is well known at this establishment to it's customers was wonderful the sticky toffee pudding was sweet creamy and satisfying. Topped it all off with a Pierre Ferrand cognac that was tasty as well. All in all a great meal I definitely will return again. PS I took a meatball slider home that was delicious at breakfast.

Of course the bread at Black Sheep is phenomenal with their weekly selection of butter and Evo. The drinks are fantastic, I must personally recommend Disco Dave when it’s available, it’s been one of my favs. The specials are always fantastic and the patio during the summer time is great!

UPDATED FEB 2018: I organized a work dinner for my sales team Feb 13th. The reviews of the food from everyone were above what they expected by looking at the menu online. I am so pleased this quality of restaurant exists in Buffalo without having to break the bank. We did drinks, starters, main and dessert. Thanks again Caleb, Steve, and Ellen. ...Farm to table with a creative flair. Pork chop as big as your 2 hands open together. Charcuterie and cheese made an amazing meal. Good drink pairings. Little secret... happy hour drink prices and bar only menu is a great deal. Don't be afraid of the pigs ears appetizer either. They are Soo good.

Amazing the food the service the restaurant. The service was awesome our waitress was able to give us suggestions, the restaurant was clean and socially spaced. The food was unbelievable salmon eggs benedict and the cheddar bacon scones everything cooks to perfection. The bacon mustard served with the scones should be jared I am still dreaming about it 🤤😁😍

Found this spot on our Airbnb host’s list of local places. Snagged two seats at the bar and spent a wonderful evening talking, trying different cocktails and menu offerings. Cocktails were delicious and had varying flavors. Fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were amazing, fresh, and creative. Burger was perfectly done and delicious. The Brussel sprout Caesar salad with potato croutons was perfect (ask for extra croutons)!! Save room for the sticky toffee dessert...and order their Manhattan cocktail to go with it!! We’d go back without even thinking twice!
